Mar 6:1 ויצא משם ויבא אל־ארצו וילכו אחריו תלמידיו׃
Mar 6:2 ויהי ביום השבת ויחל ללמד בבית הכנסת וישמעו רבים וישתוממו ויאמרו מאין לאיש הזה כאלה ומה החכמה הנתונה לו עד־אשר נעשו גבורות כאלה על־ידיו׃
Mar 6:3 הלא הוא החרש בן־מרים ואחי יעקב ויוסי ויהודה ושמעון והלא אחיותיו אתנו פה ויהי להם למכשול׃
Mar 6:4 ויאמר אליהם ישוע אין הנביא נקלה כי אם־בארצו ובין קרוביו ובביתו׃
Mar 6:5 ולא יכל לעשות שם כל־גבורה רק חלשים מעטים שם ידיו עליהם וירפאם׃
Mar 6:6 ויתמה על־חסרון אמונתם ויעבר בכפרים מסביב וילמד׃
Mar 6:7 ויקרא אל־שנים העשר ויחל לשלח אותם שנים שנים ויתן להם שלטן על־רוחות הטמאה׃
Mar 6:8 ויצו עליהם אשר לא־יקחו מאומה לדרך זולתי מקל לבדו לא תרמיל ולא לחם ולא מעות בחגורה׃
Mar 6:9 ולהיות נעולי סנדל ושתי כתנות לא ילבשו׃
Mar 6:10 ויאמר אליהם כי תבאו בית־איש באחד המקומות שבו־בו עד כי־תצאו משם׃
Mar 6:11 וכל־אשר לא־יאספו אתכם ולא ישמעו אליכם צאו משם ונערו את־עפר כפות רגליכם לעדות להם (אמן אני אמר לכם לסדם ולעמרה יקל ביום הדין מן־העיר ההיא)׃
Mar 6:12 ויצאו ויקראו לשוב בתשובה׃
Mar 6:13 ויגרשו שדים רבים ויסוכו בשמן חלשים רבים וירפאום׃
Mar 6:14 וישמע המלך הורדוס שמעו כי נודע שמו ויאמר יוחנן המטביל נעור מן־המתים ועל־כן פעלים בו הכחות׃
Mar 6:15 ויש אמרים כי אליהו הוא ואחרים אמרו כי־נביא הוא או כאחד הנביאים׃
Mar 6:16 וישמע הורדוס ויאמר יוחנן אשר אנכי נשאתי את־ראשו מעליו הוא קם מן־המתים׃
Mar 6:17 כי הוא הורדוס שלח ויתפש את־יוחנן ויאסרהו בבית הסהר בגלל הורודיה אשת פילפוס אחיו אשר לקחה לו לאשה׃
Mar 6:18 כי יוחנן אמר אל־הורדוס אשת אחיך איננה מתרת לך׃
Mar 6:19 ותשטם אותו הורודיה ותבקש המיתו ולא מצאה׃
Mar 6:20 כי הורדוס ירא את־יוחנן באשר ידע כי־איש צדיק וקדוש הוא וישמר עליו והרבה עשה ויערב לו לשמע אתו׃
Mar 6:21 ויהי היום המכשר כאשר עשה הורדוס משתה ביום הלדת אתו לגדוליו ולשרי האלפים ולראשי הגליל׃
Mar 6:22 ותבא בת־הורודיה ותרקד ותיטב בעיני הורדוס ובעיני המסבים עמו ויאמר המלך אל־הנערה שאלי ממני את־אשר תחפצי ואתן לך׃
Mar 6:23 וישבע לה לאמר כל־אשר תשאלי ממני אתן־לך עד־חצי המלכות׃
Mar 6:24 ותצא ותאמר לאמה מה אשאל ותאמר את־ראש יוחנן המטביל׃
Mar 6:25 ותמהר מאד לבוא אל־המלך ותשאל לאמר רצוני שתתן לי עתה בקערה את־ראש יוחנן המטביל׃
Mar 6:26 ויתעצב המלך מאד אך בעבור השבועה ובעבור המסבים עמו לא רצה להשיב פניה׃
Mar 6:27 ומיד שלח המלך אחד הטבחים ויצוהו להביא את־ראשו׃
Mar 6:28 וילך ויכרת את־ראשו בבית הסהר ויביאהו בקערה ויתנהו לנערה והנערה נתנה אל־אמה׃
Mar 6:29 וישמעו תלמידיו ויבאו וישאו את־גויתו וישימוה בקבר׃
Mar 6:30 ויקהלו השליחים אל־ישוע ויגידו לו את־כל־אשר עשו ואת־כל־אשר למדו׃
Mar 6:31 ויאמר אליהם באו אתם לבדכם אל־מקום חרבה ונוחו מעט כי רבים היו הבאים והיצאים על־לאין־עת להם לאכול׃
Mar 6:32 וילכו משם באניה אל־אחת החרבות לבדד׃
Mar 6:33 וההמון ראה אותם יצאים ויכירהו רבים וירוצו שמה ברגליהם מכל הערים ויעברו אותם ויאספו אליו׃
Mar 6:34 ויצא ישוע וירא המון עם רב ויהמו מעיו להם כי היו כצאן אשר אין־להם רעה ויחל ללמד אותם דברים הרבה׃
Mar 6:35 ויהי כאשר רפה היום לערוב ויגשו אליו תלמידיו ויאמרו הנה המקום חרב והיום רד מאד׃
Mar 6:36 שלח אותם וילכו אל־החצרים והכפרים מסביב לקנות להם לחם כי אין־להם מה־שיאכלו׃
Mar 6:37 ויען ויאמר אליהם תנו אתם להם לאכל ויאמרו אליו הנלך לקנות לחם במאתים דינר לתת להם לאכל׃
Mar 6:38 ויאמר אליהם כמה ככרות־לחם יש לכם לכו וראו וידעו ויאמרו חמש ושני דגים׃
Mar 6:39 ויצו אותם לשבת כלם חברה חברה לבד על־ירק הדשא׃
Mar 6:40 וישבו שורות שורות למאות ולחמשים׃
Mar 6:41 ויקח את־חמשת ככרות הלחם ואת־שני הדגים וישא עיניו השמימה ויברך ויפרס את־הלחם ויתן לתלמידיו לשום לפניהם ואת־שני הדגים חלק לכלם׃
Mar 6:42 ויאכלו כלם וישבעו׃
Mar 6:43 וישאו מן־הפתותים מלוא סלים שנים עשר וגם מן־הדגים׃
Mar 6:44 והאכלים מן־הלחם היו כחמשת אלפי איש׃
Mar 6:45 ואחרי־כן האיץ בתלמידיו לרדת באניה ולעבור לפניו אל־עבר הים אל־בית צידה עד־שלחו את־העם׃
Mar 6:46 ויהי אחר שלחו אתם ויעל ההרה להתפלל׃
Mar 6:47 ויהי־ערב והאניה באה בתוך הים והוא לבדו ביבשה׃
Mar 6:48 וירא אותם מתיגעים בשוטם כי הרוח לנגדם ויהי כעת האשמרת הרביעית ויבא אליהם מתהלך על־פני הים ויואל לעבור לפניהם׃
Mar 6:49 ויראו אתו מתהלך על־פני הים ויאמרו מראה־רוח הוא ויצעקו׃
Mar 6:50 כי־כלם ראוהו ויבהלו אז דבר אתם ויאמר אליהם חזקו כי־אני הוא אל־תיראו׃
Mar 6:51 וירד אליהם באניה והרוח שככה וישתומם לבם עוד־יותר ויתמהו׃
Mar 6:52 כי לא השכילו בדבר־ככרות הלחם מפני קשי לבבם׃
Mar 6:53 ויעברו את־הים ויבאו ארצה גניסר ויקרבו אל־היבשה׃
Mar 6:54 ויהי כצאתם מן־האניה ויכירהו׃
Mar 6:55 וירוצו בכל־הככר ההוא מסביב ויחלו לשאת את־החלים במשכבות אל־כל־מקום אשר שמעו כי הוא שם׃
Mar 6:56 ובכל־מקום אשר יבא אל־הכפרים או אל־הערים ואל־השדות שם שמו את־החולים בחוצות ויתחננו לו שיגעו רק בכנף בגדו והיה כל אשר נגעו־בו ונושעו׃

Mark 6
Mar 6:1 And He went away from there and came to His own country, and His talmidim followed Him.
Mar 6:2 And Sabbath having come, He began to teach in the congregation. And many who heard Him were astonished, saying, “Where did He get all this? And what wisdom is this which is given to Him, that such miracles are done through His hands?
Mar 6:3 “Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Miryam, and brother of Ya`akov̱, and Yosĕf, and Yehuḏah, and Shimʽon? And are not His sisters here with us?” And they stumbled in Him.
Mar 6:4 And יהושע said to them, “A Navi is not unappreciated except in his own country, and among his own relatives, and in his own house.”
Mar 6:5 And He was unable to do any miracle there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick ones and healed them.
Mar 6:6 And He marveled because of their unbelief. And He was going around among the villages, teaching.
Mar 6:7 And He called the twelve near, and began to send them out two by two, and gave them authority over unclean spirits.
Mar 6:8 And He instructed them to take none at all for the journey except a staff – no bag, no bread, no copper in their money belts,
Mar 6:9 but to wear sandals, and not to wear two undergarments.
Mar 6:10 And He said to them, “Wherever you enter into a house, stay there until you leave that place.
Mar 6:11 “And any place that does not receive you or listen to you, when you leave there, shake off the dust under your feet as a witness against them. Truly, I say to you, it shall be more bearable for S’dom and Amorah in the day of judgment than for that city!”
Mar 6:12 And they went out and proclaimed that men should repent.
Mar 6:13 And they were casting out many demons, and they were anointing with oil many who were sick, and they were healing them.
Mar 6:14 And Sovereign Herodes heard, for His Name had become well-known. And he said, “Yochanan the Immerser has been raised from the dead, and because of this these powers are at work in him.”
Mar 6:15 Others said, “He is Ěliyahu.” And others said, “He is a navi – like one of the nevi’im.”
Mar 6:16 But when Herodes heard, he said, “This one is Yochanan whom I beheaded, he has been raised from the dead!”
Mar 6:17 For Herodes himself had sent and seized Yochanan, and bound him in prison because of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife, because he had married her,
Mar 6:18 for Yochanan had said to Herodes, “It is not right for you to have your brother’s wife.”
Mar 6:19 So Herodias held a grudge against him and wished to kill him, but was unable,
Mar 6:20 for Herodes feared Yochanan, knowing that he was a righteous and kadosh man, and he protected him. And when he heard him, he was much perplexed, yet heard him gladly.
Mar 6:21 And a suitable day came when Herodes on his birthday gave a feast for his great men, and the high officers, and the chief men of Galil.
Mar 6:22 And when the daughter of Herodias herself came in and danced, and pleased Herodes and those who sat with him, the sovereign said to the girl, “Ask me whatever you wish, and I shall give it to you.”
Mar 6:23 And he swore to her, “Whatever you ask me, I shall give you, up to half of my reign.”
Mar 6:24 And she went out and said to her mother, “What shall I ask?” And she said, “The head of Yochanan the Immerser!”
Mar 6:25 And coming in immediately with haste to the sovereign she asked, saying, “I wish that you give me at once the head of Yochanan the Immerser on a dish.”
Mar 6:26 And the sovereign, becoming deeply grieved, because of the oaths, and because of those who sat with him, did not wish to refuse her.
Mar 6:27 And the sovereign straightaway sent an executioner and commanded his head to be brought. And he went and beheaded him in prison,
Mar 6:28 and brought his head on a dish, and gave it to the girl. And the girl gave it to her mother.
Mar 6:29 And when his talmidim heard of it, they came and took away his dead body and laid it in a tomb.
Mar 6:30 And the emissaries gathered to יהושע and reported to Him all, both what they had done and what they had taught.
Mar 6:31 And He said to them, “Come aside by yourselves to a lonely place and rest a little” – for there were many coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat.
Mar 6:32 And they went away to a lonely place in the boat by themselves.
Mar 6:33 But they saw them going, and many recognized Him and ran there on foot from all the cities, and came before them and came together to Him.
Mar 6:34 And having gone out, יהושע saw a large crowd and was moved with compassion for them because they were like sheep not having a shepherd. And He began to teach them many matters.
Mar 6:35 And as the hour grew late, His talmidim came to Him and said, “This is a lonely place, and now the hour is late.
Mar 6:36 “Send them away, so that they go into the surrounding country and villages and buy themselves bread, since they have no food to eat.”
Mar 6:37 But He answering, said to them, “You give them to eat.” And they said to Him, “Should we go and buy two hundred silver pieces worth of bread and give them to eat?”
Mar 6:38 Then He said to them, “How many loaves do you have? Go and see.” And when they found out they said, “Five, and two fishes.”
Mar 6:39 And He ordered them to make them all sit down in groups on the green grass.
Mar 6:40 And they sat down in groups, in hundreds and in fifties.
