Mattithyahu 8-10
Mat 8:1 וירד מן־ההר וילך אחריו המון עם רב׃
Mat 8:2 והנה איש מצרע בא וישתחו־לו ויאמר אדני אם־תרצה תוכל לטהרני׃
Mat 8:3 וישלח ישוע את־ידו ויגע־בו ויאמר חפץ אנכי טהר וברגע נרפאה צרעתו׃
Mat 8:4 ויאמר אליו ישוע ראה אל־תספר לאיש ולך הראה אל־הכהן והקרבת את־הקרבן אשר צוה משה לעדות להם׃
Mat 8:5 ויהי כבאו אל־כפר־נחום ויגש אליו שר־מאה אחד ויתחנן־לו לאמר׃
Mat 8:6 אדני הנה נערי נפל למשכב בביתי והוא נכה אברים ומענה עד־מאד׃
Mat 8:7 ויאמר ישוע אליו אבא ורפאתיו׃
Mat 8:8 ויען שר־המאה ויאמר אדני נקלתי מאשר תבא בצל קורתי רק דבר־נא דבר ונרפא נערי׃
Mat 8:9 כי אנכי איש אשר תחת ממשלה וגם־יש תחת ידי אנשי צבא ואמרתי לזה לך והלך ולזה בוא ובא ולעבדי עשה־זאת ועשה׃
Mat 8:10 וישמע ישוע ויתמה ויאמר אל־ההלכים אחריו אמן אמר אני לכם גם־בישראל לא־מצאתי אמונה רבה כזאת׃
Mat 8:11 ואני אמר לכם רבים יבאו ממזרח וממערב ויסבו עם־אברהם ויצחק ויעקב במלכות השמים׃
Mat 8:12 אבל בני המלכות המה יגרשו אל־החשך החיצון שם תהיה היללה וחרוק השנים׃
Mat 8:13 ויאמר ישוע אל־שר־המאה לך וכאמונתך כן יהיה־לך וירפא נערו בשעה ההיא׃
Mat 8:14 ויבא ישוע ביתה פטרוס וירא את־חמותו נפלת למשכב וחולת קדחת׃
Mat 8:15 ויגע בידה ותרף ממנה הקדחת ותקם ותשרתם׃
Mat 8:16 ויהי לעת ערב ויביאו אליו רבים אחוזי שדים ויגרש את־הרוחות בדבר פיו וירפא את כל־החולים׃
Mat 8:17 למלאת את אשר דבר ישעיהו הנביא לאמר חלינו הוא נשא ומכאבינו סבלם׃
Mat 8:18 ויהי כראות ישוע המון עם רב סביבתיו ויצו לעבר משם אל־עבר הים׃
Mat 8:19 ויגש אליו אחד הסופרים ויאמר אליו רבי אלכה אחריך אל כל־אשר תלך׃
Mat 8:20 ויאמר אליו ישוע לשועלים יש־חורים ולעוף השמים קנים ובן־האדם אין לו מקום להניח את־ראשו׃
Mat 8:21 ואיש אחר מן־התלמידים אמר אליו אדני הניחה־לי ואלך בראשונה לקבר את־אבי׃
Mat 8:22 ויאמר אליו ישוע לך אחרי והנח למתים לקבר את־מתיהם׃
Mat 8:23 וירד אל־האניה וירדו אתו תלמידיו׃
Mat 8:24 והנה סער גדול היה בים עד־אשר כסו הגלים את־האניה והוא ישן׃
Mat 8:25 ויגשו אליו תלמידיו ויעירו אותו לאמר הושיענו אדנינו אבדנו׃
Mat 8:26 ויאמר אליהם קטני אמונה מה חרדים אתם ויקם ויגער ברוחות ובים ותהי דממה רבה׃
Mat 8:27 ויתמהו האנשים ויאמרו מי אפוא הוא אשר גם־הרוחות והים אליו ישמעון׃
Mat 8:28 ויהי כבאו אל־עבר הים אל־ארץ הגדרים ויפגשוהו שני אנשים אחוזי שדים יצאים מבתי הקברות והמה רגזנים מאד עד אשר לא־יכל איש לעבר בדרך ההוא׃
Mat 8:29 והנה הם צעקים לאמר מה לנו ולך ישוע בן האלהים הבאת הלם לענותנו בלא עת׃
Mat 8:30 ושם עדר חזירים רבים רעים הרחק מהם׃
Mat 8:31 ויתחננו אליו השדים לאמר אם תגרשנו תנה לנו לבוא בעדר החזירים׃
Mat 8:32 ויאמר אליהם לכו ויצאו ויבאו בעדר החזירים והנה השתער כל־עדר החזירים מן־המורד אל־הים וימותו במים׃
Mat 8:33 וינוסו הרעים ויבאו העירה ויגידו את־הכל ואת אשר נעשה לאחוזי השדים׃
Mat 8:34 והנה כל־העיר יצאה לקראת ישוע וכראותם אתו ויבקשו ממנו לעבר מגבולם׃
Mat 9:1 וירד באניה ויעבר ויבא אל־עירו׃
Mat 9:2 והנה הם מביאים אליו איש נכה אברים והוא משכב על־המטה ויהי כראות ישוע את־אמונתם ויאמר אל־נכה האברים חזק בני נסלחו־לך חטאתיך׃
Mat 9:3 והנה אנשים מן־הסופרים אמרו בלבבם מגדף הוא׃
Mat 9:4 וישוע ראה את־מחשבתם ויאמר למה תחשבו רעה בלבבכם׃
Mat 9:5 כי מה הנקל האמר נסלחו־לך חטאתיך אם־אמר קום התהלך׃
Mat 9:6 אך למען תדעון כי בן־האדם יש־לו השלטן בארץ לסלח לחטאים ויאמר אל־נכה האברים קום שא את־מטתך ולך־לך אל־ביתך׃
Mat 9:7 ויקם וילך לביתו׃
Mat 9:8 והמון העם ראו וישתוממו וישבחו את־האלהים אשר נתן שלטן כזה לבני אדם׃
Mat 9:9 ויהי בעבר ישוע משם וירא איש ישב בבית־המכס ושמו מתי ויאמר אליו לכה אחרי ויקם וילך אחריו׃
Mat 9:10 ויהי בהסבו בביתו והנה מוכסים וחטאים רבים באו ויסבו עם־ישוע ותלמידיו׃
Mat 9:11 ויראו הפרושים ויאמרו אל־תלמידיו מדוע יאכל רבכם עם־המוכסים והחטאים׃
Mat 9:12 וישמע ישוע ויאמר אליהם החזקים אינם צריכים לרפא כי אם־החולים׃
Mat 9:13 ואתם צאו ולמדו מה הוא שנאמר חסד חפצתי ולא זבח כי לא־באתי לקרא את־הצדיקים כי אם־את־החטאים (לתשובה)׃
Mat 9:14 ויגשו אליו תלמידי יוחנן ויאמרו מדוע אנחנו והפרושים צמים הרבה ותלמידיך אינם צמים׃
Mat 9:15 ויאמר אליהם ישוע איך יוכלו בני החפה להתאבל בעוד החתן עמהם הנה ימים באים ולקח מאתם החתן ואז יצומו׃
Mat 9:16 אין אדם משים טלאי חדש על־שמלה בלה כי ינתק הטלאי מן־השמלה ויתרחב הקרע׃
Mat 9:17 ואין נותנים יין חדש בנאדות בלים פן־יבקעו הנאדות והיין ישפך והנאדות יאבדו אבל נותנים את־היין החדש בנאדות חדשים ושניהם יחדו ישמרו׃
Mat 9:18 ויהי הוא מדבר אליהם את־הדברים האלה והנה אחד השרים בא וישתחו־לו ויאמר עתה זה מתה בתי בא־נא ושים את־ידך עליה ותחיה׃
Mat 9:19 ויקם ישוע וילך אחריו הוא ותלמידיו׃
Mat 9:20 והנה אשה זבת דם שתים עשרה שנה נגשה מאחריו ותגע בכנף בגדו׃
Mat 9:21 כי אמרה בלבה רק אם־אגע בבגדו אושע׃
Mat 9:22 ויפן ישוע וירא אותה ויאמר חזקי בתי אמונתך הושיעה לך ותושע האשה מן־השעה ההיא׃
Mat 9:23 ויבא ישוע אל־בית השר וירא את המחללים בחלילים ואת־העם ההומה ויאמר׃
Mat 9:24 סורו מפה כי לא מתה הילדה אך ישנה היא וישחקו לו׃
Mat 9:25 ויהי כאשר הוציאו את־העם משם ויבא הביתה ויאחז בידה ותקם הנערה׃
Mat 9:26 ותצא השמועה הזאת בכל־הארץ ההיא׃
Mat 9:27 ויעבר ישוע משם וילכו אחריו שני אנשים עורים והמה צעקים ואמרים חננו בן־דוד׃
Mat 9:28 וכבואו הביתה נגשו אליו העורים ויאמר אליהם ישוע המאמינים אתם כי יש־לאל ידי לעשות זאת ויאמרו אליו הן אדנינו׃
Mat 9:29 ויגע בעיניהם ויאמר יהי לכם כאמונתכם׃
Mat 9:30 ותפקחנה עיניהם ויגער־בם ישוע ויאמר ראו פן־יודע לאיש׃
Mat 9:31 והמה בצאתם השמיעו את־שמעו בכל־הארץ ההיא׃
Mat 9:32 המה יצאו והנה הביאו אליו איש אלם אחוז שד׃
Mat 9:33 ויגרש את־השד והאלם החל לדבר ויתמה המון האנשים ויאמרו מעולם לא־נראתה כזאת בישראל׃
