Mat 21:1 ויהי כאשר קרבו לירושלים ויבאו בית־פגי אל־הר הזיתים וישלח ישוע שנים מן־התלמידים׃
Mat 21:2 ויאמר אליהם לכו אל־הכפר אשר ממולכם שם תמצאו אתון אסורה ועיר עמה התירו אתם והביאו אלי׃
Mat 21:3 וכי־יאמר איש אליכם דבר ואמרתם האדון צריך להם ומיד ישלחם׃
Mat 21:4 וכל־זאת היתה למלאת מה־שנאמר ביד הנביא לאמר׃
Mat 21:5 אמרו לבת־ציון הנה מלכך יבוא לך עני ורכב על־חמור ועל־עיר בן־אתנות׃
Mat 21:6 וילכו התלמידים ויעשו כאשר צוה אתם ישוע׃
Mat 21:7 ויביאו את־האתון ואת־העיר וישימו עליהם את־בגדיהם ויושיבהו עליהם׃
Mat 21:8 ורב ההמון פרשו את־בגדיהם על־הדרך ואחרים כרתו סעיפי עצים וישטחום על־הדרך׃
Mat 21:9 והמון העם ההלכים לפניו ואחריו קראו לאמר הושע־נא לבן־דוד ברוך הבא בשם יהוה הושע־נא במרומים׃
Mat 21:10 ויהי בבאו ירושלים ותהם כל־העיר ויאמרו מי זה׃
Mat 21:11 ויאמרו המן העם זה הוא הנביא ישוע מנצרת אשר בגליל׃
Mat 21:12 ויבא ישוע אל־מקדש האלהים ויגרש משם את כל־המוכרים והקונים במקדש ויהפך את־שלחנות השלחנים ואת־משבות מכרי היונים׃
Mat 21:13 ויאמר אליהם הן כתוב כי ביתי בית תפלה יקרא ואתם שמתם אתו למערת פריצים׃
Mat 21:14 ויגשו אליו עורים ופסחים במקדש וירפאם׃
Mat 21:15 ויהי כראות ראשי הכהנים והסופרים את הנפלאות אשר עשה ואת הילדים הצעקים במקדש ואמרים הושע־נא לבן־דוד ויחר להם׃
Mat 21:16 ויאמרו אליו השמע אתה את־אשר אמרים אלה ויאמר ישוע אליהם שמע אנכי הכי לא קראתם מפי עוללים ויונקים יסדת עז׃
Mat 21:17 ויעזבם ויצא אל־מחוץ לעיר אל־בית־היני וילן שם׃
Mat 21:18 ובבקר שב אל־העיר והוא רעב׃
Mat 21:19 וירא תאנה אחת על־הדרך ויקרב אליה ולא־מצא בה מאומה בלתי העלים ויאמר אליה מעתה לא־יהיה ממך פרי עד־עולם ותיבש התאנה פתאם׃
Mat 21:20 ויראו התלמידים ויתמהו ויאמרו איך יבשה התאנה פתאם׃
Mat 21:21 ויען ישוע ויאמר אליהם אמן אמר אני לכם אם־תהיה בכם אמונה ולא חלק לבכם כמעשה התאנה הזאת תעשו ואף תאמרו אל־ההר הזה הנשא ונעתקת אל־תוך הים והיה כן׃
Mat 21:22 וכל אשר תשאלו בתפלה ואתם מאמינים יבא לכם׃
Mat 21:23 ויבא אל־המקדש וילמד שם וראשי הכהנים וזקני העם נגשו אליו ויאמרו באי־זו רשות אתה עשה אלה ומי נתן לך הרשות הזאת׃
Mat 21:24 ויען ישוע ויאמר אליהם גם־אני אשאלה אתכם דבר אחד אשר אם־תגידו אתו לי גם־אני אגיד לכם באי־זו רשות אני עשה אלה׃
Mat 21:25 טבילת יוחנן מאין היתה המשמים אם־מבני אדם ויחשבו בלבבם לאמר׃
Mat 21:26 אם־נאמר משמים ואמר אלינו מדוע אפוא לא האמנתם בו ואם־נאמר מבני אדם יראים אנחנו את־המון העם כי־כלם חשבים את־יוחנן לנביא׃
Mat 21:27 ויענו את־ישוע ויאמרו לא ידענו ויאמר אליהם גם־אני לא אמר לכם מה רשותי כי אעשה אלה׃
Mat 21:28 אבל מה־דעתכם איש היה ולו שני בנים ויגש אל־הראשון ויאמר בני לך היום ועבד בכרמי׃