Mar 6:41 And taking the five loaves and the two fishes, looking up to the heaven, He blessed and broke the loaves, and gave them to His taught ones to set before them. And the two fishes He divided among them all.
Mar 6:42 And all ate and were satisfied.
Mar 6:43 And they picked up twelve baskets, filled with pieces, also from the fishes.
Mar 6:44 Now those who ate the loaves were about five thousand men.
Mar 6:45 And immediately He made His talmidim enter into the boat, and to go before Him to the other side, to Bĕyth Tsaiḏa, while He was dismissing the crowd.
Mar 6:46 And having sent them away, He went away to the mountain to pray.
Mar 6:47 And when evening came, the boat was in the middle of the sea. And He was alone on the land.
Mar 6:48 And seeing them straining at rowing – for the wind was against them – at about the fourth watch of the night, He came to them walking on the sea, and He wished to pass them by.
Mar 6:49 And when they saw Him walking on the sea, they thought it was a phantom, and cried out,
Mar 6:50 for they all saw Him and were troubled. And immediately He spoke to them and said to them, “Take courage, it is I. Do not be afraid.”
Mar 6:51 And He went up to them, into the boat, and the wind ceased. And they were exceedingly amazed in themselves, and marveled.
Mar 6:52 For they did not understand about the loaves, because their heart was hardened.
Mar 6:53 And having passed over, they came to the land of Gennĕsar and drew to shore.
Mar 6:54 And when they came out of the boat, He was immediately recognized,
Mar 6:55 and all that neighborhood ran about, and began to carry about on beds those who were sick to wherever they heard He was.
Mar 6:56 And wherever He went, into villages, or cities, or the country, they were laying the sick in the market-places, and begged Him to let them touch if only the tzitzit1 of His garment. Shoftim 4:4 ודבורה אשׁה נביאה אשׁת לפידות היא שׁפטה את־ישׂראל בעת ההיא׃
Shoftim 4:5 והיא יושׁבת תחת־תמר דבורה בין הרמה ובין בית־אל בהר אפרים ויעלו אליה בני ישׂראל למשׁפט׃
Shoftim 4:6 ותשׁלח ותקרא לברק בן־אבינעם מקדשׁ נפתלי ותאמר אליו הלא צוה יהוה אלהי־ישׂראל לך ומשׁכת בהר תבור ולקחת עמך עשׂרת אלפים אישׁ מבני נפתלי ומבני זבלון׃
Shoftim 4:7 ומשׁכתי אליך אל־נחל קישׁון את־סיסרא שׂר־צבא יבין ואת־רכבו ואת־המונו ונתתיהו בידך׃
Shoftim 4:8 ויאמר אליה ברק אם־תלכי עמי והלכתי ואם־לא תלכי עמי לא אלך׃
Shoftim 4:9 ותאמר הלך אלך עמך אפס כי לא תהיה תפארתך על־הדרך אשׁר אתה הולך כי ביד־אשׁה ימכר יהוה את־סיסרא ותקם דבורה ותלך עם־ברק קדשׁה׃
Shoftim 4:10 ויזעק ברק את־זבולן ואת־נפתלי קדשׁה ויעל ברגליו עשׂרת אלפי אישׁ ותעל עמו דבורה׃
Shoftim 4:11 וחבר הקיני נפרד מקין מבני חבב חתן משׁה ויט אהלו עד־אלון בצענים אשׁר את־קדשׁ׃
Shoftim 4:12 ויגדו לסיסרא כי עלה ברק בן־אבינעם הר־תבור׃
Shoftim 4:13 ויזעק סיסרא את־כל־רכבו תשׁע מאות רכב ברזל ואת־כל־העם אשׁר אתו מחרשׁת הגוים אל־נחל קישׁון׃
Shoftim 4:14 ותאמר דברה אל־ברק קום כי זה היום אשׁר נתן יהוה את־סיסרא בידך הלא יהוה יצא לפניך וירד ברק מהר תבור ועשׂרת אלפים אישׁ אחריו׃
Shoftim 4:15 ויהם יהוה את־סיסרא ואת־כל־הרכב ואת־כל־המחנה לפי־חרב לפני ברק וירד סיסרא מעל המרכבה וינס ברגליו׃
Shoftim 4:16 וברק רדף אחרי הרכב ואחרי המחנה עד חרשׁת הגוים ויפל כל־מחנה סיסרא לפי־חרב לא נשׁאר עד־אחד׃
Shoftim 4:17 וסיסרא נס ברגליו אל־אהל יעל אשׁת חבר הקיני כי שׁלום בין יבין מלך־חצור ובין בית חבר הקיני׃
Shoftim 4:18 ותצא יעל לקראת סיסרא ותאמר אליו סורה אדני סורה אלי אל־תירא ויסר אליה האהלה ותכסהו בשׂמיכה׃
Shoftim 4:19 ויאמר אליה השׁקיני־נא מעט־מים כי צמאתי ותפתח את־נאוד החלב ותשׁקהו ותכסהו׃
Shoftim 4:20 ויאמר אליה עמד פתח האהל והיה אם־אישׁ יבוא ושׁאלך ואמר הישׁ־פה אישׁ ואמרת אין׃
Shoftim 4:21 ותקח יעל אשׁת־חבר את־יתד האהל ותשׂם את־המקבת בידה ותבוא אליו בלאט ותתקע את־היתד ברקתו ותצנח בארץ והוא־נרדם ויעף וימת׃
Shoftim 4:22 והנה ברק רדף את־סיסרא ותצא יעל לקראתו ותאמר לו לך ואראך את־האישׁ אשׁר־אתה מבקשׁ ויבא אליה והנה סיסרא נפל מת והיתד ברקתו׃
Shoftim 4:23 ויכנע אלהים ביום ההוא את יבין מלך־כנען לפני בני ישׂראל׃
Shoftim 4:24 ותלך יד בני־ישׂראל הלוך וקשׁה על יבין מלך־כנען עד אשׁר הכריתו את יבין מלך־כנען׃
Shoftim 5:1 ותשׁר דבורה וברק בן־אבינעם ביום ההוא לאמר׃
Shoftim 5:2 בפרע פרעות בישׂראל בהתנדב עם ברכו יהוה׃
Shoftim 5:3 שׁמעו מלכים האזינו רזנים אנכי ליהוה אנכי אשׁירה אזמר ליהוה אלהי ישׂראל׃
Shoftim 5:4 יהוה בצאתך משׂעיר בצעדך משׂדה אדום ארץ רעשׁה גם־שׁמים נטפו גם־עבים נטפו מים׃
Shoftim 5:5 הרים נזלו מפני יהוה זה סיני מפני יהוה אלהי ישׂראל׃
Shoftim 5:6 בימי שׁמגר בן־ענת בימי יעל חדלו ארחות והלכי נתיבות ילכו ארחות עקלקלות׃
Shoftim 5:7 חדלו פרזון בישׂראל חדלו עד שׁקמתי דבורה שׁקמתי אם בישׂראל׃
Shoftim 5:8 יבחר אלהים חדשׁים אז לחם שׁערים מגן אם־יראה ורמח בארבעים אלף בישׂראל׃
Shoftim 5:9 לבי לחוקקי ישׂראל המתנדבים בעם ברכו יהוה׃
Shoftim 5:10 רכבי אתנות צחרות ישׁבי על־מדין והלכי על־דרך שׂיחו׃
Shoftim 5:11 מקול מחצצים בין משׁאבים שׁם יתנו צדקות יהוה צדקת פרזנו בישׂראל אז ירדו לשׁערים עם־יהוה׃
Shoftim 5:12 עורי עורי דבורה עורי עורי דברי־שׁיר קום ברק ושׁבה שׁביך בן־אבינעם׃
Shoftim 5:13 אז ירד שׂריד לאדירים עם יהוה ירד־לי בגבורים׃
Shoftim 5:14 מני אפרים שׁרשׁם בעמלק אחריך בנימין בעממיך מני מכיר ירדו מחקקים ומזבולן משׁכים בשׁבט ספר׃
Shoftim 5:15 ושׂרי בישׂשכר עם־דברה וישׂשכר כן ברק בעמק שׁלח ברגליו בפלגות ראובן גדלים חקקי־לב׃
Shoftim 5:16 למה ישׁבת בין המשׁפתים לשׁמע שׁרקות עדרים לפלגות ראובן גדולים חקרי־לב׃
Shoftim 5:17 גלעד בעבר הירדן שׁכן ודן למה יגור אניות אשׁר ישׁב לחוף ימים ועל מפרציו ישׁכון׃

Shoftim 5:19 באו מלכים נלחמו אז נלחמו מלכי כנען בתענך על־מי מגדו בצע כסף לא לקחו׃

Shoftim 5:31 כן יאבדו כל־אויביך יהוה ואהביו כצאת השׁמשׁ בגברתו ותשׁקט הארץ ארבעים שׁנה׃
Shoftim 4:4 ודבורה אשׁה נביאה אשׁת לפידות היא שׁפטה את־ישׂראל בעת ההיא׃
Shoftim 4:5 והיא יושׁבת תחת־תמר דבורה בין הרמה ובין בית־אל בהר אפרים ויעלו אליה בני ישׂראל למשׁפט׃
Shoftim 4:6 ותשׁלח ותקרא לברק בן־אבינעם מקדשׁ נפתלי ותאמר אליו הלא צוה יהוה אלהי־ישׂראל לך ומשׁכת בהר תבור ולקחת עמך עשׂרת אלפים אישׁ מבני נפתלי ומבני זבלון׃
Shoftim 4:7 ומשׁכתי אליך אל־נחל קישׁון את־סיסרא שׂר־צבא יבין ואת־רכבו ואת־המונו ונתתיהו בידך׃
Shoftim 4:8 ויאמר אליה ברק אם־תלכי עמי והלכתי ואם־לא תלכי עמי לא אלך׃
Shoftim 4:9 ותאמר הלך אלך עמך אפס כי לא תהיה תפארתך על־הדרך אשׁר אתה הולך כי ביד־אשׁה ימכר יהוה את־סיסרא ותקם דבורה ותלך עם־ברק קדשׁה׃
Shoftim 4:10 ויזעק ברק את־זבולן ואת־נפתלי קדשׁה ויעל ברגליו עשׂרת אלפי אישׁ ותעל עמו דבורה׃
Shoftim 4:11 וחבר הקיני נפרד מקין מבני חבב חתן משׁה ויט אהלו עד־אלון בצענים אשׁר את־קדשׁ׃
Shoftim 4:12 ויגדו לסיסרא כי עלה ברק בן־אבינעם הר־תבור׃
Shoftim 4:13 ויזעק סיסרא את־כל־רכבו תשׁע מאות רכב ברזל ואת־כל־העם אשׁר אתו מחרשׁת הגוים אל־נחל קישׁון׃
Shoftim 4:14 ותאמר דברה אל־ברק קום כי זה היום אשׁר נתן יהוה את־סיסרא בידך הלא יהוה יצא לפניך וירד ברק מהר תבור ועשׂרת אלפים אישׁ אחריו׃
Shoftim 4:15 ויהם יהוה את־סיסרא ואת־כל־הרכב ואת־כל־המחנה לפי־חרב לפני ברק וירד סיסרא מעל המרכבה וינס ברגליו׃
Shoftim 4:16 וברק רדף אחרי הרכב ואחרי המחנה עד חרשׁת הגוים ויפל כל־מחנה סיסרא לפי־חרב לא נשׁאר עד־אחד׃
Shoftim 4:17 וסיסרא נס ברגליו אל־אהל יעל אשׁת חבר הקיני כי שׁלום בין יבין מלך־חצור ובין בית חבר הקיני׃
Shoftim 4:18 ותצא יעל לקראת סיסרא ותאמר אליו סורה אדני סורה אלי אל־תירא ויסר אליה האהלה ותכסהו בשׂמיכה׃
Shoftim 4:19 ויאמר אליה השׁקיני־נא מעט־מים כי צמאתי ותפתח את־נאוד החלב ותשׁקהו ותכסהו׃

Shoftim 4:4 And Deḇorah, a prophetess, the wife of Lappiḏoth, was ruling Yisra’ĕl at that time.
Shoftim 4:5 And she was dwelling under the palm tree of Deḇorah between Ramah and Bĕyth Ěl in the mountains of Ephrayim. And the children of Yisra’ĕl came up to her for right-ruling.
Shoftim 4:6 And she sent and called for Baraq son of Aḇinoʽam from Qeḏesh in Naphtali, and said to him, “Has not יהוה Elohim of Yisra’ĕl commanded, ‘Go, and you shall draw towards Mount Taḇor, and shall take with you ten thousand men of the sons of Naphtali and of the sons of Zeḇulun,
Shoftim 4:7 and I shall draw unto you Sisera, the commander of Yaḇin’s army, with his chariots and his company at the wadi Qishon, and shall give him into your hand’?”
Shoftim 4:8 And Baraq said to her, “If you go with me, then I shall go; but if you do not go with me, I do not go.”