Mat 9:34 והפרושים אמרו על־ידי שר השדים מגרש הוא את השדים׃
Mat 9:35 ויסב ישוע בכל־הערים והכפרים וילמד בכנסיותיהם ויבשר בשורת המלכות וירפא כל־מחלה וכל־מדוה בעם׃
Mat 9:36 ובראותו את־ההמנים נכמרו רחמיו עליהם כי הם מתעלפים ונדחים כצאן אשר אין־להם רעה׃
Mat 9:37 אז ידבר לתלמידיו ויאמר רב הקציר והפעלים מעטים׃
Mat 9:38 לכן התחננו אל־בעל הקציר לשלח פעלים לקצירו׃
Mat 10:1 ויקרא אליו את־שנים עשר תלמידיו ויתן להם שלטן על־רוחות הטמאה לגרשם ולרפוא כל־חלי וכל־מדוה׃
Mat 10:2 ואלה שמות שנים עשר השליחים הראשון שמעון הנקרא פטרוס ואנדרי אחיו יעקב בן־זבדי ויוחנן אחיו׃
Mat 10:3 פילפוס ובר־תלמי תומא ומתי המוכס יעקב בן־חלפי ו (לבי המכנה) תדי׃
Mat 10:4 שמעון הקני ויהודה איש־קריות הוא המסר אתו׃
Mat 10:5 את־שנים העשר האלה שלח ישוע ויצו אתם לאמר אל־דרך הגוים אל־תלכו ואל־עיר השמרונים אל־תבאו׃
Mat 10:6 לכו אל־הצאן האבדות אשר לבית־ישראל׃
Mat 10:7 ובלכתכם קראו לאמר מלכות השמים קרבה לבוא׃
Mat 10:8 רפאו את החולים טהרו את המצרעים הקימו את המתים ואת השדים גרשו חנם לקחתם חנם תתנו׃
Mat 10:9 לא־תקחו זהב ולא כסף ולא נחשת בחגוריכם׃
Mat 10:10 ולא תרמיל לדרך ולא שתי כתנות ולא נעלים ולא מטה כי־ראוי לפעל די מחיתו׃
Mat 10:11 וכל־עיר וכפר אשר תבאו שמה דרשו מי הוא הגון לזה בתוכה ושם שבו עד צאתכם׃
Mat 10:12 ובבואכם אל־הבית שאלו־לו לשלום׃
Mat 10:13 והיה אם־הגון הבית יבוא עליו שלומכם ואם־איננו הגון שלומכם אליכם ישוב׃
Mat 10:14 וכל אשר לא־יקבל אתכם ולא ישמע לדבריכם ויצאתם מן־הבית ההוא ומן־העיר ההיא ונערתם את־עפר רגליכם׃
Mat 10:15 אמן אמר אני לכם כי יקל לארץ־סדום ועמרה ביום הדין מן־העיר ההיא׃
Mat 10:16 הנה אנכי שלח אתכם כשלח כבשים בין זאבים לכן היו ערומים כנחשים ותמימים כיונים׃
Mat 10:17 והשמרו לכם מבני האדם כי ימסרו אתכם לסנהדריות ויכו אתכם בשוטים בכנסיותיהם׃
Mat 10:18 ולפני משלים ומלכים תובאו למעני לעדות להם ולגוים׃
Mat 10:19 וכי ימסרו אתכם אל־תדאגו איך תדברו ומה תדברו כי ינתן לכם בשעה ההיא את אשר תדברון׃
Mat 10:20 כי לא אתם הם המדברים כי רוח אביכם הוא המדבר בפיכם׃
Mat 10:21 ואח ימסר את־אחיו למות ואב ימסר את־בנו וקמו בנים באבותם וימיתו אותם׃
Mat 10:22 והייתם שנואים לכל־אדם למען שמי והמחכה עד־עת קץ הוא יושע׃
Mat 10:23 ואם־ירדפו אתכם בעיר אחת נוסו לעיר אחרת כי אמן אמר אני לכם לא תכלו לעבר ערי ישראל עד כי־יבוא בן־האדם׃
Mat 10:24 אין תלמיד נעלה על־רבו ועבד על־אדניו׃
Mat 10:25 דיו לתלמיד להיות כרבו ולעבד להיות כאדניו אם־לבעל הבית קראו בעל־זבול אף כי־לאנשי ביתו׃
Mat 10:26 על־כן לא תיראו מפניהם כי אין דבר מכסה אשר לא יגלה ואין נעלם אשר לא יודע׃
Mat 10:27 את אשר אני אמר לכם בחשך דברו באור ואשר ילחש לאזניכם השמיעו מעל הגגות׃
Mat 10:28 ואל־תיראו מן־ההרגים את־הגוף ואת־הנפש לא־יוכלו להרג אך תיראו את אשר־יוכל לאבד גם את־הנפש גם את־הגוף בגיהנם׃
Mat 10:29 הלא תמכרנה שתי צפרים באסר ואחת מהנה לא תפול ארצה מבלעדי אביכם׃
Mat 10:30 ואתם גם־שערות ראשכם נמנות כלן׃
Mat 10:31 לכן אל־תיראו הנה יקרתם מצפרים רבות׃
Mat 10:32 הן כל־אשר יודה בי לפני האדם אודה־בו גם־אני לפני אבי שבשמים׃
Mat 10:33 ואשר יכחש בי לפני האדם אכחש־בו גם־אני לפני אבי שבשמים׃
Mat 10:34 אל־תחשבו כי באתי להטיל שלום בארץ לא באתי להטיל שלום כי אם־חרב׃
Mat 10:35 כי באתי להפריד בין איש ואביו ובין בת ואמה ובין כלה וחמותה׃
Mat 10:36 ואיבי איש אנשי ביתו׃
Mat 10:37 האהב את־אביו ואת־אמו יותר ממני אינו כדי לי והאהב את־בנו ובתו יותר ממני אינו כדי לי׃
Mat 10:38 ואשר לא־יקח את־צלובו והלך אחרי אינו כדי לי׃
Mat 10:39 המצא את־נפשו יאבדנה והמאבד את־נפשו למעני הוא ימצאנה׃
Mat 10:40 המקבל אתכם אותי הוא מקבל והמקבל אותי הוא מקבל את אשר שלחני׃
Mat 10:41 המקבל נביא לשם נביא שכר נביא יקח והמקבל צדיק לשם צדיק שכר צדיק יקח׃
Mat 10:42 והמשקה את־אחד הקטנים האלה רק כוס מים קרים לשם תלמיד אמן אמר אני לכם כי לא־יאבד שכרו׃

Mattithyahu 8-10
Mat 8:1 And when He came down from the mountain, large crowds followed Him.
Mat 8:2 And see, a leper came, and bowed before Him, saying, “Master, if You desire, You are able to make me clean.”
Mat 8:3 And stretching out His hand יהושע touched him, saying, “I desire it. Be cleansed!” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
Mat 8:4 And יהושע said to him, “See, mention it to no one. But go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moshe commanded, as a witness to them.”
Mat 8:5 And when יהושע had entered Kephar Naḥum, a captain came to Him, appealing to Him,
Mat 8:6 saying, “Master, my servant is lying in the house paralyzed, grievously tortured.”
Mat 8:7 And יהושע said to him, “I shall come and heal him.”
Mat 8:8 And the captain answering, said, “Master, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only say a word, and my servant shall be healed.
Mat 8:9 “For I too am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes, and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
Mat 8:10 And when יהושע heard, He marveled, and said to those who followed, “Truly, I say to you, not even in Yisra’ĕl have I found such great belief!
Mat 8:11 “And I say to you that many shall come from east and west, and sit down with Avraham, and Yitzchak, and Ya`akov in the reign of the heavens,
Mat 8:12 but the sons of the reign shall be cast out into outer darkness – there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
Mat 8:13 And יהושע said to the captain, “Go, and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that hour.