Mat 21:29 ויען ויאמר לא חפצתי ואחרי־כן נחם וילך׃
Mat 21:30 ויגש אל־השני וידבר כזאת גם־אליו ויען ויאמר הנני אדני ולא הלך׃
Mat 21:31 מי משניהם עשה את־רצון אביו ויאמרו אליו הראשון ויאמר להם ישוע אמן אמר אני לכם המוכסים והזונות יקדמו אתכם לבוא אל־מלכות האלהים׃
Mat 21:32 כי יוחנן בא אליכם בדרך צדקה ולא האמנתם לו והמוכסים והזונות הם האמינו לו ואתם ראיתם ולא נחמתם אחרי־כן להאמין לו׃
Mat 21:33 שמעו משל אחר איש בעל־בית היה אשר נטע כרם ויעש גדר סביב לו ויחצב יקב ויבן מגדל בתוכו ויתנהו אל־כרמים וילך בדרך מרחוק׃
Mat 21:34 ויהי בהגיע עת הבציר וישלח עבדיו אל־הכרמים לקחת את־פריו׃
Mat 21:35 ויחזיקו הכרמים בעבדיו את־זה הכו ואת־זה הרגו ואת־זה סקלו׃
Mat 21:36 ויוסף שלח עבדים אחרים רבים מן־הראשונים וגם־להם עשו כן׃
Mat 21:37 ובאחרונה שלח אליהם את־בנו כי אמר מפני בני יגורו׃
Mat 21:38 ויהי כראות הכרמים את־הבן ויאמרו איש אל־אחיו זה הוא היורש לכו ונהרגהו ונאחזה בנחלתו׃
Mat 21:39 ויחזיקו בו וידחפוהו אל־מחוץ לכרם ויהרגו אתו׃
Mat 21:40 ועתה כי־יבוא בעל הכרם מה־יעשה לכרמים ההם׃
Mat 21:41 ויאמרו אליו ירע לרעים ויאבדם ואת־הכרם יתן לכרמים אחרים אשר ישיבו לו את־פריו בעתו׃
Mat 21:42 ויאמר אליהם ישוע הכי לא־קראתם בכתובים אבן מאסו הבונים היתה לראש פנה מאת יהוה היתה זאת היא נפלאת בעינינו׃
Mat 21:43 על־כן אני אמר לכם כי־תקח מכם מלכות האלהים ותסב לגוי אשר יעשה את־פריה׃
Mat 21:44 (והנפל אל־האבן ההיא ישבר ואשר תפל עליו תשחקהו ׃)
Mat 21:45 ויהי כשמע ראשי הכהנים והפרושים את־משליו ויבינו כי עליהם דבר׃
Mat 21:46 ויבקשו לתפשו וייראו מפני רב־העם כי לנביא חשבהו׃
Mat 22:1 ויסף ישוע דבר אליהם במשלים ויען ויאמר׃
Mat 22:2 דומה מלכות השמים למלך בשר ודם אשר־עשה חתנה לבנו׃
Mat 22:3 וישלח את־עבדיו לקרא הקרואים אל־החתנה ולא אבו לבוא׃
Mat 22:4 ויסף שלח עבדים אחרים לאמר אמרו אל־הקרואים הנה ערכתי את־סעודתי שורי ומריאי טבוחים והכל מוכן באו אל־החתנה׃
Mat 22:5 והם לא־שתו לבם לזאת וילכו להם זה אל־שדהו וזה אל־מסחרו׃
Mat 22:6 והנשארים תפשו את־עבדיו ויתעללו בם ויהרגום׃
Mat 22:7 ויקצף המלך וישלח צבאותיו ויאבד את־המרצחים ההם ואת־עירם שרף באש׃
Mat 22:8 אז אמר אל־עבדיו הן החתנה מוכנה והקרואים לא היו ראוים לה׃
Mat 22:9 לכן לכו־נא לראשי הדרכים וכל־איש אשר תמצאו קראו אל־החתנה׃
Mat 22:10 ויצאו העבדים ההם אל־הדרכים ויאספו את־כל אשר מצאו גם־רעים גם־טובים וימלא בית־החתנה מסבים׃
Mat 22:11 ויהי כבוא המלך לראות את־המסבים וירא בהם איש אשר איננו לבוש בגדי חתנה׃
Mat 22:12 ויאמר אליו רעי איך באת הנה ואין עליך בגדי חתנה ויאלם׃
Mat 22:13 ויאמר המלך למשרתים אסרו ידיו ורגליו ונשאתם והשלכתם אותו אל־החשך החיצון שם תהיה היללה וחרק השנים׃