Shoftim 4:9 And she said, “I shall certainly go with you. Only, there shall be no esteem for you in the journey you are taking, for יהוה is going to sell Sisera into the hand of a woman.” So Deḇorah arose and went with Baraq to Qeḏesh.
Shoftim 4:10 And Baraq called Zeḇulun and Naphtali to Qeḏesh. And he went up – ten thousand men under his command – and Deḇorah went up with him.
Shoftim 4:11 And Ḥeḇer the Qĕynite, of the children of Ḥoḇaḇ the father-in-law of Moshe, had separated himself from the Qĕynites and pitched his tent near the terebinth tree at Tsaʽanayim, which is beside Qeḏesh.
Shoftim 4:12 And they reported to Sisera that Baraq son of Aḇinoʽam had gone up to Mount Taḇor.
Shoftim 4:13 So Sisera called all his chariots, nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people who were with him, from Ḥarosheth Haggoyim to the wadi Qishon.
Shoftim 4:14 And Deḇorah said to Baraq, “Rise up! For this is the day in which יהוה has given Sisera into your hand. Has not יהוה gone out before you?” And Baraq went down from Mount Taḇor with ten thousand men after him.
Shoftim 4:15 And יהוה destroyed Sisera and all his chariots and all his army with the edge of the sword before Baraq. And Sisera leaped from his chariot and fled away on foot.
Shoftim 4:16 But Baraq pursued the chariots and the army as far as Ḥarosheth Haggoyim, and all the army of Sisera fell by the edge of the sword, not one was left.
Shoftim 4:17 Sisera, meanwhile, had fled on foot to the tent of Yaʽĕl, the wife of Ḥeḇer the Qĕynite, for there was peace between Yaḇin sovereign of Ḥatsor and the house of Ḥeḇer the Qĕynite.
Shoftim 4:18 And Yaʽĕl went out to meet Sisera, and said to him, “Turn aside, my master, turn aside to me, do not fear.” So he turned aside with her into the tent, and she covered him with a blanket.
Shoftim 4:19 And he said to her, “Please give me a little water to drink, for I am thirsty.” So she opened a bottle of milk, and gave him a drink, and covered him.
Shoftim 4:20 And he said to her, “Stand at the door of the tent, and it shall be if anyone comes and asks you, and says, ‘Is there a man here?’ you shall say, ‘No.’ ”
Shoftim 4:21 But Yaʽĕl, Ḥeḇer’s wife, took a tent peg and took a hammer in her hand, and went softly to him and drove the peg into the side of his head, and it went down into the ground – for he was fast asleep and exhausted – and he died.
Shoftim 4:22 And see, as Baraq pursued Sisera, Yaʽĕl came out to meet him, and said to him, “Come, let me show you the man whom you are seeking.” And when he went into her tent, there lay Sisera, dead with the peg in the side of his head.
Shoftim 4:23 And on that day Elohim humbled Yaḇin sovereign of Kenaʽan in the presence of the children of Yisra’ĕl.
Shoftim 4:24 And the hand of the children of Yisra’ĕl grew stronger and stronger against Yaḇin sovereign of Kenaʽan, until they had cut off Yaḇin sovereign of Kenaʽan.
Shoftim 5:1 And on that day Deḇorah and Baraq son of Aḇinoʽam sang, saying,
Shoftim 5:2 “For leaders leading in Yisra’ĕl, for the people volunteering, bless יהוה!
Shoftim 5:3 “Hear, O sovereigns! Give ear, O princes! I, I do sing to יהוה; I sing praise to יהוה Elohim of Yisra’ĕl.
Shoftim 5:4 “יהוה, when You went out from Sĕʽir, when You stepped from the field of Eḏom, the earth shook and the heavens poured, the clouds also poured water.
Shoftim 5:5 “The mountains flowed at the presence of יהוה, this Sinai, at the presence of יהוה Elohim of Yisra’ĕl.
Shoftim 5:6 “In the days of Shamgar, the son of Anath, in the days of Yaʽĕl, the highways were deserted, and the travelers went in crooked ways.
Shoftim 5:7 “Leadership ceased, it ceased in Yisra’ĕl, until I, Deḇorah, arose – a mother in Yisra’ĕl arose.
Shoftim 5:8 “They chose new mighty ones, then fighting was in the gates! Neither a shield nor spear was seen among forty thousand in Yisra’ĕl.
Shoftim 5:9 “My heart is towards the lawgivers of Yisra’ĕl, the volunteers among the people. Bless יהוה!
Shoftim 5:10 “You who ride on white donkeys, you who sit on rich carpets, and you who walk along the way, declare it!
Shoftim 5:11 “By the voice of shouters, between the places of drawing water, there they recount the righteous acts of יהוה, the righteous acts of His leadership in Yisra’ĕl; then the people of יהוה shall go down to the gates.
Shoftim 5:12 “Wake up, wake up, Deḇorah! Wake up, wake up, sing a song! Arise, Baraq, and lead your captives away, O son of Aḇinoʽam!
Shoftim 5:13 “Then He set the remnant to rule the nobles; יהוה came down for me against the mighty ones.
Shoftim 5:14 “Out of Ephrayim their root is against Amalĕq. After you, Binyamin, with your peoples, out of Maḵir lawgivers came down, and out of Zeḇulun those who handle the scribe’s reed.
Shoftim 5:15 “And the heads of Yissasḵar were with Deḇorah. And as Yissasḵar, so was Baraq sent into the valley under his command. Among the divisions of Re’uḇĕn there were great searchings of heart.
Shoftim 5:16 “Why did you remain among the sheepfolds, to hear the bleatings of the flocks? The divisions of Re’uḇĕn have great searchings of heart.
Shoftim 5:17 “Gilʽaḏ remained beyond the Yardĕn, and why did Dan remain on ships? Ashĕr continued at the seashore, and remained by its landing places.
Shoftim 5:18 “Zeḇulun is a people who risked their lives to the point of death, Naphtali also, on the heights of the field.
Shoftim 5:19 “Sovereigns came, they fought, then the sovereigns of Kenaʽan fought in Taʽanaḵ, by the waters of Meḡiddo; they took no spoils of silver.
Shoftim 5:20 “From the heavens they fought; the stars from their courses fought against Sisera.
Shoftim 5:21 “The wadi of Qishon swept them away, that age-old wadi, the wadi of Qishon. O my being, you have trampled in strength!
Shoftim 5:22 “Then stamped hoofs of horses, with the galloping, galloping of his steeds.
Shoftim 5:23 ‘Curse Mĕroz,’ said a messenger of יהוה, ‘curse, curse its inhabitants, because they did not come to the help of יהוה, to the help of יהוה among the mighty.’
Shoftim 5:24 “Blessed above women is Yaʽĕl, the wife of Ḥeḇer the Qĕynite – above women in tents she is blessed.
Shoftim 5:25 “He asked for water, she gave milk; she brought out curdled milk in a bowl for nobles.
Shoftim 5:26 “She stretched her hand to the tent peg, and her right hand to the workmen’s hammer. Then she pounded Sisera, she smashed his head, she pierced and struck through the side of his head.
Shoftim 5:27 “Between her feet he bowed, he fell, he lay still; between her feet he bowed, he fell; where he bowed, there he fell – destroyed.
Shoftim 5:28 “Through the window the mother of Sisera looked, and cried out through the lattice, ‘Why does his chariot delay to come? Why have the steps of his chariots tarried?’
Shoftim 5:29 “The wise ones of her princesses answered her, indeed, she answered herself,
Shoftim 5:30 ‘Do they not find and divide the spoil: a girl or two for each man; a spoil of dyed work for Sisera, a spoil of dyed work embroidered, dyed work richly embroidered for the necks of the looter?’
Shoftim 5:31 “So do all Your enemies perish, O יהוה! But let those who love Him be like the sun rising in its might!” And the land had rest forty years.

Shoftim 4:13 So Sisera called all his chariots, nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people who were with him, from Ḥarosheth Haggoyim to the wadi Qishon.
Shoftim 4:14 And Deḇorah said to Baraq, “Rise up! For this is the day in which יהוה has given Sisera into your hand. Has not יהוה gone out before you?” And Baraq went down from Mount Taḇor with ten thousand men after him.
Shoftim 4:15 And יהוה destroyed Sisera and all his chariots and all his army with the edge of the sword before Baraq. And Sisera leaped from his chariot and fled away on foot.
Shoftim 4:16 But Baraq pursued the chariots and the army as far as Ḥarosheth Haggoyim, and all the army of Sisera fell by the edge of the sword, not one was left.
Shoftim 4:17 Sisera, meanwhile, had fled on foot to the tent of Yaʽĕl, the wife of Ḥeḇer the Qĕynite, for there was peace between Yaḇin sovereign of Ḥatsor and the house of Ḥeḇer the Qĕynite.
Shoftim 4:18 And Yaʽĕl went out to meet Sisera, and said to him, “Turn aside, my master, turn aside to me, do not fear.” So he turned aside with her into the tent, and she covered him with a blanket.
Shoftim 4:19 And he said to her, “Please give me a little water to drink, for I am thirsty.” So she opened a bottle of milk, and gave him a drink, and covered him.
Shoftim 4:20 And he said to her, “Stand at the door of the tent, and it shall be if anyone comes and asks you, and says, ‘Is there a man here?’ you shall say, ‘No.’ ”
Shoftim 4:21 But Yaʽĕl, Ḥeḇer’s wife, took a tent peg and took a hammer in her hand, and went softly to him and drove the peg into the side of his head, and it went down into the ground – for he was fast asleep and exhausted – and he died.
Shoftim 4:22 And see, as Baraq pursued Sisera, Yaʽĕl came out to meet him, and said to him, “Come, let me show you the man whom you are seeking.” And when he went into her tent, there lay Sisera, dead with the peg in the side of his head.
Shoftim 4:23 And on that day Elohim humbled Yaḇin sovereign of Kenaʽan in the presence of the children of Yisra’ĕl.
Shoftim 4:24 And the hand of the children of Yisra’ĕl grew stronger and stronger against Yaḇin sovereign of Kenaʽan, until they had cut off Yaḇin sovereign of Kenaʽan.
Shoftim 5:1 And on that day Deḇorah and Baraq son of Aḇinoʽam sang, saying,
Shoftim 5:2 “For leaders leading in Yisra’ĕl, for the people volunteering, bless יהוה!
Shoftim 5:3 “Hear, O sovereigns! Give ear, O princes! I, I do sing to יהוה; I sing praise to יהוה Elohim of Yisra’ĕl.
Shoftim 5:4 “יהוה, when You went out from Sĕʽir, when You stepped from the field of Eḏom, the earth shook and the heavens poured, the clouds also poured water.
Shoftim 5:5 “The mountains flowed at the presence of יהוה, this Sinai, at the presence of יהוה Elohim of Yisra’ĕl.
Shoftim 5:6 “In the days of Shamgar, the son of Anath, in the days of Yaʽĕl, the highways were deserted, and the travelers went in crooked ways.
Shoftim 5:7 “Leadership ceased, it ceased in Yisra’ĕl, until I, Deḇorah, arose – a mother in Yisra’ĕl arose.
Shoftim 5:8 “They chose new mighty ones, then fighting was in the gates! Neither a shield nor spear was seen among forty thousand in Yisra’ĕl.
Shoftim 5:9 “My heart is towards the lawgivers of Yisra’ĕl, the volunteers among the people. Bless יהוה!
Shoftim 5:10 “You who ride on white donkeys, you who sit on rich carpets, and you who walk along the way, declare it!
Shoftim 5:11 “By the voice of shouters, between the places of drawing water, there they recount the righteous acts of יהוה, the righteous acts of His leadership in Yisra’ĕl; then the people of יהוה shall go down to the gates.
Shoftim 5:12 “Wake up, wake up, Deḇorah! Wake up, wake up, sing a song! Arise, Baraq, and lead your captives away, O son of Aḇinoʽam!
Shoftim 5:13 “Then He set the remnant to rule the nobles; יהוה came down for me against the mighty ones.
Shoftim 5:14 “Out of Ephrayim their root is against Amalĕq. After you, Binyamin, with your peoples, out of Maḵir lawgivers came down, and out of Zeḇulun those who handle the scribe’s reed.
Shoftim 5:15 “And the heads of Yissasḵar were with Deḇorah. And as Yissasḵar, so was Baraq sent into the valley under his command. Among the divisions of Re’uḇĕn there were great searchings of heart.
Shoftim 5:16 “Why did you remain among the sheepfolds, to hear the bleatings of the flocks? The divisions of Re’uḇĕn have great searchings of heart.
Shoftim 5:17 “Gilʽaḏ remained beyond the Yardĕn, and why did Dan remain on ships? Ashĕr continued at the seashore, and remained by its landing places.
Shoftim 5:18 “Zeḇulun is a people who risked their lives to the point of death, Naphtali also, on the heights of the field.
Shoftim 5:19 “Sovereigns came, they fought, then the sovereigns of Kenaʽan fought in Taʽanaḵ, by the waters of Meḡiddo; they took no spoils of silver.
Shoftim 5:20 “From the heavens they fought; the stars from their courses fought against Sisera.
