Melachim Alef 5:26(4:29)*- 6:13
1Ki 4:29 And Elohim gave Shlomo exceeding great wisdom and understanding, and largeness of heart like the sand on the seashore.
1Ki 4:30 And Shlomo’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the men of the East and all the wisdom of Mitsrayim.
1Ki 4:31 For he was wiser than all men, than Ěythan the Ezrahite, and Hĕman, and Kalkol, and Darda, the sons of Maḥol. And his name was in all the nations round about.
1Ki 4:32 And he spoke three thousand proverbs, and his songs were one thousand and five.
1Ki 4:33 And he spoke of trees, from the cedar tree of Leḇanon even to the hyssop that springs out of the wall. And he spoke of beasts, and of birds, and of creeping creatures, and of fish.
1Ki 4:34 And there came from all peoples, from all the sovereigns of the earth who had heard of his wisdom, to hear the wisdom of Shlomo.
1Ki 5:1 And Ḥiram sovereign of Tsor sent his servants to Shlomo, because he heard that they had anointed him melech in place of his father, for Ḥiram had always loved Dawiḏ.
1Ki 5:2 And Shlomo sent to Ḥiram, saying,
1Ki 5:3 “You know my father Dawiḏ was unable to build a house for the Name of יהוה his Elohim because of the battles which were all around him, until יהוה put them under the soles of his feet.
1Ki 5:4 “But now יהוה my Elohim has given me rest all around, there is neither adversary nor evil incident.
1Ki 5:5 “And see, I intend to build a house for the Name of יהוה my Elohim, as יהוה spoke to my father Dawiḏ, saying, ‘Your son, whom I set on your throne in your place, he does build the house for My Name.’
1Ki 5:6 “And now, command that they cut down cedars for me from Leḇanon. And let my servants be with your servants, and let me pay you wages for your servants according to whatever you say. For you know there is none among us who knows to cut timber like the Tsiḏonians.”
1Ki 5:7 And it came to be, when Ḥiram heard the words of Shlomo, that he rejoiced greatly and said, “Blessed be יהוה this day, for He has given Dawiḏ a wise son over this great people!”
1Ki 5:8 And Ḥiram sent to Shlomo, saying, “I have heard that which you sent me. Let me do all you desire concerning the cedar and cypress logs.
1Ki 5:9 “Let my servants bring them down from Leḇanon to the sea, then I put them in rafts by sea to the place you direct me. And I shall spread them out there, then you take them up, while you do my desire by giving food for my household.”
1Ki 5:10 And Ḥiram gave Shlomo cedar and cypress logs – all his desire.
1Ki 5:11 And Shlomo gave Ḥiram twenty thousand kors of wheat as food for his household, and twenty kors of pressed oil. Thus Shlomo gave to Ḥiram year by year.
1Ki 5:12 And יהוה gave Shlomo wisdom, as He promised him. And there was peace between Ḥiram and Shlomo, and the two of them made a covenant.
1Ki 5:13 And Sovereign Shlomo raised up compulsory labor out of all Yisra’ĕl. And the compulsory labor was thirty thousand men.
1Ki 5:14 And he sent them to Leḇanon, ten thousand a month by courses – they were one month in Leḇanon, two months at home. And Aḏoniram was over the compulsory labor.
1Ki 5:15 And Shlomo had seventy thousand bearing burdens, and eighty thousand hewing stone in the mountains,
1Ki 5:16 besides three thousand three hundred from the chiefs of Shlomo’s deputies who were over the work, those ruling over the people who labored in the work.
1Ki 5:17 And the sovereign commanded, and they brought large stones, precious stones, to lay the foundation of the House with hewn stones.
1Ki 5:18 And Shlomo’s builders, and Ḥiram’s builders, and the men of Geḇal did hew, and prepared timber and stones to build the House.
1Ki 6:1 And it came to be, in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Yisra’ĕl had come out of the land of Mitsrayim, in the fourth year of the reign of Shlomo over Yisra’ĕl, in the month of Ziw, which is the second month, that he began to build the House of יהוה.
1Ki 6:2 And the house which Shlomo HaMelech built for יהוה was sixty cubits long, and twenty wide, and thirty cubits high.
1Ki 6:3 And the porch at the front of the hĕḵal of the House was twenty cubits long, according to the breadth of the House, and its width ten cubits, from the front of the House.
1Ki 6:4 And he made for the House windows with narrowed frames.
1Ki 6:5 And against the wall of the House he built rooms all around, against the walls of the House, all around the hĕḵal and the Oracle. Thus he made side rooms all around.
1Ki 6:6 The lowest side room was five cubits wide, and the middle one was six cubits wide, and the third one was seven cubits wide; for he made narrow ledges around the outside of the House, so as not to lay hold on the walls of the House.
1Ki 6:7 And the House, when it was being built, was built with finished stone made ready beforehand, so that no hammer or chisel or any iron tool was heard in the House while it was being built.
1Ki 6:8 The doorway for the middle side room was on the right side of the House. And they went up by stairs to the middle side rooms, and from the middle to the third.
1Ki 6:9 So he built the House and completed it, and he paneled the House with beams and boards of cedar.
1Ki 6:10 And he built the side rooms of the structure against all the House, each five cubits high, and they were fastened to the House with cedar beams.
1Ki 6:11 And the word of יהוה came to Shlomo, saying,
1Ki 6:12 “This House which you are building – if you walk in My chukka, and do My mishpatim, and shall guard all My mitzvot and walk in them, then I shall confirm My word with you, which I spoke to your father Dawiḏ,
1Ki 6:13 and shall dwell in the midst of the children of Yisra’ĕl, and not forsake My people Yisra’ĕl.”