Mat 22:14 כי רבים הם הקרואים ומעטים הנבחרים׃
Mat 22:15 וילכו הפרושים ויתיעצו איך יכשילהו בדבר פיו׃
Mat 22:16 וישלחו אליו את־תלמידיהם ועמהם אנשי הורדוס לאמר רבי ידענו כי־איש אמת אתה ואת־דרך אלהים תורה באמת ולא תגור מפני איש כי אינך מכיר פני אדם׃
Mat 22:17 לכן הגידה־נא לנו מה־דעתך המתר לתת־מס לקיסר אם־לא׃
Mat 22:18 וישוע ידע את־רעתם ויאמר החנפים מה־תנסוני׃
Mat 22:19 הראוני את־מטבע המס ויביאו לו דינר׃
Mat 22:20 ויאמר אליהם הצורה הזאת והמכתב אשר עליו של־מי הם׃
Mat 22:21 ויאמרו אליו של־קיסר ויאמר אליהם לכן תנו לקיסר את אשר לקיסר ולאלהים את אשר לאלהים׃
Mat 22:22 וישמעו ויתמהו ויניחהו וילכו׃
Mat 22:23 ביום ההוא נגשו אליו צדוקים והם האמרים אין תחית המתים וישאלו אתו לאמר׃
Mat 22:24 רבי הן משה אמר איש כי־ימות ובנים אין־לו ויבם אחיו את־אשתו והקים זרע לאחיו׃
Mat 22:25 ואתנו היו שבעה אחים והראשון נשא אשה וימת וזרע אין לו ויעזב את־אשתו לאחיו׃
Mat 22:26 וכמו־כן גם השני וכן גם השלישי עד השבעה׃
Mat 22:27 ואחרי כלם מתה גם־האשה׃
Mat 22:28 ועתה בתחית המתים למי מן־השבעה תהיה לאשה כי לכלם היתה׃
Mat 22:29 ויען ישוע ויאמר להם טעים אתם באשר אינכם יודעים את־הכתובים ולא את־גבורת האלהים׃
Mat 22:30 כי בתחית המתים לא־ישאו נשים ולא תנשאנה כי יהיו כמלאכי אלהים בשמים׃
Mat 22:31 ועל־דבר תחית המתים הלא קראתם את־הנאמר לכם מפי האלהים לאמר׃
Mat 22:32 אנכי אלהי אברהם ואלהי יצחק ואלהי יעקב והוא איננו אלהי המתים כי אם־אלהי החיים׃
Mat 22:33 וישמע המון העם וישתוממו על־תורתו׃
Mat 22:34 והפרושים כשמעם כי סכר פי הצדוקים ויועדו יחדו׃
Mat 22:35 וישאלהו חכם אחד מהם לנסותו לאמר׃
Mat 22:36 רבי אי־זו היא מצוה גדולה בתורה׃
Mat 22:37 ויאמר ישוע אליו ואהבת את יהוה אלהיך בכל־לבבך ובכל־נפשך ובכל־מדעך׃
Mat 22:38 זאת היא המצוה הגדולה והראשונה׃
Mat 22:39 והשנית דומה לה ואהבת לרעך כמוך׃
Mat 22:40 בשתי המצות האלה תלויה כל־התורה והנביאים׃
Mat 22:41 ויהי בהקהל הפרושים וישאלם ישוע לאמר׃
Mat 22:42 מה־תאמרו למשיח בן־מי הוא ויאמרו אליו בן־דוד׃
Mat 22:43 ויאמר אליהם ואיך קרא־לו דוד ברוח אדון באמרו׃
Mat 22:44 נאם יהוה לאדני שב לימיני עד־אשית איביך הדם לרגליך׃
Mat 22:45 ועתה אם־דוד קרא לו אדון איך הוא בנו׃
Mat 22:46 ולא־יכל איש לענות אתו דבר ולא־ערב עוד איש את־לבו מן־היום ההוא לשאל אותו׃

Mat 21:1 And when they came near to Yerushalayim, and came to Bĕyth Phaḡi, at the Mount of Olives, then יהושע sent two talmidim,
Mat 21:2 saying to them, “Go into the village opposite you, and straightaway you shall find a donkey tied, and a colt with her, loosen them, and bring them to Me.