Shoftim 5:21 “The wadi of Qishon swept them away, that age-old wadi, the wadi of Qishon. O my being, you have trampled in strength!
Shoftim 5:22 “Then stamped hoofs of horses, with the galloping, galloping of his steeds.
Shoftim 5:23 ‘Curse Mĕroz,’ said a messenger of יהוה, ‘curse, curse its inhabitants, because they did not come to the help of יהוה, to the help of יהוה among the mighty.’

Shoftim 5:28 “Through the window the mother of Sisera looked, and cried out through the lattice, ‘Why does his chariot delay to come? Why have the steps of his chariots tarried?’
Shoftim 5:29 “The wise ones of her princesses answered her, indeed, she answered herself,
Shoftim 5:30 ‘Do they not find and divide the spoil: a girl or two for each man; a spoil of dyed work for Sisera, a spoil of dyed work embroidered, dyed work richly embroidered for the necks of the looter?’
Shoftim 5:31 “So do all Your enemies perish, O יהוה! But let those who love Him be like the sun rising in its might!” And the land had rest forty years.

Shemot 13:17 ויהי בשׁלח פרעה את־העם ולא־נחם אלהים דרך ארץ פלשׁתים כי קרוב הוא כי אמר אלהים פן־ינחם העם בראתם מלחמה ושׁבו מצרימה׃
Shemot 13:18 ויסב אלהים את־העם דרך המדבר ים־סוף וחמשׁים עלו בני־ישׂראל מארץ מצרים׃
Shemot 13:19 ויקח משׁה את־עצמות יוסף עמו כי השׁבע השׁביע את־בני ישׂראל לאמר פקד יפקד אלהים אתכם והעליתם את־עצמתי מזה אתכם׃
Shemot 13:20 ויסעו מסכת ויחנו באתם בקצה המדבר׃
Shemot 13:21 ויהוה הלך לפניהם יומם בעמוד ענן לנחתם הדרך ולילה בעמוד אשׁ להאיר להם ללכת יומם ולילה׃
Shemot 13:22 לא־ימישׁ עמוד הענן יומם ועמוד האשׁ לילה לפני העם׃
Shemot 14:1 וידבר יהוה אל־משׁה לאמר׃
Shemot 14:2 דבר אל־בני ישׂראל וישׁבו ויחנו לפני פי החירת בין מגדל ובין הים לפני בעל צפן נכחו תחנו על־הים׃
Shemot 14:3 ואמר פרעה לבני ישׂראל נבכים הם בארץ סגר עליהם המדבר׃
Shemot 14:4 וחזקתי את־לב־פרעה ורדף אחריהם ואכבדה בפרעה ובכל־חילו וידעו מצרים כי־אני יהוה ויעשׂו־כן׃
Shemot 14:5 ויגד למלך מצרים כי ברח העם ויהפך לבב פרעה ועבדיו אל־העם ויאמרו מה־זאת עשׂינו כי־שׁלחנו את־ישׂראל מעבדנו׃
Shemot 14:6 ויאסר את־רכבו ואת־עמו לקח עמו׃
Shemot 14:7 ויקח שׁשׁ־מאות רכב בחור וכל רכב מצרים ושׁלשׁם על־כלו׃
Shemot 14:8 ויחזק יהוה את־לב פרעה מלך מצרים וירדף אחרי בני ישׂראל ובני ישׂראל יצאים ביד רמה׃
Shemot 14:9 וירדפו מצרים אחריהם וישׂיגו אותם חנים על־הים כל־סוס רכב פרעה ופרשׁיו וחילו על־פי החירת לפני בעל צפן׃
Shemot 14:10 ופרעה הקריב וישׂאו בני־ישׂראל את־עיניהם והנה מצרים נסע אחריהם וייראו מאד ויצעקו בני־ישׂראל אל־יהוה׃
Shemot 14:11 ויאמרו אל־משׁה המבלי אין־קברים במצרים לקחתנו למות במדבר מה־זאת עשׂית לנו להוציאנו ממצרים׃
Shemot 14:12 הלא־זה הדבר אשׁר דברנו אליך במצרים לאמר חדל ממנו ונעבדה את־מצרים כי טוב לנו עבד את־מצרים ממתנו במדבר׃
Shemot 14:13 ויאמר משׁה אל־העם אל־תיראו התיצבו וראו את־ישׁועת יהוה אשׁר־יעשׂה לכם היום כי אשׁר ראיתם את־מצרים היום לא תספו לראתם עוד עד־עולם׃
Shemot 14:14 יהוה ילחם לכם ואתם תחרשׁון׃
Shemot 14:15 ויאמר יהוה אל־משׁה מה־תצעק אלי דבר אל־בני־ישׂראל ויסעו׃
Shemot 14:16 ואתה הרם את־מטך ונטה את־ידך על־הים ובקעהו ויבאו בני־ישׂראל בתוך הים ביבשׁה׃
Shemot 14:17 ואני הנני מחזק את־לב מצרים ויבאו אחריהם ואכבדה בפרעה ובכל־חילו ברכבו ובפרשׁיו׃
Shemot 14:18 וידעו מצרים כי־אני יהוה בהכבדי בפרעה ברכבו ובפרשׁיו׃
Shemot 14:19 ויסע מלאך האלהים ההלך לפני מחנה ישׂראל וילך מאחריהם ויסע עמוד הענן מפניהם ויעמד מאחריהם׃
Shemot 14:20 ויבא בין מחנה מצרים ובין מחנה ישׂראל ויהי הענן והחשׁך ויאר את־הלילה ולא־קרב זה אל־זה כל־הלילה׃
Shemot 14:21 ויט משׁה את־ידו על־הים ויולך יהוה את־הים ברוח קדים עזה כל־הלילה וישׂם את־הים לחרבה ויבקעו המים׃
Shemot 14:22 ויבאו בני־ישׂראל בתוך הים ביבשׁה והמים להם חומה מימינם ומשׂמאלם׃
Shemot 14:23 וירדפו מצרים ויבאו אחריהם כל סוס פרעה רכבו ופרשׁיו אל־תוך הים׃
Shemot 14:24 ויהי באשׁמרת הבקר וישׁקף יהוה אל־מחנה מצרים בעמוד אשׁ וענן ויהם את מחנה מצרים׃
Shemot 14:25 ויסר את אפן מרכבתיו וינהגהו בכבדת ויאמר מצרים אנוסה מפני ישׂראל כי יהוה נלחם להם במצרים׃
Shemot 14:26 ויאמר יהוה אל־משׁה נטה את־ידך על־הים וישׁבו המים על־מצרים על־רכבו ועל־פרשׁיו׃
Shemot 14:27 ויט משׁה את־ידו על־הים וישׁב הים לפנות בקר לאיתנו ומצרים נסים לקראתו וינער יהוה את־מצרים בתוך הים׃
Shemot 14:28 וישׁבו המים ויכסו את־הרכב ואת־הפרשׁים לכל חיל פרעה הבאים אחריהם בים לא־נשׁאר בהם עד־אחד׃
Shemot 14:29 ובני ישׂראל הלכו ביבשׁה בתוך הים והמים להם חמה מימינם ומשׂמאלם׃
Shemot 14:30 ויושׁע יהוה ביום ההוא את־ישׂראל מיד מצרים וירא ישׂראל את־מצרים מת על־שׂפת הים׃
Shemot 14:31 וירא ישׂראל את־היד הגדלה אשׁר עשׂה יהוה במצרים וייראו העם את־יהוה ויאמינו ביהוה ובמשׁה עבדו׃
Shemot 15:1 אז ישׁיר־משׁה ובני ישׂראל את־השׁירה הזאת ליהוה ויאמרו לאמר אשׁירה ליהוה כי־גאה גאה סוס ורכבו רמה בים׃
Shemot 15:2 עזי וזמרת יה ויהי־לי לישׁועה זה אלי ואנוהו אלהי אבי וארממנהו׃
Shemot 15:3 יהוה אישׁ מלחמה יהוה שׁמו׃
Shemot 15:4 מרכבת פרעה וחילו ירה בים ומבחר שׁלשׁיו טבעו בים־סוף׃
Shemot 15:5 תהמת יכסימו ירדו במצולת כמו־אבן׃
Shemot 15:6 ימינך יהוה נאדרי בכח ימינך יהוה תרעץ אויב׃

Shemot 15:16 תפל עליהם אימתה ופחד בגדל זרועך ידמו כאבן עד־יעבר עמך יהוה עד־יעבר עם־זו קנית׃
Shemot 15:17 תבאמו ותטעמו בהר נחלתך מכון לשׁבתך פעלת יהוה מקדשׁ אדני כוננו ידיך׃
Shemot 15:18 יהוה ימלך לעלם ועד׃
Shemot 15:19 כי בא סוס פרעה ברכבו ובפרשׁיו בים וישׁב יהוה עלהם את־מי הים ובני ישׂראל הלכו ביבשׁה בתוך הים׃
Shemot 15:20 ותקח מרים הנביאה אחות אהרן את־התף בידה ותצאן כל־הנשׁים אחריה בתפים ובמחלת׃
Shemot 15:21 ותען להם מרים שׁירו ליהוה כי־גאה גאה סוס ורכבו רמה בים׃
Shemot 15:22 ויסע משׁה את־ישׂראל מים־סוף ויצאו אל־מדבר־שׁור וילכו שׁלשׁת־ימים במדבר ולא־מצאו מים׃
Shemot 15:23 ויבאו מרתה ולא יכלו לשׁתת מים ממרה כי מרים הם על־כן קרא־שׁמה מרה׃
Shemot 15:24 וילנו העם על־משׁה לאמר מה־נשׁתה׃
Shemot 15:25 ויצעק אל־יהוה ויורהו יהוה עץ וישׁלך אל־המים וימתקו המים שׁם שׂם לו חק ומשׁפט ושׁם נסהו׃
Shemot 15:26 ויאמר אם־שׁמוע תשׁמע לקול יהוה אלהיך והישׁר בעיניו תעשׂה והאזנת למצותיו ושׁמרת כל־חקיו כל־המחלה אשׁר־שׂמתי במצרים לא־אשׂים עליך כי אני יהוה רפאך׃
Shemot 15:27 ויבאו אילמה ושׁם שׁתים עשׂרה עינת מים ושׁבעים תמרים ויחנו־שׁם על־המים׃
Shemot 16:1 ויסעו מאילם ויבאו כל־עדת בני־ישׂראל אל־מדבר־סין אשׁר בין־אילם ובין סיני בחמשׁה עשׂר יום לחדשׁ השׁני לצאתם מארץ מצרים׃
Shemot 16:2 וילינו כל־עדת בני־ישׂראל על־משׁה ועל־אהרן במדבר׃
Shemot 16:3 ויאמרו אלהם בני ישׂראל מי־יתן מותנו ביד־יהוה בארץ מצרים בשׁבתנו על־סיר הבשׂר באכלנו לחם לשׂבע כי־הוצאתם אתנו אל־המדבר הזה להמית את־כל־הקהל הזה ברעב׃
Shemot 16:4 ויאמר יהוה אל־משׁה הנני ממטיר לכם לחם מן־השׁמים ויצא העם ולקטו דבר־יום ביומו למען אנסנו הילך בתורתי אם־לא׃
Shemot 16:5 והיה ביום השׁשׁי והכינו את אשׁר־יביאו והיה משׁנה על אשׁר־ילקטו יום יום׃
Shemot 16:6 ויאמר משׁה ואהרן אל־כל־בני ישׂראל ערב וידעתם כי יהוה הוציא אתכם מארץ מצרים׃
Shemot 16:7 ובקר וראיתם את־כבוד יהוה בשׁמעו את־תלנתיכם על־יהוה ונחנו מה כי תלונו עלינו׃
Shemot 16:8 ויאמר משׁה בתת יהוה לכם בערב בשׂר לאכל ולחם בבקר לשׂבע בשׁמע יהוה את־תלנתיכם אשׁר־אתם מלינם עליו ונחנו מה לא־עלינו תלנתיכם כי על־יהוה׃
Shemot 16:9 ויאמר משׁה אל־אהרן אמר אל־כל־עדת בני ישׂראל קרבו לפני יהוה כי שׁמע את תלנתיכם׃
Shemot 16:10 ויהי כדבר אהרן אל־כל־עדת בני־ישׂראל ויפנו אל־המדבר והנה כבוד יהוה נראה בענן׃
Shemot 16:11 וידבר יהוה אל־משׁה לאמר׃
Shemot 16:12 שׁמעתי את־תלונת בני ישׂראל דבר אלהם לאמר בין הערבים תאכלו בשׂר ובבקר תשׂבעו־לחם וידעתם כי אני יהוה אלהיכם׃
Shemot 16:13 ויהי בערב ותעל השׂלו ותכס את־המחנה ובבקר היתה שׁכבת הטל סביב למחנה׃