Mat 8:14 And when יהושע had come into the house of Kĕpha, He saw his wife’s mother lying sick with inflammation.
Mat 8:15 And He touched her hand, and the inflammation left her. And she arose and served them.
Mat 8:16 And when evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick,
Mat 8:17 that it might be filled what was spoken by Yesha’Yahu the prophet, saying, “He Himself took our weaknesses and bore our sicknesses.”
Mat 8:18 And when יהושע saw large crowds about Him, He gave a command to go off to the other side.
Mat 8:19 And a certain scribe, having come near, said to Him, “Teacher, I shall follow You wherever You go.”
Mat 8:20 And יהושע said to him, “The foxes have holes and the birds of the heaven nests, but the Son of Aḏam has nowhere to lay His head.”
Mat 8:21 And another of His taught ones said to Him, “Master, first let me go and bury my father.”
Mat 8:22 But יהושע said to him, “Follow Me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead.”
Mat 8:23 And when He entered into a boat, His taught ones followed Him.
Mat 8:24 And see, a great gale arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered by the waves. But He was sleeping.
Mat 8:25 And His taught ones came to Him and woke Him up, saying, “Master, save us! We are perishing!”
Mat 8:26 And He said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little belief?” Then, having risen, He rebuked the winds and the sea. And there was a great calm.
Mat 8:27 And the men marveled, saying, “What is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?”
Mat 8:28 And when He came to the other side, to the country of the Girgashites, two demon-possessed ones met Him, coming out of the tombs, very fierce, so that no one was able to pass that way.
Mat 8:29 And see, they cried out, saying, “What have we to do with You, יהושע, Son of Elohim? Have You come here to torture us, before the appointed time?”
Mat 8:30 And at a distance from them there was a herd of many pigs feeding,
Mat 8:31 and the demons begged Him, saying, “If You cast us out, send us into the herd of pigs.”
Mat 8:32 And He said to them, “Go.” And they, coming out, went into the herd of pigs. And see, the entire herd of pigs rushed down the steep place into the sea, and died in the water.
Mat 8:33 And the herdsmen fled, and went away into the city and reported all this, and about those possessed by demons.
Mat 8:34 And see, all the city came out to meet יהושע. And when they saw Him, they begged Him to leave their borders.
Mat 9:1 And entering into a boat, He passed over, and came to His own city.
Mat 9:2 And see, they were bringing to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. And יהושע, seeing their belief, said to the paralytic, “Take courage, son, your sins have been forgiven.”
Mat 9:3 And see, some of the scribes said to themselves, “This One blasphemes!”
Mat 9:4 And יהושע, knowing their thoughts, said, “Why do you think wicked thoughts in your hearts?
Mat 9:5 “For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins have been forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Arise and walk’?
Mat 9:6 “But in order for you to know that the Son of Aḏam possesses authority on earth to forgive sins...” He then said to the paralytic, “Rise, take up your bed, and go to your house.”
Mat 9:7 And he rose and went to his house.
Mat 9:8 And when the crowds saw it, they marveled and praised Elohim who had given such authority to men.
Mat 9:9 And as יהושע passed on from there, He saw a man called Mattithyahu sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, “Follow Me.” And he rose and followed Him.
Mat 9:10 And it came to be, as יהושע sat at the table in the house, that see, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Him and His taught ones.
Mat 9:11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to His taught ones, “Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”
Mat 9:12 And יהושע hearing this, said to them, “Those who are strong have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.
Mat 9:13 “But go and learn what this means, ‘I desire compassion and not offering.’ For I did not come to call the righteous to repentance, but sinners.”
Mat 9:14 Then the taught ones of Yochanan came to Him, saying, “Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but Your taught ones do not fast?”
Mat 9:15 And יהושע said to them, “Are the friends of the bridegroom able to mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days shall come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they shall fast.
Mat 9:16 “And no one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch pulls away from the garment, and the tear is made worse.
Mat 9:17 “Neither do they put new wine into old wineskins, or else the wineskins burst, and the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But they put new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved.”
Mat 9:18 While He was saying all this to them, see, a ruler came and bowed down to Him, saying, “My daughter is dead by now, but come and lay Your hand on her and she shall live.”
Mat 9:19 And יהושע rose and followed him, His taught ones too.
Mat 9:20 And see, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the tzitzit1 of His garment. Footnote: 1See “Tzitzit” - Explanatory Notes and Num. 15:37-41, Dt. 22:12.
Mat 9:21 For she said to herself, “If I only touch His garment, I shall be healed.”
Mat 9:22 But יהושע turned, and when He saw her He said, “Take courage, daughter, your belief has healed you.” And the woman was healed from that hour.
Mat 9:23 And when יהושע came into the ruler’s house, and saw the flute players and the crowd making a noise,
Mat 9:24 He said to them, “Go back, for the girl is not dead, but sleeping.” And they laughed at Him.
Mat 9:25 But when the crowd was put outside, He went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose.
Mat 9:26 And this report went out into all that land.
Mat 9:27 And as יהושע passed on from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, “Son of Dawiḏ, have compassion on us!”
Mat 9:28 And when He came into the house, the blind men came to Him. And יהושע said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yea, Master.”
Mat 9:29 Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your belief let it be to you.”
Mat 9:30 And their eyes were opened. And יהושע strictly ordered them, saying, “See, let no one know.”
Mat 9:31 But when they went out, they made Him known in all that land.
Mat 9:32 And as they were going out, see, they brought to Him a man, dumb and demon-possessed.
Mat 9:33 And when the demon was cast out, the dumb one spoke. And the crowds marveled, saying, “It was never seen like this in Yisra’ĕl!”
Mat 9:34 But the Pharisees said, “He casts out demons by the ruler of the demons.”
Mat 9:35 And יהושע went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their congregations, and proclaiming the Good News of the reign, and healing every disease and every bodily weakness among the people.
Mat 9:36 And having seen the crowds, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, as sheep having no shepherd.
Mat 9:37 Then He said to His taught ones, “The harvest truly is great, but the workers are few.
Mat 9:38 “Pray then that the Master of the harvest would send out workers to His harvest.”
Mat 10:1 And having called His twelve taught ones near, He gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every bodily weakness.
Mat 10:2 And these are the names of the twelve emissaries: first, Shimʽon, who is called Kĕpha, and Andri his brother; Ya`akov̱ the son of Zaḇdai, and Yochanan his brother;
Mat 10:3 Philip and Bartholomi; T’oma and Mattithyahu the tax collector; Yaʽaqoḇ the son of Alphai, and Laḇai whose last name was Taddai;
Mat 10:4 Shimʽon the Kenaʽanite, and Yehuḏah from Qerioth, who did also deliver Him up.
Mat 10:5 יהושע sent these twelve out, having commanded them, saying, “Do not go into the way of the gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Shomeronites,
Mat 10:6 but rather go to the lost sheep of the house of Yisra’ĕl.
Mat 10:7 “And as you go, proclaim, saying, ‘The reign of the heavens has drawn near.’
Mat 10:8 “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. You have received without paying, give without being paid.
Mat 10:9 “Do not acquire gold or silver or copper for your moneybelts,
Mat 10:10 or a bag for the journey, or two undergarments, or sandals, or staffs, for the worker is worthy of his food.
Mat 10:11 “And into whatever city or village you enter, ask who is worthy in it, and stay there until you leave.
Mat 10:12 “And as you enter into a house, greet it.
Mat 10:13 “And if the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it. But if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.
Mat 10:14 “And whoever does not receive you nor hear your words, when you leave that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet.
Mat 10:15 “Truly, I say to you, it shall be more bearable for the land of S’dom and Amora in the day of judgment than for that city!
Mat 10:16 “See, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.
Mat 10:17 “But beware of men, for they shall deliver you up to sanhedrins and flog you in their congregations.
Mat 10:18 “And you shall be brought before governors and sovereigns for My sake, as a witness to them and to the gentiles.
Mat 10:19 “But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it shall be given to you in that hour what you shall speak,
Mat 10:20 for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking in you.
Mat 10:21 “And brother shall deliver up brother to death, and a father his child. And children shall rise up against parents and shall put them to death.
Mat 10:22 “And you shall be hated by all for My Name’s sake. But he who shall have endured to the end shall be saved.1 Footnote: 1See 24:13.
Mat 10:23 “And when they persecute you in this city, flee to another. For truly, I say to you, you shall by no means have gone through the cities of Yisra’ĕl before the Son of Aḏam comes.
Mat 10:24 “A taught one is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master.
Mat 10:25 “It is enough for the taught one to become like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beʽelzebul, how much more those of his household!
Mat 10:26 “Therefore do not fear them. For whatever is covered shall be revealed, and whatever is hidden shall be made known.
Mat 10:27 “What I say to you in the dark, speak in the light. And what you hear in the ear, proclaim on the house-tops.