Mat 21:3 “And if anyone says whatever to you, you shall say, ‘The Master needs them,’ and immediately he shall send them.”
Mat 21:4 And all this took place that it might be filled what was spoken by the Navi, saying,
Mat 21:5 “Say to the daughter of Tsiyon, ‘See, your Melech is coming to you, meek, and sitting on a donkey, even a colt, the foal of a donkey.’ ”
Mat 21:6 And the talmidim went, and having done as יהושע ordered them,
Mat 21:7 they brought the donkey and the colt, and laid their garments on them, and He sat on them.
Mat 21:8 And most of the crowd spread their garments on the way, while others cut down branches from the trees and spread them on the way.
Mat 21:9 And the crowds who went before and those who followed cried out, saying, “Hoshia-na to the Son of Dawiḏ! Blessed is He who is coming in the Name of יהוה! Hoshia-na in the highest!”
Mat 21:10 And as He entered into Yerushalayim, all the city was stirred, saying, “Who is this?”
Mat 21:11 And the crowds said, “This is יהושע, the Navi from Natsareth of Galil.”
Mat 21:12 And יהושע went into the Kadosh Place of Elohim and drove out all those buying and selling in the Kadosh Place, and overturned the tables of the moneychangers and the seats of those who sold doves.
Mat 21:13 And He said to them, “It has been written, ‘My House shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of robbers.’ ”
Mat 21:14 And blind and lame ones came to Him in the Kadosh Place, and He healed them.
Mat 21:15 But when the chief Kohanim and scribes saw the wonders which He did, and the children crying out in the Kadosh Place and saying, “Hoshia-na to the Son of Dawiḏ!” they were greatly displeased,
Mat 21:16 and said to Him, “Do You hear what these say?” And יהושע said to them, “Yea, have you never read, ‘Out of the mouth of babes and nurslings You have perfected praise’?”
Mat 21:17 And having left them He went out of the city to Bĕyth Anyah, and spent the night there.
Mat 21:18 And returning to the city early in the morning, He became hungry.
Mat 21:19 And seeing a single fig tree by the way, He came to it and found naught on it but leaves, and said to it, “Let no fruit grow on you ever again.” And immediately the fig tree withered.
Mat 21:20 And the talmidim, seeing it, marveled, saying, “How did the fig tree wither so soon?”
Mat 21:21 And יהושע answering, said to them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have belief and do not doubt, you shall not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be thrown into the sea,’ it shall be done.
Mat 21:22 “And whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive.”
Mat 21:23 And when He had come into the Kadosh Place, the chief Kohanim and the elders of the people came to Him as He was teaching, and said, “By what authority are You doing these? And who gave You this authority?”
Mat 21:24 And יהושע answering, said to them, “I shall ask you one question too, which if you answer Me, I also shall say to you by what authority I do these:
Mat 21:25 “The immersion of Yochanan, where did it come from? From heaven or from men?” So they reasoned among themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ He shall say to us, ‘Then why did you not believe him?’