Shemot 16:14 ותעל שׁכבת הטל והנה על־פני המדבר דק מחספס דק ככפר על־הארץ׃
Shemot 16:15 ויראו בני־ישׂראל ויאמרו אישׁ אל־אחיו מן הוא כי לא ידעו מה־הוא ויאמר משׁה אלהם הוא הלחם אשׁר נתן יהוה לכם לאכלה׃
Shemot 16:16 זה הדבר אשׁר צוה יהוה לקטו ממנו אישׁ לפי אכלו עמר לגלגלת מספר נפשׁתיכם אישׁ לאשׁר באהלו תקחו׃
Shemot 16:17 ויעשׂו־כן בני ישׂראל וילקטו המרבה והממעיט׃
Shemot 16:18 וימדו בעמר ולא העדיף המרבה והממעיט לא החסיר אישׁ לפי־אכלו לקטו׃
Shemot 16:19 ויאמר משׁה אלהם אישׁ אל־יותר ממנו עד־בקר׃
Shemot 16:20 ולא־שׁמעו אל־משׁה ויותרו אנשׁים ממנו עד־בקר וירם תולעים ויבאשׁ ויקצף עלהם משׁה׃
Shemot 16:21 וילקטו אתו בבקר בבקר אישׁ כפי אכלו וחם השׁמשׁ ונמס׃
Shemot 16:22 ויהי ביום השׁשׁי לקטו לחם משׁנה שׁני העמר לאחד ויבאו כל־נשׂיאי העדה ויגידו למשׁה׃
Shemot 16:23 ויאמר אלהם הוא אשׁר דבר יהוה שׁבתון שׁבת־קדשׁ ליהוה מחר את אשׁר־תאפו אפו ואת אשׁר־תבשׁלו בשׁלו ואת כל־העדף הניחו לכם למשׁמרת עד־הבקר׃
Shemot 16:24 ויניחו אתו עד־הבקר כאשׁר צוה משׁה ולא הבאישׁ ורמה לא־היתה בו׃
Shemot 16:25 ויאמר משׁה אכלהו היום כי־שׁבת היום ליהוה היום לא תמצאהו בשׂדה׃
Shemot 16:26 שׁשׁת ימים תלקטהו וביום השׁביעי שׁבת לא יהיה־בו׃
Shemot 16:27 ויהי ביום השׁביעי יצאו מן־העם ללקט ולא מצאו׃
Shemot 16:28 ויאמר יהוה אל־משׁה עד־אנה מאנתם לשׁמר מצותי ותורתי׃
Shemot 16:29 ראו כי־יהוה נתן לכם השׁבת על־כן הוא נתן לכם ביום השׁשׁי לחם יומים שׁבו אישׁ תחתיו אל־יצא אישׁ ממקמו ביום השׁביעי׃
Shemot 16:30 וישׁבתו העם ביום השׁבעי׃
Shemot 16:31 ויקראו בית־ישׂראל את־שׁמו מן והוא כזרע גד לבן וטעמו כצפיחת בדבשׁ׃
Shemot 16:32 ויאמר משׁה זה הדבר אשׁר צוה יהוה מלא העמר ממנו למשׁמרת לדרתיכם למען יראו את־הלחם אשׁר האכלתי אתכם במדבר בהוציאי אתכם מארץ מצרים׃
Shemot 16:33 ויאמר משׁה אל־אהרן קח צנצנת אחת ותן־שׁמה מלא־העמר מן והנח אתו לפני יהוה למשׁמרת לדרתיכם׃
Shemot 16:34 כאשׁר צוה יהוה אל־משׁה ויניחהו אהרן לפני העדת למשׁמרת׃
Shemot 16:35 ובני ישׂראל אכלו את־המן ארבעים שׁנה עד־באם אל־ארץ נושׁבת את־המן אכלו עד־באם אל־קצה ארץ כנען׃
Shemot 16:36 והעמר עשׂרית האיפה הוא׃
Shemot 17:1 ויסעו כל־עדת בני־ישׂראל ממדבר־סין למסעיהם על־פי יהוה ויחנו ברפידים ואין מים לשׁתת העם׃
Shemot 17:2 וירב העם עם־משׁה ויאמרו תנו־לנו מים ונשׁתה ויאמר להם משׁה מה־תריבון עמדי מה־תנסון את־יהוה׃
Shemot 17:3 ויצמא שׁם העם למים וילן העם על־משׁה ויאמר למה זה העליתנו ממצרים להמית אתי ואת־בני ואת־מקני בצמא׃
Shemot 17:4 ויצעק משׁה אל־יהוה לאמר מה אעשׂה לעם הזה עוד מעט וסקלני׃
Shemot 17:5 ויאמר יהוה אל־משׁה עבר לפני העם וקח אתך מזקני ישׂראל ומטך אשׁר הכית בו את־היאר קח בידך והלכת׃
Shemot 17:6 הנני עמד לפניך שׁם על־הצור בחרב והכית בצור ויצאו ממנו מים ושׁתה העם ויעשׂ כן משׁה לעיני זקני ישׂראל׃
Shemot 17:7 ויקרא שׁם המקום מסה ומריבה על־ריב בני ישׂראל ועל נסתם את־יהוה לאמר הישׁ יהוה בקרבנו אם־אין׃
Shemot 17:8 ויבא עמלק וילחם עם־ישׂראל ברפידם׃
Shemot 17:9 ויאמר משׁה אל־יהושׁע בחר־לנו אנשׁים וצא הלחם בעמלק מחר אנכי נצב על־ראשׁ הגבעה ומטה האלהים בידי׃
Shemot 17:10 ויעשׂ יהושׁע כאשׁר אמר־לו משׁה להלחם בעמלק ומשׁה אהרן וחור עלו ראשׁ הגבעה׃
Shemot 17:11 והיה כאשׁר ירים משׁה ידו וגבר ישׂראל וכאשׁר יניח ידו וגבר עמלק׃
Shemot 17:12 וידי משׁה כבדים ויקחו־אבן וישׂימו תחתיו וישׁב עליה ואהרן וחור תמכו בידיו מזה אחד ומזה אחד ויהי ידיו אמונה עד־בא השׁמשׁ׃
Shemot 17:13 ויחלשׁ יהושׁע את־עמלק ואת־עמו לפי־חרב׃
Shemot 17:14 ויאמר יהוה אל־משׁה כתב זאת זכרון בספר ושׂים באזני יהושׁע כי־מחה אמחה את־זכר עמלק מתחת השׁמים׃
Shemot 17:15 ויבן משׁה מזבח ויקרא שׁמו יהוה נסי׃
Shemot 17:16 ויאמר כי־יד על־כס יה מלחמה ליהוה בעמלק מדר דר׃
Shemot 13:17 ויהי בשׁלח פרעה את־העם ולא־נחם אלהים דרך ארץ פלשׁתים כי קרוב הוא כי אמר אלהים פן־ינחם העם בראתם מלחמה ושׁבו מצרימה׃
Shemot 13:18 ויסב אלהים את־העם דרך המדבר ים־סוף וחמשׁים עלו בני־ישׂראל מארץ מצרים׃
Shemot 13:19 ויקח משׁה את־עצמות יוסף עמו כי השׁבע השׁביע את־בני ישׂראל לאמר פקד יפקד אלהים אתכם והעליתם את־עצמתי מזה אתכם׃
Shemot 13:20 ויסעו מסכת ויחנו באתם בקצה המדבר׃
Shemot 13:21 ויהוה הלך לפניהם יומם בעמוד ענן לנחתם הדרך ולילה בעמוד אשׁ להאיר להם ללכת יומם ולילה׃
Shemot 13:22 לא־ימישׁ עמוד הענן יומם ועמוד האשׁ לילה לפני העם׃
Shemot 14:1 וידבר יהוה אל־משׁה לאמר׃
Shemot 14:2 דבר אל־בני ישׂראל וישׁבו ויחנו לפני פי החירת בין מגדל ובין הים לפני בעל צפן נכחו תחנו על־הים׃
Shemot 14:3 ואמר פרעה לבני ישׂראל נבכים הם בארץ סגר עליהם המדבר׃
Shemot 14:4 וחזקתי את־לב־פרעה ורדף אחריהם ואכבדה בפרעה ובכל־חילו וידעו מצרים כי־אני יהוה ויעשׂו־כן׃
Shemot 14:5 ויגד למלך מצרים כי ברח העם ויהפך לבב פרעה ועבדיו אל־העם ויאמרו מה־זאת עשׂינו כי־שׁלחנו את־ישׂראל מעבדנו׃
Shemot 14:6 ויאסר את־רכבו ואת־עמו לקח עמו׃
Shemot 14:7 ויקח שׁשׁ־מאות רכב בחור וכל רכב מצרים ושׁלשׁם על־כלו׃
Shemot 14:8 ויחזק יהוה את־לב פרעה מלך מצרים וירדף אחרי בני ישׂראל ובני ישׂראל יצאים ביד רמה׃
Shemot 14:9 וירדפו מצרים אחריהם וישׂיגו אותם חנים על־הים כל־סוס רכב פרעה ופרשׁיו וחילו על־פי החירת לפני בעל צפן׃
Shemot 14:10 ופרעה הקריב וישׂאו בני־ישׂראל את־עיניהם והנה מצרים נסע אחריהם וייראו מאד ויצעקו בני־ישׂראל אל־יהוה׃
Shemot 14:11 ויאמרו אל־משׁה המבלי אין־קברים במצרים לקחתנו למות במדבר מה־זאת עשׂית לנו להוציאנו ממצרים׃
Shemot 14:12 הלא־זה הדבר אשׁר דברנו אליך במצרים לאמר חדל ממנו ונעבדה את־מצרים כי טוב לנו עבד את־מצרים ממתנו במדבר׃
Shemot 14:13 ויאמר משׁה אל־העם אל־תיראו התיצבו וראו את־ישׁועת יהוה אשׁר־יעשׂה לכם היום כי אשׁר ראיתם את־מצרים היום לא תספו לראתם עוד עד־עולם׃
Shemot 14:14 יהוה ילחם לכם ואתם תחרשׁון׃
Shemot 14:15 ויאמר יהוה אל־משׁה מה־תצעק אלי דבר אל־בני־ישׂראל ויסעו׃
Shemot 14:16 ואתה הרם את־מטך ונטה את־ידך על־הים ובקעהו ויבאו בני־ישׂראל בתוך הים ביבשׁה׃
Shemot 14:17 ואני הנני מחזק את־לב מצרים ויבאו אחריהם ואכבדה בפרעה ובכל־חילו ברכבו ובפרשׁיו׃
Shemot 14:18 וידעו מצרים כי־אני יהוה בהכבדי בפרעה ברכבו ובפרשׁיו׃
Shemot 14:19 ויסע מלאך האלהים ההלך לפני מחנה ישׂראל וילך מאחריהם ויסע עמוד הענן מפניהם ויעמד מאחריהם׃
Shemot 14:20 ויבא בין מחנה מצרים ובין מחנה ישׂראל ויהי הענן והחשׁך ויאר את־הלילה ולא־קרב זה אל־זה כל־הלילה׃
Shemot 14:21 ויט משׁה את־ידו על־הים ויולך יהוה את־הים ברוח קדים עזה כל־הלילה וישׂם את־הים לחרבה ויבקעו המים׃
Shemot 14:22 ויבאו בני־ישׂראל בתוך הים ביבשׁה והמים להם חומה מימינם ומשׂמאלם׃
Shemot 14:23 וירדפו מצרים ויבאו אחריהם כל סוס פרעה רכבו ופרשׁיו אל־תוך הים׃
Shemot 14:24 ויהי באשׁמרת הבקר וישׁקף יהוה אל־מחנה מצרים בעמוד אשׁ וענן ויהם את מחנה מצרים׃
Shemot 14:25 ויסר את אפן מרכבתיו וינהגהו בכבדת ויאמר מצרים אנוסה מפני ישׂראל כי יהוה נלחם להם במצרים׃
Shemot 14:26 ויאמר יהוה אל־משׁה נטה את־ידך על־הים וישׁבו המים על־מצרים על־רכבו ועל־פרשׁיו׃
Shemot 14:27 ויט משׁה את־ידו על־הים וישׁב הים לפנות בקר לאיתנו ומצרים נסים לקראתו וינער יהוה את־מצרים בתוך הים׃
Shemot 14:28 וישׁבו המים ויכסו את־הרכב ואת־הפרשׁים לכל חיל פרעה הבאים אחריהם בים לא־נשׁאר בהם עד־אחד׃
Shemot 14:29 ובני ישׂראל הלכו ביבשׁה בתוך הים והמים להם חמה מימינם ומשׂמאלם׃
Shemot 14:30 ויושׁע יהוה ביום ההוא את־ישׂראל מיד מצרים וירא ישׂראל את־מצרים מת על־שׂפת הים׃
Shemot 14:31 וירא ישׂראל את־היד הגדלה אשׁר עשׂה יהוה במצרים וייראו העם את־יהוה ויאמינו ביהוה ובמשׁה עבדו׃
Shemot 15:1 אז ישׁיר־משׁה ובני ישׂראל את־השׁירה הזאת ליהוה ויאמרו לאמר אשׁירה ליהוה כי־גאה גאה סוס ורכבו רמה בים׃
Shemot 15:2 עזי וזמרת יה ויהי־לי לישׁועה זה אלי ואנוהו אלהי אבי וארממנהו׃
Shemot 15:3 יהוה אישׁ מלחמה יהוה שׁמו׃
Shemot 15:4 מרכבת פרעה וחילו ירה בים ומבחר שׁלשׁיו טבעו בים־סוף׃
Shemot 15:5 תהמת יכסימו ירדו במצולת כמו־אבן׃
Shemot 15:6 ימינך יהוה נאדרי בכח ימינך יהוה תרעץ אויב׃