Mat 10:28 “And do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the being. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both being and body in Gehenna.
Mat 10:29 “Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground without your Father.
Mat 10:30 “And even the hairs of your head are all numbered.
Mat 10:31 “So do not fear, you are worth more than many sparrows.
Mat 10:32 “Everyone, therefore, who shall confess Me before men, him I shall also confess before My Father who is in the heavens.
Mat 10:33 “But whoever shall deny Me before men, him I shall also deny before My Father who is in the heavens.
Mat 10:34 “Do not think that I have come to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword,1 Footnote: 1In Lk. 12:51 the word “division” is used, while “sword” has the same meaning here.
Mat 10:35 for I have come to bring division, a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law –
Mat 10:36 and a man’s enemies are those of his own household.1 Footnote: 1Lk. 12:53, Mic. 7:6.
Mat 10:37 “He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me, and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.1 Footnote: 1See 19:29, Lk. 14:26.
Mat 10:38 “And he who does not take up his stake and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.
Mat 10:39 “He who has found his life shall lose it, and he that has lost his life for My sake shall find it.
Mat 10:40 “He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.
Mat 10:41 “He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward. And he who receives a righteous one in the name of a righteous one shall receive a righteous one’s reward.
Mat 10:42 “And whoever gives one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a taught one, truly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.”

Melachim Bet 4:1 And a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared יהוה. And the lender has come to take my two sons to be his slaves.”
Melachim Bet 4:2 And Elisha said to her, “What should I do for you? Inform me, what do you have in the house?” And she said, “Your female servant has none at all in the house except a pot of oil.”
Melachim Bet 4:3 And he said, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors, empty vessels, do not get a few.
Melachim Bet 4:4 “And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons. Then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the filled ones.”
Melachim Bet 4:5 So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her, and she poured it out.
Melachim Bet 4:6 And it came to be, when the vessels were filled, that she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.” But he said to her, “There is not another vessel.” And the oil ceased.
Melachim Bet 4:7 So she went and informed the man of Elohim, and he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debt. And you and your sons live on the rest.”
Melachim Bet 4:8 And it came to be on a day that Elisha went to Shunĕm, where there was a prominent woman, and she urged him to eat some food. And it came to be, as often as he passed by, that he turned in there to eat some food.
Melachim Bet 4:9 And she said to her husband, “Look, I know that this is a set-apart man of Elohim, who passes by us continually.
Melachim Bet 4:10 “Please, let us make a small upper room on the wall, and let us put a bed for him there, and a table and a chair and a lampstand. And it shall be, whenever he comes to us, let him turn in there.”
Melachim Bet 4:11 And it came to be on a day that he came there, and he turned in to the upper room and lay down there.
Melachim Bet 4:12 And he said to Gĕḥazi his servant, “Call this Shunammite woman.” So he called her, and she stood before him.
Melachim Bet 4:13 And he said to him, “Please say to her, ‘Look, you have gone to all this trouble for us. What is there to be done for you? Should I speak on your behalf to the sovereign or to the commander of the army?’ ” And she answered, “I am dwelling among my own people.”
Melachim Bet 4:14 And he said, “What then is to be done for her?” And Gĕḥazi answered, “Well, she has no son, and her husband is old.”
Melachim Bet 4:15 And he said, “Call her.” So he called her, and she stood in the doorway.
Melachim Bet 4:16 And he said, “About this time next year you shall embrace a son.” And she said, “No, my master, man of Elohim, do not lie to your female servant!”
Melachim Bet 4:17 And the woman conceived, and bore a son when the appointed time had come, of which Elisha had spoken to her.
Melachim Bet 4:18 And the child grew. And it came to be on a day that he went out to his father, to the reapers,
Melachim Bet 4:19 and he said to his father, “My head, my head!” And he said to a servant, “Take him to his mother.”
Melachim Bet 4:20 So he took him and brought him to his mother, and he sat on her knees till noon, and died.
Melachim Bet 4:21 And she went up and laid him on the bed of the man of Elohim, and shut the door on him, and went out.
Melachim Bet 4:22 And she called to her husband, and said, “Please send me one of the young men and one of the donkeys, so that I hurry to the man of Elohim and return.”
Melachim Bet 4:23 And he said, “Why are you going to him today? It is neither the New Moon nor the Sabbath.” And she said, “It is well!”
Melachim Bet 4:24 And she saddled the donkey and said to her servant, “Drive and go, do not slow down, except I speak to you.”
Melachim Bet 4:25 And she went, and came to the man of Elohim at Mount Karmel. And it came to be, when the man of Elohim saw her at a distance, that he said to his servant Gĕḥazi, “See, the Shunammite woman.
Melachim Bet 4:26 “Please run now to meet her, and say to her, ‘Is it well with you? Is it well with your husband? Is it well with the child?’ ” And she answered, “It is well.”
Melachim Bet 4:27 And she came to the man of Elohim at the hill, and she caught him by the feet, but Gĕḥazi came near to push her away. But the man of Elohim said, “Leave her alone, for her being is bitter in her, and יהוה has hidden it from me, and has not revealed it to me.”
Melachim Bet 4:28 And she said, “Did I ask a son of my master? Did I not say, ‘Do not deceive me’?”
Melachim Bet 4:29 And he said to Gĕḥazi, “Gird up your loins, and take my staff in your hand, and go. When you meet anyone, do not greet him, and when anyone greets you, do not answer him. And you shall lay my staff on the face of the child.”
Melachim Bet 4:30 And the mother of the child said, “As יהוה lives, and as your being lives, I do not leave you.” And he rose and followed her.
Melachim Bet 4:31 And Gĕḥazi went on ahead of them, and laid the staff on the face of the child. But there was no voice and there was no hearing, so he went back to meet him, and reported to him, saying, “The child has not awakened.”
Melachim Bet 4:32 And Elisha came into the house and saw the child was dead, lying on his bed,
Melachim Bet 4:33 and he went in, and shut the door behind the two of them, and prayed to יהוה.
Melachim Bet 4:34 And he went up and lay on the child, and put his mouth on his mouth, and his eyes on his eyes, and his hands on his hands, and stretched himself out on the child, and the flesh of the child became warm.
Melachim Bet 4:35 And he returned and walked back and forth in the house, then went up and stretched himself out on him. And the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.
Melachim Bet 4:36 And he called Gĕḥazi and said, “Call this Shunammite.” So he called her. And she came in to him, and he said, “Pick up your son.”
Melachim Bet 4:37 Then she went in and fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground, and picked up her son and went out.