Mat 21:26 “But if we say, ‘From men,’ we fear the crowd, for all hold Yochanan as a Navi.”
Mat 21:27 And they answered יהושע and said, “We do not know.” And He said to them, “Neither do I say to you by what authority I do these.
Mat 21:28 “But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first and said, ‘Son, go, work today in my vineyard.’
Mat 21:29 “And he answering, said, ‘I do not wish to,’ but afterwards he repented and went.
Mat 21:30 “And having come to the second, he said similarly. And he answering, said, ‘I go, master,’ but he did not go.
Mat 21:31 “Which of the two did the desire of the father?” They said to Him, “The first.” יהושע said to them, “Truly, I say to you that tax collectors and whores are entering into the reign of Elohim before you,
Mat 21:32 for Yochanan came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but tax collectors and whores believed him. And when you saw it, you did not repent afterwards, to believe him.
Mat 21:33 “Hear another parable: There was a certain man, a householder who planted a vineyard and placed a hedge around it, and dug a winepress in it and built a watchtower. And he leased it to farmers and went abroad.
Mat 21:34 “And when the season of the fruits drew near, he sent his slaves to the farmers, to receive its fruit.
Mat 21:35 “And the farmers took his slaves and beat one, and they killed one, and they stoned another.
Mat 21:36 “Again he sent other slaves, more than the first, and they did likewise to them.
Mat 21:37 “And at last he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They shall respect my son.’
Mat 21:38 “But when the farmers saw the son, they said among themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, and let us possess his inheritance.’
Mat 21:39 “And they took him, and threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him.
Mat 21:40 “Therefore, when the master of the vineyard comes, what shall he do to those farmers?”
Mat 21:41 They said to Him, “Evil ones! He shall bring them to evil destruction, and lease the vineyard to other farmers who shall give to him the fruits in their seasons.”
Mat 21:42 יהושע said to them, “Did you never read in the Scriptures, ‘The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief corner-stone. This was from יהוה, and it is marvelous in our eyes’?
Mat 21:43 “Because of this I say to you: the reign of Elohim shall be taken from you and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits of it.
Mat 21:44 “And he who falls on this stone shall be broken,1 but on whomever it falls, he shall be pulverized.” Footnote:1Rom. 8:10 & 13, Col. 3:5.
Mat 21:45 And the chief Kohanim and Pharisees, having heard His parables, knew that He was speaking of them.
Mat 21:46 And seeking to lay hands on Him, they feared the crowds, seeing they held Him to be a Navi.
Mat 22:1 And יהושע responded and spoke to them again by parables and said,
Mat 22:2 “The reign of the heavens is like a man, a sovereign, who made a wedding feast for his son,
Mat 22:3 and sent out his slaves to call those who were invited to the wedding feast. But they would not come.
Mat 22:4 “Again he sent out other slaves, saying, ‘Say to those who are invited, “See, I have prepared my dinner. My oxen and fattened cattle are slaughtered, and all is ready. Come to the wedding feast.” ’
Mat 22:5 “But they disregarded it and went their way – this one to his field, that one to his trade.
Mat 22:6 “And the rest, having seized his slaves, insulted and killed them.
Mat 22:7 “But when the sovereign heard, he was wroth, and sent out his soldiers, destroyed those murderers, and set their city on fire.
Mat 22:8 “Then he said to his slaves, ‘The wedding feast, indeed, is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy.
Mat 22:9 ‘Therefore go into the street corners, and as many as you find, invite to the wedding feast.’
Mat 22:10 “And those slaves went out into the street corners and gathered all whom they found, both wicked and good. And the wedding hall was filled with guests.
Mat 22:11 “And when the sovereign came in to view the guests, he saw there a man who had not put on a wedding garment,
Mat 22:12 and he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here not having a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless.
Mat 22:13 “Then the sovereign said to the slaves, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and throw him out into the outer darkness – there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
Mat 22:14 “For many are called, but few are chosen.”1 Footnote:1See 20:16.
Mat 22:15 Then the Pharisees went and plotted how to trap Him in His words.
Mat 22:16 And they sent to Him their talmidim with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that You are true, and teach the way of Elohim in truth, and it does not concern You about anyone, for You are not partial to any man.
