Melachim Alef 3:15 - 4:1; Zeḵaryah 2:14-4:7
Melachim Alef 3:15 And Shlomo awoke, and see, it was a dream! And he came into Yerushalayim and stood before the ark of the covenant of יהוה, and offered up burnt offerings and made peace offerings. And he made a feast for all his servants.
Melachim Alef 3:16 Then two women, whores, came to the Melech, and stood before him.
Melachim Alef 3:17 And one woman said, “O my Master, this woman and I dwell in the same house. And I gave birth while she was in the house.
Melachim Alef 3:18 “And it came to be, the third day after I had given birth, that this woman also gave birth. And we were together. There was no one else with us in the house, only the two of us in the house.
Melachim Alef 3:19 “Then this woman’s son died in the night, because she lay on him.
Melachim Alef 3:20 “And she rose up in the middle of the night and took my son from my side, while your female slave slept, and laid him in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom.
Melachim Alef 3:21 “And I rose up in the morning to nurse my son and saw he was dead. But I looked at him closely in the morning, and saw he was not my son whom I had borne.”
Melachim Alef 3:22 And the other woman said, “No! But the living one is my son, and the dead one is your son.” And the first woman said, “No! For the dead one is your son, and the living one is my son.” And they spoke before the sovereign.
Melachim Alef 3:23 And the Melech said, “The one says, ‘This is my son, who lives, and your son is the dead one,’ while the other says, ‘No! For your son is the dead one, and my son is the living one.’ ”
Melachim Alef 3:24 And the Melech said, “Bring me a sword.” So they brought a sword before the sovereign.
Melachim Alef 3:25 And the Melech said, “Divide the living child in two, and give half to one, and half to the other.”
Melachim Alef 3:26 And the woman whose son was living spoke to the sovereign, for she was overcome with compassion for her son. And she said, “O my Master, give her the living child, and by no means kill him!” But the other said, “Let him be neither mine nor yours, but divide him.”
Melachim Alef 3:27 And the Melech answered and said, “Give the first woman the living child, and by no means kill him – she is his mother.”
Melachim Alef 3:28 And all Yisra’ĕl heard of the right- ruling which the Melech had rendered. And they feared the Melech, for they saw that the wisdom of Elohim was in him to do right-ruling.
Melachim Alef 4:1 And it came to be that Shlomo HaMelech was sovereign over all Yisra’ĕl.
Zek 3:1 And he showed me Yehoshua the Kohen Gadol standing before the messenger of יהוה, and Satan standing at his right hand to be an adversary to him.
Zek 3:2 And יהוה said to Satan, “יהוה rebuke you, Satan! יהוה who has chosen Yerushalayim rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?”
Zek 3:3 And Yehoshua was dressed in filthy garments, and was standing before the messenger.
Zek 3:4 And He answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, “Remove the filthy garments from him.” And to him He said, “See, I have removed your guilt from you, and shall put costly robes on you.”
Zek 3:5 And I said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.” Then they put a clean turban on his head, and they put garments on him. And the messenger of יהוה stood by.
Zek 3:6 And the messenger of יהוה witnessed to Yehoshua, saying,
Zek 3:7 “Thus said יהוה of hosts, ‘If you walk in My ways, and if you guard My duty, then you shall also rule My beit, and also guard My courts. And I shall give you access among these standing here.
Zek 3:8 ‘Now listen, Yehoshua the Kohen Gadol, you and your companions who sit before you, for they are men of symbol. For look, I am bringing forth My Servant – the Branch
Zek 3:9 ‘See the stone which I have put before Yehoshua: on one stone are seven eyes. See, I am engraving its inscription,’ declares יהוה of hosts, ‘and I shall remove the guilt of that land in one day.
Zek 3:10 ‘In that day,’ declares יהוה of hosts, ‘you shall invite one another, under the vine and under the fig tree.’ ”
Zek 4:1 And the messenger who was speaking to me came back and woke me up as a man is awakened from sleep.
Zek 4:2 And he said to me, “What do you see?” So I said, “I have looked, and see: a lampstand all of gold with a bowl on top of it, and on the stand seven lamps with seven spouts to the seven lamps.
Zek 4:3 “And two olive trees are by it, one at the right of the bowl and the other at its left.”
Zek 4:4 Then I responded and spoke to the messenger who was speaking to me, saying, “What are these, my Master?”
Zek 4:5 And the messenger who was speaking to me answered and said to me, “Do you not know what these are?” And I said, “No, my Master.”
Zek 4:6 And he answered and said to me, “This is the word of יהוה to Zerubbaḇel, ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ said יהוה of hosts.
Zek 4:7 ‘Who are you, great mountain, before Zerubbaḇel? A plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone with shouts of “Favour, favour to it!” ’ ”