Shemot 15:7 וברב גאונך תהרס קמיך תשׁלח חרנך יאכלמו כקשׁ׃
Shemot 15:8 וברוח אפיך נערמו מים נצבו כמו־נד נזלים קפאו תהמת בלב־ים׃
Shemot 15:9 אמר אויב ארדף אשׂיג אחלק שׁלל תמלאמו נפשׁי אריק חרבי תורישׁמו ידי׃
Shemot 15:10 נשׁפת ברוחך כסמו ים צללו כעופרת במים אדירים׃
Shemot 15:11 מי־כמכה באלם יהוה מי כמכה נאדר בקדשׁ נורא תהלת עשׂה פלא׃
Shemot 15:12 נטית ימינך תבלעמו ארץ׃
Shemot 15:13 נחית בחסדך עם־זו גאלת נהלת בעזך אל־נוה קדשׁך׃
Shemot 15:14 שׁמעו עמים ירגזון חיל אחז ישׁבי פלשׁת׃
Shemot 15:15 אז נבהלו אלופי אדום אילי מואב יאחזמו רעד נמגו כל ישׁבי כנען׃
Shemot 15:16 תפל עליהם אימתה ופחד בגדל זרועך ידמו כאבן עד־יעבר עמך יהוה עד־יעבר עם־זו קנית׃
Shemot 15:17 תבאמו ותטעמו בהר נחלתך מכון לשׁבתך פעלת יהוה מקדשׁ אדני כוננו ידיך׃
Shemot 15:18 יהוה ימלך לעלם ועד׃
Shemot 15:19 כי בא סוס פרעה ברכבו ובפרשׁיו בים וישׁב יהוה עלהם את־מי הים ובני ישׂראל הלכו ביבשׁה בתוך הים׃
Shemot 15:20 ותקח מרים הנביאה אחות אהרן את־התף בידה ותצאן כל־הנשׁים אחריה בתפים ובמחלת׃
Shemot 15:21 ותען להם מרים שׁירו ליהוה כי־גאה גאה סוס ורכבו רמה בים׃
Shemot 15:22 ויסע משׁה את־ישׂראל מים־סוף ויצאו אל־מדבר־שׁור וילכו שׁלשׁת־ימים במדבר ולא־מצאו מים׃
Shemot 15:23 ויבאו מרתה ולא יכלו לשׁתת מים ממרה כי מרים הם על־כן קרא־שׁמה מרה׃
Shemot 15:24 וילנו העם על־משׁה לאמר מה־נשׁתה׃
Shemot 15:25 ויצעק אל־יהוה ויורהו יהוה עץ וישׁלך אל־המים וימתקו המים שׁם שׂם לו חק ומשׁפט ושׁם נסהו׃
Shemot 15:26 ויאמר אם־שׁמוע תשׁמע לקול יהוה אלהיך והישׁר בעיניו תעשׂה והאזנת למצותיו ושׁמרת כל־חקיו כל־המחלה אשׁר־שׂמתי במצרים לא־אשׂים עליך כי אני יהוה רפאך׃
Shemot 15:27 ויבאו אילמה ושׁם שׁתים עשׂרה עינת מים ושׁבעים תמרים ויחנו־שׁם על־המים׃
Shemot 16:1 ויסעו מאילם ויבאו כל־עדת בני־ישׂראל אל־מדבר־סין אשׁר בין־אילם ובין סיני בחמשׁה עשׂר יום לחדשׁ השׁני לצאתם מארץ מצרים׃
Shemot 16:2 וילינו כל־עדת בני־ישׂראל על־משׁה ועל־אהרן במדבר׃
Shemot 16:3 ויאמרו אלהם בני ישׂראל מי־יתן מותנו ביד־יהוה בארץ מצרים בשׁבתנו על־סיר הבשׂר באכלנו לחם לשׂבע כי־הוצאתם אתנו אל־המדבר הזה להמית את־כל־הקהל הזה ברעב׃
Shemot 16:4 ויאמר יהוה אל־משׁה הנני ממטיר לכם לחם מן־השׁמים ויצא העם ולקטו דבר־יום ביומו למען אנסנו הילך בתורתי אם־לא׃
Shemot 16:5 והיה ביום השׁשׁי והכינו את אשׁר־יביאו והיה משׁנה על אשׁר־ילקטו יום יום׃
Shemot 16:6 ויאמר משׁה ואהרן אל־כל־בני ישׂראל ערב וידעתם כי יהוה הוציא אתכם מארץ מצרים׃
Shemot 16:7 ובקר וראיתם את־כבוד יהוה בשׁמעו את־תלנתיכם על־יהוה ונחנו מה כי תלונו עלינו׃
Shemot 16:8 ויאמר משׁה בתת יהוה לכם בערב בשׂר לאכל ולחם בבקר לשׂבע בשׁמע יהוה את־תלנתיכם אשׁר־אתם מלינם עליו ונחנו מה לא־עלינו תלנתיכם כי על־יהוה׃
Shemot 16:9 ויאמר משׁה אל־אהרן אמר אל־כל־עדת בני ישׂראל קרבו לפני יהוה כי שׁמע את תלנתיכם׃
Shemot 16:10 ויהי כדבר אהרן אל־כל־עדת בני־ישׂראל ויפנו אל־המדבר והנה כבוד יהוה נראה בענן׃
Shemot 16:11 וידבר יהוה אל־משׁה לאמר׃
Shemot 16:12 שׁמעתי את־תלונת בני ישׂראל דבר אלהם לאמר בין הערבים תאכלו בשׂר ובבקר תשׂבעו־לחם וידעתם כי אני יהוה אלהיכם׃
Shemot 16:13 ויהי בערב ותעל השׂלו ותכס את־המחנה ובבקר היתה שׁכבת הטל סביב למחנה׃
Shemot 16:14 ותעל שׁכבת הטל והנה על־פני המדבר דק מחספס דק ככפר על־הארץ׃
Shemot 16:15 ויראו בני־ישׂראל ויאמרו אישׁ אל־אחיו מן הוא כי לא ידעו מה־הוא ויאמר משׁה אלהם הוא הלחם אשׁר נתן יהוה לכם לאכלה׃
Shemot 16:16 זה הדבר אשׁר צוה יהוה לקטו ממנו אישׁ לפי אכלו עמר לגלגלת מספר נפשׁתיכם אישׁ לאשׁר באהלו תקחו׃
Shemot 16:17 ויעשׂו־כן בני ישׂראל וילקטו המרבה והממעיט׃
Shemot 16:18 וימדו בעמר ולא העדיף המרבה והממעיט לא החסיר אישׁ לפי־אכלו לקטו׃
Shemot 16:19 ויאמר משׁה אלהם אישׁ אל־יותר ממנו עד־בקר׃
Shemot 16:20 ולא־שׁמעו אל־משׁה ויותרו אנשׁים ממנו עד־בקר וירם תולעים ויבאשׁ ויקצף עלהם משׁה׃
Shemot 16:21 וילקטו אתו בבקר בבקר אישׁ כפי אכלו וחם השׁמשׁ ונמס׃
Shemot 16:22 ויהי ביום השׁשׁי לקטו לחם משׁנה שׁני העמר לאחד ויבאו כל־נשׂיאי העדה ויגידו למשׁה׃
Shemot 16:23 ויאמר אלהם הוא אשׁר דבר יהוה שׁבתון שׁבת־קדשׁ ליהוה מחר את אשׁר־תאפו אפו ואת אשׁר־תבשׁלו בשׁלו ואת כל־העדף הניחו לכם למשׁמרת עד־הבקר׃
Shemot 16:24 ויניחו אתו עד־הבקר כאשׁר צוה משׁה ולא הבאישׁ ורמה לא־היתה בו׃
Shemot 16:25 ויאמר משׁה אכלהו היום כי־שׁבת היום ליהוה היום לא תמצאהו בשׂדה׃
Shemot 16:26 שׁשׁת ימים תלקטהו וביום השׁביעי שׁבת לא יהיה־בו׃
Shemot 16:27 ויהי ביום השׁביעי יצאו מן־העם ללקט ולא מצאו׃
Shemot 16:28 ויאמר יהוה אל־משׁה עד־אנה מאנתם לשׁמר מצותי ותורתי׃
Shemot 16:29 ראו כי־יהוה נתן לכם השׁבת על־כן הוא נתן לכם ביום השׁשׁי לחם יומים שׁבו אישׁ תחתיו אל־יצא אישׁ ממקמו ביום השׁביעי׃
Shemot 16:30 וישׁבתו העם ביום השׁבעי׃
Shemot 16:31 ויקראו בית־ישׂראל את־שׁמו מן והוא כזרע גד לבן וטעמו כצפיחת בדבשׁ׃
Shemot 16:32 ויאמר משׁה זה הדבר אשׁר צוה יהוה מלא העמר ממנו למשׁמרת לדרתיכם למען יראו את־הלחם אשׁר האכלתי אתכם במדבר בהוציאי אתכם מארץ מצרים׃
Shemot 16:33 ויאמר משׁה אל־אהרן קח צנצנת אחת ותן־שׁמה מלא־העמר מן והנח אתו לפני יהוה למשׁמרת לדרתיכם׃
Shemot 16:34 כאשׁר צוה יהוה אל־משׁה ויניחהו אהרן לפני העדת למשׁמרת׃
Shemot 16:35 ובני ישׂראל אכלו את־המן ארבעים שׁנה עד־באם אל־ארץ נושׁבת את־המן אכלו עד־באם אל־קצה ארץ כנען׃
Shemot 16:36 והעמר עשׂרית האיפה הוא׃
Shemot 17:1 ויסעו כל־עדת בני־ישׂראל ממדבר־סין למסעיהם על־פי יהוה ויחנו ברפידים ואין מים לשׁתת העם׃
Shemot 17:2 וירב העם עם־משׁה ויאמרו תנו־לנו מים ונשׁתה ויאמר להם משׁה מה־תריבון עמדי מה־תנסון את־יהוה׃
Shemot 17:3 ויצמא שׁם העם למים וילן העם על־משׁה ויאמר למה זה העליתנו ממצרים להמית אתי ואת־בני ואת־מקני בצמא׃
Shemot 17:4 ויצעק משׁה אל־יהוה לאמר מה אעשׂה לעם הזה עוד מעט וסקלני׃
Shemot 17:5 ויאמר יהוה אל־משׁה עבר לפני העם וקח אתך מזקני ישׂראל ומטך אשׁר הכית בו את־היאר קח בידך והלכת׃
Shemot 17:6 הנני עמד לפניך שׁם על־הצור בחרב והכית בצור ויצאו ממנו מים ושׁתה העם ויעשׂ כן משׁה לעיני זקני ישׂראל׃
Shemot 17:7 ויקרא שׁם המקום מסה ומריבה על־ריב בני ישׂראל ועל נסתם את־יהוה לאמר הישׁ יהוה בקרבנו אם־אין׃
Shemot 17:8 ויבא עמלק וילחם עם־ישׂראל ברפידם׃
Shemot 17:9 ויאמר משׁה אל־יהושׁע בחר־לנו אנשׁים וצא הלחם בעמלק מחר אנכי נצב על־ראשׁ הגבעה ומטה האלהים בידי׃

Shemot 13:17 And it came to be, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that Elohim did not lead them by way of the land of the Philistines, though that was nearer, for Elohim said, “Lest the people regret when they see fighting, and return to Mitsrayim.”
Shemot 13:18 So Elohim led the people around by way of the wilderness of the Sea of Reeds. And the children of Yisra’ĕl went up armed from the land of Mitsrayim.
Shemot 13:19 And Moshe took the bones of Yosĕf with him, for he certainly made the children of Yisra’ĕl swear, saying, “Elohim shall certainly visit you, and you shall bring my bones from here with you.”
Shemot 13:20 And they departed from Sukkoth and camped in Ětham at the edge of the wilderness.
Shemot 13:21 And יהוה went before them by day in a column of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a column of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night.
Shemot 13:22 The column of cloud did not cease by day, nor the column of fire by night, before the people.
Shemot 14:1 And יהוה spoke to Moshe, saying,
Shemot 14:2 “Speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl, that they turn and camp before Pi Haḥiroth, between Miḡdol and the sea, opposite Baʽal Tsephon – camp before it by the sea.
Shemot 14:3 “For Pharaoh shall say of the children of Yisra’ĕl, ‘They are entangled in the land, the wilderness has closed them in.’