B’reisheet 19:13 כי־משׁחתים אנחנו את־המקום הזה כי־גדלה צעקתם את־פני יהוה וישׁלחנו יהוה לשׁחתה׃
B’reisheet 19:14 ויצא לוט וידבר אל־חתניו לקחי בנתיו ויאמר קומו צאו מן־המקום הזה כי־משׁחית יהוה את־העיר ויהי כמצחק בעיני חתניו׃
B’reisheet 19:15 וכמו השׁחר עלה ויאיצו המלאכים בלוט לאמר קום קח את־אשׁתך ואת־שׁתי בנתיך הנמצאת פן־תספה בעון העיר׃
B’reisheet 19:16 ויתמהמה ויחזיקו האנשׁים בידו וביד־אשׁתו וביד שׁתי בנתיו בחמלת יהוה עליו ויצאהו וינחהו מחוץ לעיר׃
B’reisheet 19:17 ויהי כהוציאם אתם החוצה ויאמר המלט על־נפשׁך אל־תביט אחריך ואל־תעמד בכל־הככר ההרה המלט פן־תספה׃
B’reisheet 19:18 ויאמר לוט אלהם אל־נא אדני׃
B’reisheet 19:19 הנה־נא מצא עבדך חן בעיניך ותגדל חסדך אשׁר עשׂית עמדי להחיות את־נפשׁי ואנכי לא אוכל להמלט ההרה פן־תדבקני הרעה ומתי׃
B’reisheet 19:20 הנה־נא העיר הזאת קרבה לנוס שׁמה והוא מצער אמלטה נא שׁמה הלא מצער הוא ותחי נפשׁי׃
B’reisheet 19:21 ויאמר אליו הנה נשׂאתי פניך גם לדבר הזה לבלתי הפכי את־העיר אשׁר דברת׃
B’reisheet 19:22 מהר המלט שׁמה כי לא אוכל לעשׂות דבר עד־באך שׁמה על־כן קרא שׁם־העיר צוער׃
B’reisheet 19:23 השׁמשׁ יצא על־הארץ ולוט בא צערה׃
B’reisheet 19:24 ויהוה המטיר על־סדם ועל־עמרה גפרית ואשׁ מאת יהוה מן־השׁמים׃
B’reisheet 19:25 ויהפך את־הערים האל ואת כל־הככר ואת כל־ישׁבי הערים וצמח האדמה׃
B’reisheet 19:26 ותבט אשׁתו מאחריו ותהי נציב מלח׃
B’reisheet 19:27 וישׁכם אברהם בבקר אל־המקום אשׁר־עמד שׁם את־פני יהוה׃
B’reisheet 19:28 וישׁקף על־פני סדם ועמרה ועל־כל־פני ארץ הככר וירא והנה עלה קיטר הארץ כקיטר הכבשׁן׃
B’reisheet 19:29 ויהי בשׁחת אלהים את־ערי הככר ויזכר אלהים את־אברהם וישׁלח את־לוט מתוך ההפכה בהפך את־הערים אשׁר־ישׁב בהן לוט׃
B’reisheet 19:30 ויעל לוט מצוער וישׁב בהר ושׁתי בנתיו עמו כי ירא לשׁבת בצוער וישׁב במערה הוא ושׁתי בנתיו׃
B’reisheet 19:31 ותאמר הבכירה אל־הצעירה אבינו זקן ואישׁ אין בארץ לבוא עלינו כדרך כל־הארץ׃
B’reisheet 19:32 לכה נשׁקה את־אבינו יין ונשׁכבה עמו ונחיה מאבינו זרע׃
B’reisheet 19:33 ותשׁקין את־אביהן יין בלילה הוא ותבא הבכירה ותשׁכב את־אביה ולא־ידע בשׁכבה ובקומה׃
B’reisheet 19:34 ויהי ממחרת ותאמר הבכירה אל־הצעירה הן־שׁכבתי אמשׁ את־אבי נשׁקנו יין גם־הלילה ובאי שׁכבי עמו ונחיה מאבינו זרע׃
B’reisheet 19:35 ותשׁקין גם בלילה ההוא את־אביהן יין ותקם הצעירה ותשׁכב עמו ולא־ידע בשׁכבה ובקמה׃
B’reisheet 19:36 ותהרין שׁתי בנות־לוט מאביהן׃
B’reisheet 19:37 ותלד הבכירה בן ותקרא שׁמו מואב הוא אבי־מואב עד־היום׃
B’reisheet 19:38 והצעירה גם־הוא ילדה בן ותקרא שׁמו בן־עמי הוא אבי בני־עמון עד־היום׃
B’reisheet 20:1 ויסע משׁם אברהם ארצה הנגב וישׁב בין־קדשׁ ובין שׁור ויגר בגרר׃
B’reisheet 20:2 ויאמר אברהם אל־שׂרה אשׁתו אחתי הוא וישׁלח אבימלך מלך גרר ויקח את־שׂרה׃
B’reisheet 20:3 ויבא אלהים אל־אבימלך בחלום הלילה ויאמר לו הנך מת על־האשׁה אשׁר־לקחת והוא בעלת בעל׃
B’reisheet 20:4 ואבימלך לא קרב אליה ויאמר אדני הגוי גם־צדיק תהרג׃
B’reisheet 20:5 הלא הוא אמר־לי אחתי הוא והיא־גם־הוא אמרה אחי הוא בתם־לבבי ובנקין כפי עשׂיתי זאת׃
B’reisheet 20:6 ויאמר אליו האלהים בחלם גם אנכי ידעתי כי בתם־לבבך עשׂית זאת ואחשׂך גם־אנכי אותך מחטו־לי על־כן לא־נתתיך לנגע אליה׃
B’reisheet 20:7 ועתה השׁב אשׁת־האישׁ כי־נביא הוא ויתפלל בעדך וחיה ואם־אינך משׁיב דע כי־מות תמות אתה וכל־אשׁר־לך׃
B’reisheet 20:8 וישׁכם אבימלך בבקר ויקרא לכל־עבדיו וידבר את־כל־הדברים האלה באזניהם וייראו האנשׁים מאד׃
B’reisheet 20:9 ויקרא אבימלך לאברהם ויאמר לו מה־עשׂית לנו ומה־חטאתי לך כי־הבאת עלי ועל־ממלכתי חטאה גדלה מעשׂים אשׁר לא־יעשׂו עשׂית עמדי׃
B’reisheet 20:10 ויאמר אבימלך אל־אברהם מה ראית כי עשׂית את־הדבר הזה׃
B’reisheet 20:11 ויאמר אברהם כי אמרתי רק אין־יראת אלהים במקום הזה והרגוני על־דבר אשׁתי׃
B’reisheet 20:12 וגם־אמנה אחתי בת־אבי הוא אך לא בת־אמי ותהי־לי לאשׁה׃
B’reisheet 20:13 ויהי כאשׁר התעו אתי אלהים מבית אבי ואמר לה זה חסדך אשׁר תעשׂי עמדי אל כל־המקום אשׁר נבוא שׁמה אמרי־לי אחי הוא׃
B’reisheet 20:14 ויקח אבימלך צאן ובקר ועבדים ושׁפחת ויתן לאברהם וישׁב לו את שׂרה אשׁתו׃
B’reisheet 20:15 ויאמר אבימלך הנה ארצי לפניך בטוב בעיניך שׁב׃
B’reisheet 20:16 ולשׂרה אמר הנה נתתי אלף כסף לאחיך הנה הוא־לך כסות עינים לכל אשׁר אתך ואת כל ונכחת׃
B’reisheet 20:17 ויתפלל אברהם אל־האלהים וירפא אלהים את־אבימלך ואת־אשׁתו ואמהתיו וילדו׃
B’reisheet 20:18 כי־עצר עצר יהוה בעד כל־רחם לבית אבימלך על־דבר שׂרה אשׁת אברהם׃
B’reisheet 21:1 ויהוה פקד את־שׂרה כאשׁר אמר ויעשׂ יהוה לשׂרה כאשׁר דבר׃
B’reisheet 21:2 ותהר ותלד שׂרה לאברהם בן לזקניו למועד אשׁר־דבר אתו אלהים׃
B’reisheet 21:3 ויקרא אברהם את־שׁם־בנו הנולד־לו אשׁר־ילדה־לו שׂרה יצחק׃
B’reisheet 21:4 וימל אברהם את־יצחק בנו בן־שׁמנת ימים כאשׁר צוה אתו אלהים׃
B’reisheet 21:5 ואברהם בן־מאת שׁנה בהולד לו את יצחק בנו׃
B’reisheet 21:6 ותאמר שׂרה צחק עשׂה לי אלהים כל־השׁמע יצחק־לי׃
B’reisheet 21:7 ותאמר מי מלל לאברהם היניקה בנים שׂרה כי־ילדתי בן לזקניו׃
B’reisheet 21:8 ויגדל הילד ויגמל ויעשׂ אברהם משׁתה גדול ביום הגמל את־יצחק׃
B’reisheet 21:9 ותרא שׂרה את־בן־הגר המצרית אשׁר־ילדה לאברהם מצחק׃
B’reisheet 21:10 ותאמר לאברהם גרשׁ האמה הזאת ואת־בנה כי לא יירשׁ בן־האמה הזאת עם־בני עם־יצחק׃
B’reisheet 21:11 וירע הדבר מאד בעיני אברהם על אודת בנו׃
B’reisheet 21:12 ויאמר אלהים אל־אברהם אל־ירע בעיניך על־הנער ועל־אמתך כל אשׁר תאמר אליך שׂרה שׁמע בקלה כי ביצחק יקרא לך זרע׃
B’reisheet 21:13 וגם את־בן־האמה לגוי אשׂימנו כי זרעך הוא׃
B’reisheet 21:14 וישׁכם אברהם בבקר ויקח־לחם וחמת מים ויתן אל־הגר שׂם על־שׁכמה ואת־הילד וישׁלחה ותלך ותתע במדבר באר שׁבע׃
B’reisheet 21:15 ויכלו המים מן־החמת ותשׁלך את־הילד תחת אחד השׂיחם׃
B’reisheet 21:16 ותלך ותשׁב לה מנגד הרחק כמטחוי קשׁת כי אמרה אל־אראה במות הילד ותשׁב מנגד ותשׂא את־קלה ותבך׃
B’reisheet 21:17 וישׁמע אלהים את־קול הנער ויקרא מלאך אלהים אל־הגר מן־השׁמים ויאמר לה מה־לך הגר אל־תיראי כי־שׁמע אלהים אל־קול הנער באשׁר הוא־שׁם׃
B’reisheet 21:18 קומי שׂאי את־הנער והחזיקי את־ידך בו כי־לגוי גדול אשׂימנו׃
B’reisheet 21:19 ויפקח אלהים את־עיניה ותרא באר מים ותלך ותמלא את־החמת מים ותשׁק את־הנער׃
B’reisheet 21:20 ויהי אלהים את־הנער ויגדל וישׁב במדבר ויהי רבה קשׁת׃
B’reisheet 21:21 וישׁב במדבר פארן ותקח־לו אמו אשׁה מארץ מצרים׃