Shemot 14:4 “And I shall harden the heart of Pharaoh, and he shall pursue them. But I am to be esteemed through Pharaoh and over all his army, and the Mitsrites shall know that I am יהוה.” And they did so.
Shemot 14:5 And it was reported to the sovereign of Mitsrayim that the people had fled, and the heart of Pharaoh and his servants was turned against the people. And they said, “Why have we done this, that we have let Yisra’ĕl go from serving us?”
Shemot 14:6 So he made his chariot ready and took his people with him.
Shemot 14:7 And he took six hundred choice chariots, and all the chariots of Mitsrayim with officers over all of them.
Shemot 14:8 And יהוה hardened the heart of Pharaoh sovereign of Mitsrayim, and he pursued the children of Yisra’ĕl, but the children of Yisra’ĕl went out defiantly.
Shemot 14:9 And the Mitsrites pursued them, and all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen and his army, and overtook them camping by the sea beside Pi Haḥiroth, before Baʽal Tsephon.
Shemot 14:10 And when Pharaoh drew near, the children of Yisra’ĕl lifted their eyes and saw the Mitsrites coming up after them. And they were greatly afraid, so the children of Yisra’ĕl cried out to יהוה.
Shemot 14:11 And they said to Moshe, “Did you take us away to die in the wilderness because there are no graves in Mitsrayim? What is this you have done to us, to bring us up out of Mitsrayim?
Shemot 14:12 “Is this not the word that we spoke to you in Mitsrayim, saying, ‘Leave us alone and let us serve the Mitsrites?’ For it would have been better for us to serve the Mitsrites than to die in the wilderness.”
Shemot 14:13 And Moshe said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the deliverance of יהוה, which He does for you today. For the Mitsrites whom you see today, you are never, never to see again.
Shemot 14:14 “יהוה does fight for you, and you keep still.”
Shemot 14:15 And יהוה said to Moshe, “Why do you cry to Me? Speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl, and let them go forward.
Shemot 14:16 “And you, lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, and let the children of Yisra’ĕl go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.
Shemot 14:17 “And I, see I am hardening the hearts of the Mitsrites, and they shall follow them. And I am to be esteemed through Pharaoh and over all his army, his chariots, and his horsemen.
Shemot 14:18 “And the Mitsrites shall know that I am יהוה, when I am esteemed through Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen.”
Shemot 14:19 And the Messenger of Elohim, who went before the camp of Yisra’ĕl, moved and went behind them. And the column of cloud went from before them and stood behind them,
Shemot 14:20 and came between the camp of the Mitsrites and the camp of Yisra’ĕl. And it was the cloud and the darkness, and it gave light by night, and the one did not come near the other all the night.
Shemot 14:21 And Moshe stretched out his hand over the sea. And יהוה caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided.
Shemot 14:22 And the children of Yisra’ĕl went into the midst of the sea on dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right and on their left.
Shemot 14:23 And the Mitsrites pursued and went after them into the midst of the sea, all the horses of Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen.
Shemot 14:24 And it came to be, in the morning watch, that יהוה looked down upon the army of the Mitsrites through the column of fire and cloud, and He brought the army of the Mitsrites into confusion.
Shemot 14:25 And He took off their chariot wheels, so that they drove them with difficulty. And the Mitsrites said, “Let us flee from the face of Yisra’ĕl, for יהוה fights for them against the Mitsrites.”
Shemot 14:26 Then יהוה said to Moshe, “Stretch out your hand over the sea, and let the waters come back upon the Mitsrites, on their chariots, and on their horsemen.”
Shemot 14:27 And Moshe stretched out his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its usual flow, at the break of day, with the Mitsrites fleeing into it. Thus יהוה overthrew the Mitsrites in the midst of the sea,
Shemot 14:28 and the waters returned and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the army of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them, and not even one was left of them.
Shemot 14:29 And the children of Yisra’ĕl walked on dry ground in the midst of the sea, and the waters were a wall to them on their right and on their left.
Shemot 14:30 Thus יהוה saved Yisra’ĕl that day out of the hand of the Mitsrites, and Yisra’ĕl saw the Mitsrites dead on the seashore.
Shemot 14:31 And Yisra’ĕl saw the great work which יהוה had done in Mitsrayim, and the people feared יהוה, and believed יהוה and His servant Moshe.
Shemot 15:1 Then Moshe and the children of Yisra’ĕl sang this song to יהוה, and spoke, saying, “I sing to יהוה, for He is highly exalted! The horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea!
Shemot 15:2 “Yah is my strength and song, and He has become my deliverance. He is my Ěl, and I praise Him – Elohim of my father, and I exalt Him.
Shemot 15:3 “יהוה is a man of battle, יהוה is His Name.
Shemot 15:4 “He has cast Pharaoh’s chariots and his army into the sea, and his chosen officers are drowned in the Sea of Reeds.
Shemot 15:5 “The depths covered them, they went down to the bottom like a stone.
Shemot 15:6 “Your right hand, O יהוה, has become great in power. Your right hand, O יהוה, has crushed the enemy.
Shemot 15:7 “And in the greatness of Your excellence You pulled down those who rose up against You. You sent forth Your wrath, it consumed them like stubble.
Shemot 15:8 “And with the wind of Your nostrils the waters were heaped up, the floods stood like a wall, the depths became stiff in the heart of the sea.
Shemot 15:9 “The enemy said, ‘I pursue, I overtake, I divide the spoil, my being is satisfied on them. I draw out my sword, my hand destroys them.’
Shemot 15:10 “You did blow with Your wind, the sea covered them, they sank like lead in the mighty waters.
Shemot 15:11 “Who is like You, O יהוה, among the mighty ones? Who is like You, great in kadosh-ness, awesome in praises, working wonders?
Shemot 15:12 “You stretched out Your right hand, the earth swallowed them.
Shemot 15:13 “In Your kindness You led the people whom You have redeemed, in Your strength You guided them to Your set-apart dwelling.
Shemot 15:14 “Peoples heard, they trembled, anguish gripped the inhabitants of Philistia.
Shemot 15:15 “Then the chiefs of Eḏom were troubled, the mighty men of Mo’aḇ, trembling grips them, all the inhabitants of Kenaʽan melted.
Shemot 15:16 “Fear and dread fell on them, by the greatness of Your arm they are as silent as a stone, until Your people pass over, O יהוה, until the people, whom You have bought, pass over.
Shemot 15:17 “You bring them in and plant them in the mountain of Your inheritance, in the place, O יהוה, which You have made for Your own dwelling, the kadosh place, O יהוה, which Your hands have prepared.
Shemot 15:18 “יהוה reigns forever and ever.”
Shemot 15:19 For the horses of Pharaoh went with his chariots and his horsemen into the sea, and יהוה brought back the waters of the sea upon them. And the children of Yisra’ĕl went on dry ground in the midst of the sea.
Shemot 15:20 And Miryam the prophetess, the sister of Aharon, took the timbrel in her hand. And all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.
Shemot 15:21 And Miryam answered them, “Sing to יהוה, for He is highly exalted! The horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea!”
Shemot 15:22 And Moshe brought Yisra’ĕl from the Sea of Reeds, and they went out into the Wilderness of Shur. And they went three days in the wilderness and found no water.
Shemot 15:23 And they came to Marah, and they were unable to drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter. So the name of it was called Marah.
Shemot 15:24 And the people grumbled against Moshe, saying, “What are we to drink?”
Shemot 15:25 Then he cried out to יהוה, and יהוה showed him a tree. And when he threw it into the waters, the waters were made sweet. There He made a mitzvah and a right-ruling for them, and there He tried them.
Shemot 15:26 And He said, “If you diligently obey the voice of יהוה your Elohim and do what is right in His eyes, and shall listen to His commands and shall guard all His mitzvot, I shall bring on you none of the diseases I brought on the Mitsrites, for I am יהוה who heals you.”
Shemot 15:27 And they came to Ělim, where there were twelve fountains of water and seventy palm trees. And they camped there by the waters.
Shemot 16:1 And they set out from Ělim, and all the congregation of the children of Yisra’ĕl came to the Wilderness of Sin, which is between Ělim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their going out of the land of Mitsrayim.
Shemot 16:2 And all the congregation of the children of Yisra’ĕl grumbled against Moshe and Aharon in the wilderness.
Shemot 16:3 And the children of Yisra’ĕl said to them, “If only we had died by the hand of יהוה in the land of Mitsrayim, when we sat by the pots of meat and when we ate bread to satisfaction! For you have brought us out into this wilderness to put all this assembly to death with hunger.”
Shemot 16:4 And יהוה said to Moshe, “See, I am raining bread from the heavens for you. And the people shall go out and gather a day’s portion every day, in order to try them, whether they walk in My Torah or not.
Shemot 16:5 “And it shall be on the sixth day that they shall prepare what they bring in, and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.”
Shemot 16:6 And Moshe and Aharon said to all the children of Yisra’ĕl, “At evening you shall know that יהוה has brought you out of the land of Mitsrayim.
Shemot 16:7 “And in the morning you shall see the esteem of יהוה, for He hears your grumblings against יהוה. And what are we, that you grumble against us?”
Shemot 16:8 And Moshe said, “In that יהוה gives you meat to eat in the evening, and in the morning bread to satisfaction, for יהוה hears your grumblings which you make against Him. And what are we? Your grumblings are not against us but against יהוה.”
Shemot 16:9 And Moshe said to Aharon, “Say to all the congregation of the children of Yisra’ĕl, ‘Come near before יהוה, for He has heard your grumblings.’ ”
Shemot 16:10 And it came to be, as Aharon spoke to all the congregation of the children of Yisra’ĕl, that they looked toward the wilderness and see, the esteem of יהוה appeared in the cloud.
Shemot 16:11 And יהוה spoke to Moshe, saying,
Shemot 16:12 “I have heard the grumblings of the children of Yisra’ĕl. Speak to them, saying, ‘Between the evenings you are to eat meat, and in the morning you are to be satisfied with bread. And you shall know that I am יהוה your Elohim.’ ”
Shemot 16:13 And it came to be that quails came up at evening and covered the camp, and in the morning the dew lay all around the camp.
Shemot 16:14 And the layer of dew went up, and see, on the surface of the wilderness, was a small round substance, as fine as frost on the ground.
Shemot 16:15 And the children of Yisra’ĕl saw, and they said to each other, “What is it?” For they did not know what it was. And Moshe said to them, “It is the bread which יהוה has given you to eat.
Shemot 16:16 “This is the word which יהוה has commanded: ‘Let every man gather it according to each one’s need, an omer for each being, according to the number of beings. Let every man take for those who are in his tent.’ ”
Shemot 16:17 And the children of Yisra’ĕl did so and gathered, some more, some less.
Shemot 16:18 And they measured it by omers, and he who gathered much did not have too much, and he who gathered little did not have too little. Each one gathered according to his need.
Shemot 16:19 And Moshe said, “Let no one leave any of it until morning.”
Shemot 16:20 And they did not listen to Moshe, so some of them left part of it until morning, and it bred worms and stank. And Moshe was wroth with them.
Shemot 16:21 And they gathered it every morning, each one according to his need. And when the sun became hot, it melted.
Shemot 16:22 And it came to be, on the sixth day, that they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for each one. And all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moshe.
Shemot 16:23 And he said to them, “This is what יהוה has said, ‘Tomorrow is a rest, a Sabbath kadosh to יהוה. That which you bake, bake; and that which you cook, cook. And lay up for yourselves all that is left over, to keep it until morning.’ ”
Shemot 16:24 And they laid it up till morning, as Moshe commanded. And it did not stink, and no worm was in it.
Shemot 16:25 And Moshe said, “Eat it today, for today is a Sabbath to יהוה, today you do not find it in the field.
Shemot 16:26 “Gather it six days, but on the seventh day, which is the Sabbath, there is none.”
Shemot 16:27 And it came to be that some of the people went out on the seventh day to gather, but they found none.
Shemot 16:28 And יהוה said to Moshe, “How long shall you refuse to guard My mitzvot and My Torot1? Footnote: 1Torot - plural of Torah, teaching.
Shemot 16:29 “See, because יהוה has given you the Sabbath, therefore He is giving you bread for two days on the sixth day. Let each one stay in his place, do not let anyone go out of his place on the seventh day.”
Shemot 16:30 So the people rested on the seventh day1. Footnote: The seventh day of the week, the weekly Sabbath, was observed before the Ten Words were given on Mt. Sinai.
Shemot 16:31 And the house of Yisra’ĕl called its name Mahnna. And it was like white coriander seed, and the taste of it was like thin cakes made with honey.
Shemot 16:32 And Moshe said, “This is the word which יהוה has commanded: ‘Fill an omer with it, to keep for your generations, so that they see the bread with which I fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you out of the land of Mitsrayim.’ ”
Shemot 16:33 And Moshe said to Aharon, “Take a pot and put an omer of mahnna in it, and set it down before יהוה, to keep for your generations.”
Shemot 16:34 As יהוה commanded Moshe, so did Aharon set it down before the Witness, to keep.