B’reisheet 21:22 ויהי בעת ההוא ויאמר אבימלך ופיכל שׂר־צבאו אל־אברהם לאמר אלהים עמך בכל אשׁר־אתה עשׂה׃
B’reisheet 21:23 ועתה השׁבעה לי באלהים הנה אם־תשׁקר לי ולניני ולנכדי כחסד אשׁר־עשׂיתי עמך תעשׂה עמדי ועם־הארץ אשׁר־גרתה בה׃
B’reisheet 21:24 ויאמר אברהם אנכי אשׁבע׃
B’reisheet 21:25 והוכח אברהם את־אבימלך על־אדות באר המים אשׁר גזלו עבדי אבימלך׃
B’reisheet 21:26 ויאמר אבימלך לא ידעתי מי עשׂה את־הדבר הזה וגם־אתה לא־הגדת לי וגם אנכי לא שׁמעתי בלתי היום׃
B’reisheet 21:27 ויקח אברהם צאן ובקר ויתן לאבימלך ויכרתו שׁניהם ברית׃
B’reisheet 21:28 ויצב אברהם את־שׁבע כבשׂת הצאן לבדהן׃
B’reisheet 21:29 ויאמר אבימלך אל־אברהם מה הנה שׁבע כבשׂת האלה אשׁר הצבת לבדנה׃
B’reisheet 21:30 ויאמר כי את־שׁבע כבשׂת תקח מידי בעבור תהיה־לי לעדה כי חפרתי את־הבאר הזאת׃
B’reisheet 21:31 על־כן קרא למקום ההוא באר שׁבע כי שׁם נשׁבעו שׁניהם׃
B’reisheet 21:32 ויכרתו ברית בבאר שׁבע ויקם אבימלך ופיכל שׂר־צבאו וישׁבו אל־ארץ פלשׁתים׃
B’reisheet 21:33 ויטע אשׁל בבאר שׁבע ויקרא־שׁם בשׁם יהוה אל עולם׃
B’reisheet 21:34 ויגר אברהם בארץ פלשׁתים ימים רבים׃
B’reisheet 22:1 ויהי אחר הדברים האלה והאלהים נסה את־אברהם ויאמר אליו אברהם ויאמר הנני׃
B’reisheet 22:2 ויאמר קח־נא את־בנך את־יחידך אשׁר־אהבת את־יצחק ולך־לך אל־ארץ המריה והעלהו שׁם לעלה על אחד ההרים אשׁר אמר אליך׃
B’reisheet 22:3 וישׁכם אברהם בבקר ויחבשׁ את־חמרו ויקח את־שׁני נעריו אתו ואת יצחק בנו ויבקע עצי עלה ויקם וילך אל־המקום אשׁר־אמר־לו האלהים׃
B’reisheet 22:4 ביום השׁלישׁי וישׂא אברהם את־עיניו וירא את־המקום מרחק׃
B’reisheet 22:5 ויאמר אברהם אל־נעריו שׁבו־לכם פה עם־החמור ואני והנער נלכה עד־כה ונשׁתחוה ונשׁובה אליכם׃
B’reisheet 22:6 ויקח אברהם את־עצי העלה וישׂם על־יצחק בנו ויקח בידו את־האשׁ ואת־המאכלת וילכו שׁניהם יחדו׃
B’reisheet 22:7 ויאמר יצחק אל־אברהם אביו ויאמר אבי ויאמר הנני בני ויאמר הנה האשׁ והעצים ואיה השׂה לעלה׃
B’reisheet 22:8 ויאמר אברהם אלהים יראה־לו השׂה לעלה בני וילכו שׁניהם יחדו׃
B’reisheet 22:9 ויבאו אל־המקום אשׁר אמר־לו האלהים ויבן שׁם אברהם את־המזבח ויערך את־העצים ויעקד את־יצחק בנו וישׂם אתו על־המזבח ממעל לעצים׃
B’reisheet 22:10 וישׁלח אברהם את־ידו ויקח את־המאכלת לשׁחט את־בנו׃
B’reisheet 22:11 ויקרא אליו מלאך יהוה מן־השׁמים ויאמר אברהם אברהם ויאמר הנני׃
B’reisheet 22:12 ויאמר אל־תשׁלח ידך אל־הנער ואל־תעשׂ לו מאומה כי עתה ידעתי כי־ירא אלהים אתה ולא חשׂכת את־בנך את־יחידך ממני׃
B’reisheet 22:13 וישׂא אברהם את־עיניו וירא והנה־איל אחר נאחז בסבך בקרניו וילך אברהם ויקח את־האיל ויעלהו לעלה תחת בנו׃
B’reisheet 22:14 ויקרא אברהם שׁם־המקום ההוא יהוה יראה אשׁר יאמר היום בהר יהוה יראה׃
B’reisheet 22:15 ויקרא מלאך יהוה אל־אברהם שׁנית מן־השׁמים׃
B’reisheet 22:16 ויאמר בי נשׁבעתי נאם־יהוה כי יען אשׁר עשׂית את־הדבר הזה ולא חשׂכת את־בנך את־יחידך׃
B’reisheet 22:17 כי־ברך אברכך והרבה ארבה את־זרעך ככוכבי השׁמים וכחול אשׁר על־שׂפת הים וירשׁ זרעך את שׁער איביו׃
B’reisheet 22:18 והתברכו בזרעך כל גויי הארץ עקב אשׁר שׁמעת בקלי׃
B’reisheet 22:19 וישׁב אברהם אל־נעריו ויקמו וילכו יחדו אל־באר שׁבע וישׁב אברהם בבאר שׁבע׃
B’reisheet 22:20 ויהי אחרי הדברים האלה ויגד לאברהם לאמר הנה ילדה מלכה גם־הוא בנים לנחור אחיך׃
B’reisheet 22:21 את־עוץ בכרו ואת־בוז אחיו ואת־קמואל אבי ארם׃
B’reisheet 22:22 ואת־כשׂד ואת־חזו ואת־פלדשׁ ואת־ידלף ואת בתואל׃
B’reisheet 22:23 ובתואל ילד את־רבקה שׁמנה אלה ילדה מלכה לנחור אחי אברהם׃
B’reisheet 22:24 ופילגשׁו ושׁמה ראומה ותלד גם־הוא את־טבח ואת־גחם ואת־תחשׁ ואת־מעכה׃

B'reisheet 18:1-22:24
B’reisheet 18:1 And יהוה appeared to him by the terebinth trees of Mamrĕ, while he was sitting in the tent door in the heat of the day.
B’reisheet 18:2 So he lifted his eyes and looked, and saw three men standing opposite him. And when he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them, and bowed himself to the ground,
B’reisheet 18:3 and said, “יהוה, if I have now found favor in Your eyes, please do not pass Your servant by.
B’reisheet 18:4 “Please let a little water be brought, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree.
B’reisheet 18:5 “And let me bring a piece of bread and refresh your hearts, and then go on, for this is why you have come to your servant.” And they said, “Do as you have said.”
B’reisheet 18:6 So Avraham ran into the tent to Sarah and said, “Hurry, make ready three measures of fine flour, knead it and make cakes.”
B’reisheet 18:7 And Avraham ran to the herd, took a tender and good calf, gave it to a young man, and he hurried to prepare it.
B’reisheet 18:8 And he took curds and milk and the calf which he had prepared, and set it before them, and he stood by them under the tree as they ate.
B’reisheet 18:9 And they said to him, “Where is Sarah your wife?” And he said, “See, in the tent.”
B’reisheet 18:10 And He said, “I shall certainly return to you according to the time of life, and see, Sarah your wife is to have a son!” And Sarah was listening in the tent door which was behind him.
B’reisheet 18:11 Now Avraham and Sarah were old, well advanced in age, and Sarah was past the way of women.
B’reisheet 18:12 And Sarah laughed within herself, saying, “After I have grown old, shall I have pleasure, my master being old too?”
B’reisheet 18:13 And יהוה said to Avraham, “Why did Sarah laugh, saying, ‘Shall I truly have a child, since I am old?’
B’reisheet 18:14 “Is any matter too hard for יהוה? At the appointed time I am going to return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah is to have a son.”
B’reisheet 18:15 But Sarah denied it, saying, “I did not laugh,” for she was afraid. And He said, “No, but you did laugh!”
B’reisheet 18:16 And the men rose up from there and looked toward S’dom, and Avraham went with them to send them away.
B’reisheet 18:17 And יהוה said, “Shall I hide from Avraham what I am doing,
B’reisheet 18:18 since Avraham is certainly going to become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?
B’reisheet 18:19 “For I have known him, so that he commands his children and his household after him, to guard the way of יהוה, to do righteousness and right-ruling, so that יהוה brings to Avraham what He has spoken to him.”
B’reisheet 18:20 And יהוה said, “Because the outcry against S’dom and `Amora is great, and because their sin is very heavy,
B’reisheet 18:21 “I am going down now to see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry against it that has come to Me, and if not, I know.”
B’reisheet 18:22 So the men turned away from there and went toward S’dom, but יהוה still stood before Avraham.
B’reisheet 18:23 And Avraham drew near and said, “Would You also destroy the righteous with the wrong?
B’reisheet 18:24 “Suppose there are fifty righteous within the city, would You also destroy the place and not spare it for the fifty righteous that were in it?
B’reisheet 18:25 “Far be it from You to act in this way, to slay the righteous with the wrong, so that the righteous should be as the wrong. Far be it from You! Does the Judge of all the earth not do right?”
B’reisheet 18:26 And יהוה said, “If I find in S’dom fifty righteous within the city, then I shall spare all the place for their sakes.”
B’reisheet 18:27 And Avraham answered and said, “Look, please, I who am but dust and ashes have taken it upon myself to speak to יהוה,
B’reisheet 18:28 “Suppose there are five less than the fifty righteous, would You destroy all of the city for lack of five?” And He said, “If I find there forty-five, I do not destroy it.”
B’reisheet 18:29 And he spoke to Him yet again and said, “Suppose there are found forty?” And He said, “I would not do it for the sake of forty.”
B’reisheet 18:30 And he said, “Let not יהוה be displeased, and let me speak: Suppose there are found thirty?” And He said, “I would not do it if I find thirty there.”
B’reisheet 18:31 And he said, “Look, please, I have taken it upon myself to speak to יהוה: Suppose there are found twenty?” And He said, “I would not destroy it for the sake of twenty.”
B’reisheet 18:32 And he said, “Let not יהוה be displeased, and let me speak only this time: Suppose there are found ten?” And He said, “I would not destroy it for the sake of ten.”
B’reisheet 18:33 Then יהוה went away as soon as He had ended speaking to Avraham. And Avraham returned to his place.
B’reisheet 19:1 And the two messengers came to S’dom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of S’dom. And when Lot saw them, he rose up to meet them, and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground,
B’reisheet 19:2 and he said, “Look, please my masters, please turn in to your servant’s house and spend the night, and wash your feet, and rise early and go your way.” And they said, “No, but let us spend the night in the open square.”
B’reisheet 19:3 But he urged them strongly, and they turned in to him and came into his house. And he made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.
B’reisheet 19:4 Before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of S’dom, both old and young, all the people from every part, surrounded the house.
B’reisheet 19:5 And they called to Lot and said to him, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us, and let us ‘know’ them.”
B’reisheet 19:6 So Lot went out to them through the doorway, and shut the door behind him,
B’reisheet 19:7 and said, “Please, my brothers, do not do evil!
B’reisheet 19:8 “Look, please, I have two daughters who have not known a man. Please, let me bring them out to you, and do to them as you wish, only do no deed to these men, because they have come under the shadow of my roof.”
B’reisheet 19:9 But they said, “Stand back!” And they said, “This one came in to sojourn, and should he always judge? Now we are going to treat you worse than them.” So they pressed hard against the man Lot, and came near to break down the door.
B’reisheet 19:10 But the men reached out their hands and pulled Lot into the house with them, and shut the door.
B’reisheet 19:11 Then they struck the men who were at the doorway of the house with blindness, both small and great, and they wearied themselves to find the door.
B’reisheet 19:12 And the men said to Lot, “Have you anyone else here? A son-in-law, and your sons, and your daughters, and whomever you have in the city – bring them out of this place!
B’reisheet 19:13 “For we are going to destroy this place, because the cry against them has grown great before the face of יהוה, and יהוה has sent us to destroy it.”
B’reisheet 19:14 And Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who had married his daughters, and said, “Get up, get out of this place, for יהוה is going to destroy this city!” But to his sons-in-law he seemed to be as one joking.
B’reisheet 19:15 And when morning dawned, the messengers urged Lot to hurry, saying, “Get up, take your wife and your two daughters who are here, lest you be consumed in the punishment of the city.”
B’reisheet 19:16 And while he loitered, the men took hold of his hand, and his wife’s hand, and the hands of his two daughters, יהוה having compassion on him, and they brought him out and set him outside the city.
B’reisheet 19:17 And it came to be, when they had brought them outside, that he said, “Escape for your life! Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountains, lest you be consumed.”
B’reisheet 19:18 And Lot said to them, “Oh no, יהוה!
B’reisheet 19:19 “Look, please, your servant has found favor in your eyes, and you have increased your kindness which you have shown me by saving my life, but I am unable to escape to the mountains, lest calamity overtake me and I die.
B’reisheet 19:20 “Look, please, this city is near enough to flee to, and it is small. Please let me escape there – is it not a small matter – and let my life be saved?”
B’reisheet 19:21 And He said to him, “Look, I have favored you concerning this matter also, without overthrowing this city for which you have spoken.
B’reisheet 19:22 “Hurry, escape there. For I am not able to do any deed until you arrive there.” So the name of the city was called Tsoʽar.
B’reisheet 19:23 The sun had risen upon the earth when Lot entered Tsoʽar.
B’reisheet 19:24 And יהוה rained sulphur and fire on S’dom and `Amora, from יהוה out of the heavens.
B’reisheet 19:25 So He overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground.
B’reisheet 19:26 But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a memorial of salt.
B’reisheet 19:27 And Avraham arose early in the morning and went to the place where he had stood before יהוה,
B’reisheet 19:28 and he looked toward S’dom and `Amora, and toward all the land of the plain. And he looked and saw the smoke of the land which went up like the smoke of a furnace.
B’reisheet 19:29 Thus it came to be, when Elohim destroyed the cities of the plain, that Elohim remembered Avraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when He overthrew the cities in which Lot had dwelt.
B’reisheet 19:30 And Lot went up out of Tsoʽar and dwelt in the mountains, and his two daughters were with him, for he was afraid to dwell in Tsoʽar. And he and his two daughters dwelt in a cave.
B’reisheet 19:31 And the first-born said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is no man on the earth to come in to us, as is the way of all the earth.
B’reisheet 19:32 “Come, let us make our father drink wine and lie with him, so that we preserve the seed of our father.”
B’reisheet 19:33 So they made their father drink wine that night. And the first-born went in and lay with her father, and he was not aware of it when she lay down or when she arose.
B’reisheet 19:34 And it came to be on the next day that the first-born said to the younger, “See, I lay with my father last night. Let us make him drink wine tonight as well, and you go in and lie with him, so that we keep the seed of our father.”
B’reisheet 19:35 So they made their father drink wine that night as well. And the younger arose and lay with him, and he was not aware of it when she lay down or when she arose.
B’reisheet 19:36 Thus both the daughters of Lot became pregnant by their father.
B’reisheet 19:37 And the first-born bore a son and called his name Mo’aḇ, he is the father of the Mo’aḇites to this day.
B’reisheet 19:38 And the younger, she also bore a son and called his name Ben-Ammi, he is the father of the children of Ammon to this day.
B’reisheet 20:1 And Avraham set out from there to the land of the South, and dwelt between Qaḏĕsh and Shur, and stayed in Gerar.
B’reisheet 20:2 And Avraham said concerning Sarah his wife, “She is my sister.” And Aḇimeleḵ sovereign of Gerar sent and took Sarah.
B’reisheet 20:3 But Elohim came to Aḇimeleḵ in a dream by night, and said to him, “See, you are a dead man because of the woman whom you have taken, for she is a man’s wife.”
B’reisheet 20:4 However, Aḇimeleḵ had not come near her, and he said, “יהוה, would You slay a righteous nation also?
B’reisheet 20:5 “Did he not say to me, ‘She is my sister’? And she, even she herself said, ‘He is my brother.’ In the integrity of my heart and in the innocence of my hands I have done this.”
B’reisheet 20:6 And Elohim said to him in a dream, “Yea, I know that you did this in the integrity of your heart, and so I kept you from sinning against Me. For this reason I did not let you touch her.
B’reisheet 20:7 “And now, return the man’s wife, for he is a prophet, and let him pray for you and you live. But if you do not return her, know that you shall certainly die, you and all that are yours.”
B’reisheet 20:8 So Aḇimeleḵ rose early in the morning, and called all his servants, and spoke all these words in their hearing. And the men were greatly frightened.
B’reisheet 20:9 And Aḇimeleḵ called Avraham and said to him, “What have you done to us? In what have I sinned against you, that you have brought on me and on my reign a great sin? You have done matters to me that should not be done.”
B’reisheet 20:10 And Aḇimeleḵ said to Avraham, “What did you have in view, that you have done this matter?”