Shemot 16:35 And the children of Yisra’ĕl ate mahnna forty years, until they came to an inhabited land. They ate mahnna until they came to the border of the land of Kenaʽan.
Shemot 16:36 And an omer is one-tenth of an ĕphah.
Shemot 17:1 And all the congregation of the children of Yisra’ĕl set out on their journey from the Wilderness of Sin, according to the command of יהוה, and camped in Rephiḏim. And there was no water for the people to drink.
Shemot 17:2 Therefore the people strove with Moshe, and said, “Give us water to drink.” And Moshe said to them, “Why do you strive with me? Why do you try יהוה?”
Shemot 17:3 And the people thirsted there for water, and the people grumbled against Moshe, and said, “Why did you bring us out of Mitsrayim, to kill us and our children and our livestock with thirst?”
Shemot 17:4 Then Moshe cried out to יהוה, saying, “What am I to do with this people? Yet a little and they shall stone me!”
Shemot 17:5 And יהוה said to Moshe, “Pass over before the people, and take with you some of the elders of Yisra’ĕl. And take in your hand your rod with which you smote the river, and go.
Shemot 17:6 “See, I am standing before you there on the rock in Ḥorĕḇ. And you shall smite the rock, and water shall come out of it, and the people shall drink.” And Moshe did so before the eyes of the elders of Yisra’ĕl.
Shemot 17:7 And he called the name of the place Massah and Meriḇah, because of the ‘strife’ of the children of Yisra’ĕl, and because they ‘tried’ יהוה, saying, “Is יהוה in our midst or not?”
Shemot 17:8 And Amalĕq came and fought with Yisra’ĕl in Rephiḏim.
Shemot 17:9 And Moshe said to Yehoshua, “Choose for us men and go out, fight with Amalĕq. Tomorrow I am stationing myself on the top of the hill with the rod of Elohim in my hand.”
Shemot 17:10 And Yehoshua did as Moshe said to him, to fight with Amalĕq. And Moshe, Aharon, and Ḥur went up to the top of the hill.
Shemot 17:11 And it came to be, when Moshe held up his hand, that Yisra’ĕl prevailed. And when he let down his hand, Amalĕq prevailed.
Shemot 17:12 But Moshe’s hands were heavy, so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aharon and Ḥur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side. And his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.
Shemot 17:13 And Yehoshua defeated Amalĕq and his people with the edge of the sword.
Shemot 17:14 And יהוה said to Moshe, “Write this for a remembrance in the book and recite it in the hearing of Yehoshua, that I shall completely blot out the remembrance of Amalĕq from under the heavens.”
Shemot 17:15 And Moshe built an altar and called its name, יהוה Nissi,
Shemot 17:16 for he said, “Because a hand is on the throne of Yah, יהוה is to fight against Amalĕq, from generation to generation.”
Shemot 13:17 And it came to be, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that Elohim did not lead them by way of the land of the Philistines, though that was nearer, for Elohim said, “Lest the people regret when they see fighting, and return to Mitsrayim.”
Shemot 13:18 So Elohim led the people around by way of the wilderness of the Sea of Reeds. And the children of Yisra’ĕl went up armed from the land of Mitsrayim.
Shemot 13:19 And Moshe took the bones of Yosĕf with him, for he certainly made the children of Yisra’ĕl swear, saying, “Elohim shall certainly visit you, and you shall bring my bones from here with you.”
Shemot 13:20 And they departed from Sukkoth and camped in Ětham at the edge of the wilderness.
Shemot 13:21 And יהוה went before them by day in a column of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a column of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night.
Shemot 13:22 The column of cloud did not cease by day, nor the column of fire by night, before the people.
Shemot 14:1 And יהוה spoke to Moshe, saying,
Shemot 14:2 “Speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl, that they turn and camp before Pi Haḥiroth, between Miḡdol and the sea, opposite Baʽal Tsephon – camp before it by the sea.
Shemot 14:3 “For Pharaoh shall say of the children of Yisra’ĕl, ‘They are entangled in the land, the wilderness has closed them in.’
Shemot 14:4 “And I shall harden the heart of Pharaoh, and he shall pursue them. But I am to be esteemed through Pharaoh and over all his army, and the Mitsrites shall know that I am יהוה.” And they did so.
Shemot 14:5 And it was reported to the sovereign of Mitsrayim that the people had fled, and the heart of Pharaoh and his servants was turned against the people. And they said, “Why have we done this, that we have let Yisra’ĕl go from serving us?”
Shemot 14:6 So he made his chariot ready and took his people with him.
Shemot 14:7 And he took six hundred choice chariots, and all the chariots of Mitsrayim with officers over all of them.
Shemot 14:8 And יהוה hardened the heart of Pharaoh sovereign of Mitsrayim, and he pursued the children of Yisra’ĕl, but the children of Yisra’ĕl went out defiantly.
Shemot 14:9 And the Mitsrites pursued them, and all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen and his army, and overtook them camping by the sea beside Pi Haḥiroth, before Baʽal Tsephon.
Shemot 14:10 And when Pharaoh drew near, the children of Yisra’ĕl lifted their eyes and saw the Mitsrites coming up after them. And they were greatly afraid, so the children of Yisra’ĕl cried out to יהוה.
Shemot 14:11 And they said to Moshe, “Did you take us away to die in the wilderness because there are no graves in Mitsrayim? What is this you have done to us, to bring us up out of Mitsrayim?
Shemot 14:12 “Is this not the word that we spoke to you in Mitsrayim, saying, ‘Leave us alone and let us serve the Mitsrites?’ For it would have been better for us to serve the Mitsrites than to die in the wilderness.”
Shemot 14:13 And Moshe said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the deliverance of יהוה, which He does for you today. For the Mitsrites whom you see today, you are never, never to see again.
Shemot 14:14 “יהוה does fight for you, and you keep still.”
Shemot 14:15 And יהוה said to Moshe, “Why do you cry to Me? Speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl, and let them go forward.
Shemot 14:16 “And you, lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, and let the children of Yisra’ĕl go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.
Shemot 14:17 “And I, see I am hardening the hearts of the Mitsrites, and they shall follow them. And I am to be esteemed through Pharaoh and over all his army, his chariots, and his horsemen.
Shemot 14:18 “And the Mitsrites shall know that I am יהוה, when I am esteemed through Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen.”
Shemot 14:19 And the Messenger of Elohim, who went before the camp of Yisra’ĕl, moved and went behind them. And the column of cloud went from before them and stood behind them,
Shemot 14:20 and came between the camp of the Mitsrites and the camp of Yisra’ĕl. And it was the cloud and the darkness, and it gave light by night, and the one did not come near the other all the night.

Shemot 16:9 And Moshe said to Aharon, “Say to all the congregation of the children of Yisra’ĕl, ‘Come near before יהוה, for He has heard your grumblings.’ ”
Shemot 16:10 And it came to be, as Aharon spoke to all the congregation of the children of Yisra’ĕl, that they looked toward the wilderness and see, the esteem of יהוה appeared in the cloud.
Shemot 16:11 And יהוה spoke to Moshe, saying,
Shemot 16:12 “I have heard the grumblings of the children of Yisra’ĕl. Speak to them, saying, ‘Between the evenings you are to eat meat, and in the morning you are to be satisfied with bread. And you shall know that I am יהוה your Elohim.’ ”
Shemot 16:13 And it came to be that quails came up at evening and covered the camp, and in the morning the dew lay all around the camp.
Shemot 16:14 And the layer of dew went up, and see, on the surface of the wilderness, was a small round substance, as fine as frost on the ground.
Shemot 16:15 And the children of Yisra’ĕl saw, and they said to each other, “What is it?” For they did not know what it was. And Moshe said to them, “It is the bread which יהוה has given you to eat.
Shemot 16:16 “This is the word which יהוה has commanded: ‘Let every man gather it according to each one’s need, an omer for each being, according to the number of beings. Let every man take for those who are in his tent.’ ”
Shemot 16:17 And the children of Yisra’ĕl did so and gathered, some more, some less.
Shemot 16:18 And they measured it by omers, and he who gathered much did not have too much, and he who gathered little did not have too little. Each one gathered according to his need.
Shemot 16:19 And Moshe said, “Let no one leave any of it until morning.”
Shemot 16:20 And they did not listen to Moshe, so some of them left part of it until morning, and it bred worms and stank. And Moshe was wroth with them.
Shemot 16:21 And they gathered it every morning, each one according to his need. And when the sun became hot, it melted.
Shemot 16:22 And it came to be, on the sixth day, that they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for each one. And all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moshe.
Shemot 16:23 And he said to them, “This is what יהוה has said, ‘Tomorrow is a rest, a Sabbath kadosh to יהוה. That which you bake, bake; and that which you cook, cook. And lay up for yourselves all that is left over, to keep it until morning.’ ”
Shemot 16:24 And they laid it up till morning, as Moshe commanded. And it did not stink, and no worm was in it.
Shemot 16:25 And Moshe said, “Eat it today, for today is a Sabbath to יהוה, today you do not find it in the field.
Shemot 16:26 “Gather it six days, but on the seventh day, which is the Sabbath, there is none.”
Shemot 16:27 And it came to be that some of the people went out on the seventh day to gather, but they found none.
Shemot 16:28 And יהוה said to Moshe, “How long shall you refuse to guard My mitzvot and My Torot1? Footnote: 1Torot - plural of Torah, teaching.
Shemot 16:29 “See, because יהוה has given you the Sabbath, therefore He is giving you bread for two days on the sixth day. Let each one stay in his place, do not let anyone go out of his place on the seventh day.”
Shemot 16:30 So the people rested on the seventh day1. Footnote: The seventh day of the week, the weekly Sabbath, was observed before the Ten Words were given on Mt. Sinai.
Shemot 16:31 And the house of Yisra’ĕl called its name Mahnna. And it was like white coriander seed, and the taste of it was like thin cakes made with honey.
Shemot 16:32 And Moshe said, “This is the word which יהוה has commanded: ‘Fill an omer with it, to keep for your generations, so that they see the bread with which I fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you out of the land of Mitsrayim.’ ”
Shemot 16:33 And Moshe said to Aharon, “Take a pot and put an omer of mahnna in it, and set it down before יהוה, to keep for your generations.”
Shemot 16:34 As יהוה commanded Moshe, so did Aharon set it down before the Witness, to keep.
Shemot 16:35 And the children of Yisra’ĕl ate mahnna forty years, until they came to an inhabited land. They ate mahnna until they came to the border of the land of Kenaʽan.
Shemot 16:36 And an omer is one-tenth of an ĕphah.
Shemot 17:1 And all the congregation of the children of Yisra’ĕl set out on their journey from the Wilderness of Sin, according to the command of יהוה, and camped in Rephiḏim. And there was no water for the people to drink.
Shemot 17:2 Therefore the people strove with Moshe, and said, “Give us water to drink.” And Moshe said to them, “Why do you strive with me? Why do you try יהוה?”
Shemot 17:3 And the people thirsted there for water, and the people grumbled against Moshe, and said, “Why did you bring us out of Mitsrayim, to kill us and our children and our livestock with thirst?”
Shemot 17:4 Then Moshe cried out to יהוה, saying, “What am I to do with this people? Yet a little and they shall stone me!”
Shemot 17:5 And יהוה said to Moshe, “Pass over before the people, and take with you some of the elders of Yisra’ĕl. And take in your hand your rod with which you smote the river, and go.
Shemot 17:6 “See, I am standing before you there on the rock in Ḥorĕḇ. And you shall smite the rock, and water shall come out of it, and the people shall drink.” And Moshe did so before the eyes of the elders of Yisra’ĕl.
Shemot 17:7 And he called the name of the place Massah and Meriḇah, because of the ‘strife’ of the children of Yisra’ĕl, and because they ‘tried’ יהוה, saying, “Is יהוה in our midst or not?”
Shemot 17:8 And Amalĕq came and fought with Yisra’ĕl in Rephiḏim.
Shemot 17:9 And Moshe said to Yehoshua, “Choose for us men and go out, fight with Amalĕq. Tomorrow I am stationing myself on the top of the hill with the rod of Elohim in my hand.”
Shemot 17:10 And Yehoshua did as Moshe said to him, to fight with Amalĕq. And Moshe, Aharon, and Ḥur went up to the top of the hill.
Shemot 17:11 And it came to be, when Moshe held up his hand, that Yisra’ĕl prevailed. And when he let down his hand, Amalĕq prevailed.
Shemot 17:12 But Moshe’s hands were heavy, so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aharon and Ḥur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side. And his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.
Shemot 17:13 And Yehoshua defeated Amalĕq and his people with the edge of the sword.
Shemot 17:14 And יהוה said to Moshe, “Write this for a remembrance in the book and recite it in the hearing of Yehoshua, that I shall completely blot out the remembrance of Amalĕq from under the heavens.”
Shemot 17:15 And Moshe built an altar and called its name, יהוה Nissi,
Shemot 17:16 for he said, “Because a hand is on the throne of Yah, יהוה is to fight against Amalĕq, from generation to generation.”