B’reisheet 20:11 And Avraham said, “Only because I said to myself, the fear of Elohim is not in this place, and they shall kill me for the sake of my wife.
B’reisheet 20:12 “And yet, she is truly my sister. She is the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother, and she became my wife.
B’reisheet 20:13 “And it came to be, when Elohim caused me to wander from my father’s house, that I said to her, ‘This is your kindness that you should do for me: in every place, wherever we go, say of me, “He is my brother.” ’ ”
B’reisheet 20:14 Then Aḇimeleḵ took sheep, and cattle, and male and female servants, and gave them to Avraham. And he returned Sarah his wife to him.
B’reisheet 20:15 And Aḇimeleḵ said, “See, my land is before you, dwell wherever it is good in your eyes.”
B’reisheet 20:16 And to Sarah he said, “See, I have given your brother a thousand pieces of silver. See, it is to you a covering of eyes before all who are with you and before all others, and you are cleared before everyone.”
B’reisheet 20:17 And Avraham prayed to Elohim, and Elohim healed Aḇimeleḵ, and his wife, and his female servants, so they bore children,
B’reisheet 20:18 for יהוה had closed up all the wombs of the house of Aḇimeleḵ because of Sarah, Avraham’s wife.
B’reisheet 21:1 And יהוה visited Sarah as He had said, and יהוה did for Sarah as He had spoken.
B’reisheet 21:2 So Sarah conceived and bore Avraham a son in his old age, at the appointed time of which Elohim had spoken to him.
B’reisheet 21:3 And Avraham called the name of his son who was born to him, whom Sarah bore to him, Yitz’chak.
B’reisheet 21:4 And Avraham circumcised his son Yitz’chak when he was eight days old, as Elohim had commanded him.
B’reisheet 21:5 And Avraham was one hundred years old when his son Yitz’chak was born to him.
B’reisheet 21:6 And Sarah said, “Elohim has made me laugh, and everyone who hears of it laughs with me.”
B’reisheet 21:7 And she said, “Who would have said to Avraham that Sarah would nurse children? For I have borne him a son in his old age.”
B’reisheet 21:8 And the child grew and was weaned, and Avraham made a great feast on the day that Yitz’chak was weaned.
B’reisheet 21:9 And Sarah saw the son of Haḡar the Mitsrite, whom she had borne to Avraham, mocking.
B’reisheet 21:10 So she said to Avraham, “Drive out this female servant and her son, for the son of this female servant shall not inherit with my son, with Yitz’chak.”
B’reisheet 21:11 And the matter was very evil in the eyes of Avraham because of his son.
B’reisheet 21:12 But Elohim said to Avraham, “Let it not be evil in your eyes because of the boy and because of your female servant. Whatever Sarah has said to you, listen to her voice, for in Yitz’chak your seed is called.
B’reisheet 21:13 “And of the son of the female servant I also make a nation, because he is your seed.”
B’reisheet 21:14 And Avraham rose early in the morning, and took bread and a skin of water, which he gave to Haḡar, putting it on her shoulder, also the boy, and sent her away. And she left and wandered in the Wilderness of Be’ĕrsheḇa.
B’reisheet 21:15 And the water in the skin was used up, and she placed the boy under one of the shrubs.
B’reisheet 21:16 And she went and sat down about a bowshot away, for she said, “Let me not see the death of the boy.” And she sat opposite him, and lifted her voice and wept.
B’reisheet 21:17 And Elohim heard the voice of the boy, and the messenger of Elohim called to Haḡar from the heavens, and said to her, “What is the matter with you, Haḡar? Do not fear, for Elohim has heard the voice of the boy where he is.
B’reisheet 21:18 “Arise, lift up the boy and hold him with your hand, for I make a great nation of him.”
B’reisheet 21:19 And Elohim opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. And she went and filled the skin with water, and gave the boy a drink.
B’reisheet 21:20 And Elohim was with the boy, and he grew and dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer.
B’reisheet 21:21 And he dwelt in the Wilderness of Paran, and his mother took a wife for him from the land of Mitsrayim.
B’reisheet 21:22 And it came to be at that time that Aḇimeleḵ and Piḵol, the commander of his army, spoke to Avraham, saying, “Elohim is with you in all that you do.
B’reisheet 21:23 “And now, swear to me by Elohim, not to be untrue to me, to my offspring, or to my descendants. Do to me according to the kindness that I have done to you and to the land in which you have dwelt.”
B’reisheet 21:24 And Avraham said, “I swear.”
B’reisheet 21:25 And Avraham reproved Aḇimeleḵ because of a well of water which Aḇimeleḵ’s servants had seized.
B’reisheet 21:26 And Aḇimeleḵ said, “I do not know who has done this deed. Neither did you inform me, nor did I hear until today.”
B’reisheet 21:27 So Avraham took sheep and cattle and gave them to Aḇimeleḵ, and the two of them made a covenant.
B’reisheet 21:28 And Avraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves.
B’reisheet 21:29 And Aḇimeleḵ asked Avraham, “What are these seven ewe lambs which you have set by themselves?”
B’reisheet 21:30 And he said, “Take these seven ewe lambs from my hand, to be my witness that I have dug this well.”
B’reisheet 21:31 So he called that place Be’ĕrsheḇa, because the two of them swore an oath there.
B’reisheet 21:32 Thus they made a covenant at Be’ĕrsheḇa. And Aḇimeleḵ rose with Piḵol, the commander of his army, and they returned to the land of the Philistines.
B’reisheet 21:33 And he planted a tamarisk tree in Be’ĕrsheḇa, and there called on the Name of יהוה, the Everlasting Ěl.
B’reisheet 21:34 And Avraham sojourned in the land of the Philistines many days.
B’reisheet 22:1 And it came to be after these events that Elohim tried Avraham, and said to him, “Avraham!” And he said, “Here I am.”
B’reisheet 22:2 And He said, “Take your son, now, your only son Yitz’chak, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriyah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I command you.”
B’reisheet 22:3 And Avraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Yitz’chak his son. And he split the wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place which Elohim had commanded him.
B’reisheet 22:4 And on the third day Avraham lifted his eyes and saw the place from a distance.
B’reisheet 22:5 So Avraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey while the boy and I go over there and worship, and come back to you.”
B’reisheet 22:6 And Avraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Yitz’chak his son. And he took the fire in his hand, and a knife, and the two of them went together.
B’reisheet 22:7 And Yitz’chak spoke to Avraham his father and said, “My father!” And he said, “Here I am, my son.” And he said, “See, the fire and the wood! But where is the lamb for a burnt offering?”
B’reisheet 22:8 And Avraham said, “My son, Elohim does provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering.” And the two of them went together.
B’reisheet 22:9 And they came to the place which Elohim had commanded him, and Avraham built an altar there and placed the wood in order. And he bound Yitz’chak his son and laid him on the altar, upon the wood.
B’reisheet 22:10 And Avraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son,
B’reisheet 22:11 but the Messenger of יהוה called to him from the heavens and said, “Avraham, Avraham!” And he said, “Here I am.”
B’reisheet 22:12 And He said, “Do not lay your hand on the boy, nor touch him. For now I know that you fear Elohim, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.”
B’reisheet 22:13 And Avraham lifted his eyes and looked and saw behind him a ram caught in a bush by its horns, and Avraham went and took the ram and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son.
B’reisheet 22:14 And Avraham called the name of the place, ‘יהוה Yireh,’ as it is said to this day, “On the mountain יהוה provides.”
B’reisheet 22:15 And the Messenger of יהוה called to Avraham a second time from the heavens,
B’reisheet 22:16 and said, “By Myself I have sworn, declares יהוה, because you have done this, and have not withheld your son, your only son,
B’reisheet 22:17 that I shall certainly bless you, and I shall certainly increase your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is on the seashore, and let your seed possess the gate of their enemies.
B’reisheet 22:18 “And in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”
B’reisheet 22:19 Then Avraham returned to his young men, and they rose up and went together to Be’ĕrsheḇa. And Avraham dwelt at Be’ĕrsheḇa.
B’reisheet 22:20 And it came to be after these events that it was reported to Avraham, saying, “See, Milkah too has borne children to your brother Naḥor:
B’reisheet 22:21 “Uts his first-born, and Buz his brother, and Qemu’ĕl the father of Aram,
B’reisheet 22:22 and Keseḏ, and Ḥazo, and Pildash, and Yiḏlaph, and Bethu’ĕl.”
B’reisheet 22:23 And Bethu’ĕl brought forth Riḇqah. These eight Milkah bore to Naḥor, Avraham’s brother.
B’reisheet 22:24 And his concubine, whose name was Re’uwmah, also bore Teḇaḥ, and Gaḥam, and Taḥash, and Maʽaḵah.