Mat 22:17 “Then say to us, what do You think? Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”
Mat 22:18 But knowing their wickedness, יהושע said, “Why do you try Me, you hypocrites?
Mat 22:19 “Show Me the coin of the tax.” And they brought Him a silver piece.
Mat 22:20 And He said to them, “Whose likeness and inscription is this?”
Mat 22:21 They said to Him, “Caesar’s.” And He said to them, “Then give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to Elohim what is Elohim’s.”
Mat 22:22 And having heard, they marveled, and left Him and went away.
Mat 22:23 On that day Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to Him and asked Him,
Mat 22:24 saying, “Teacher, Moshe said that if anyone should die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise offspring for his brother.
Mat 22:25 “And there were with us seven brothers, and the first died after he had married, and having no children, left his wife to his brother.
Mat 22:26 “In the same way the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.
Mat 22:27 “And last of all the woman died too.
Mat 22:28 “At the resurrection, then, whose wife of the seven shall she be – for all had her?”
Mat 22:29 And יהושע answering, said to them, “You go astray, not knowing the Scriptures1 nor the power of Elohim. Footnote: 1Mk. 12:24.
Mat 22:30 “For in the resurrection they do not marry, nor are they given in marriage, but are as messengers of Elohim in heaven.
Mat 22:31 “And concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by Elohim, saying,
Mat 22:32 ‘I am the Elohim of Avraham, and the Elohim of Yitzchak, and the Elohim of Ya`akov̱’? Elohim is not the Elohim of the dead, but of the living.”
Mat 22:33 And when the crowds heard, they were astonished at His teaching.
Mat 22:34 But the Pharisees, having heard that He had silenced the Sadducees, were gathered together,
Mat 22:35 and one of them, one learned in the Torah, did question, trying Him, and saying,
Mat 22:36 “Teacher, which is the great command in the Torah?”
Mat 22:37 And יהושע said to him, “ ‘You shall love יהוה your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your mind.’
Mat 22:38 “This is the first and great command.
Mat 22:39 “And the second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
Mat 22:40 “On these two commands hang all the Torah and the Nevi’im.”
Mat 22:41 And when the Pharisees were gathered together, יהושע asked them,
Mat 22:42 saying, “What do you think concerning HaMashiach? Whose Son is He?” They said to Him, “The Son of Dawiḏ.”
Mat 22:43 He said to them, “Then how does Dawiḏ in the Spirit call Him ‘Master,’ saying,
Mat 22:44 ‘יהוה said to my Master, “Sit at My right hand, until I make Your enemies a footstool of Your feet” ’?
Mat 22:45 “If then Dawiḏ calls Him ‘Master,’ how is He his Son?”
Mat 22:46 And no one was able to answer Him a word, and from that day on no one was bold enough to ask Him any more questions.

Mat 21:9 And the crowds who went before and those who followed cried out, saying, “Hoshia-na to the Son of Dawiḏ! Blessed is He who is coming in the Name of יהוה! Hoshia-na in the highest!”
Mat 21:10 And as He entered into Yerushalayim, all the city was stirred, saying, “Who is this?”
Mat 21:11 And the crowds said, “This is יהושע, the Navi from Natsareth of Galil.”
Mat 21:12 And יהושע went into the Kadosh Place of Elohim and drove out all those buying and selling in the Kadosh Place, and overturned the tables of the moneychangers and the seats of those who sold doves.
Mat 21:13 And He said to them, “It has been written, ‘My House shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of robbers.’ ”
Mat 21:14 And blind and lame ones came to Him in the Kadosh Place, and He healed them.
Mat 21:15 But when the chief Kohanim and scribes saw the wonders which He did, and the children crying out in the Kadosh Place and saying, “Hoshia-na to the Son of Dawiḏ!” they were greatly displeased,
Mat 21:16 and said to Him, “Do You hear what these say?” And יהושע said to them, “Yea, have you never read, ‘Out of the mouth of babes and nurslings You have perfected praise’?”
Mat 21:17 And having left them He went out of the city to Bĕyth Anyah, and spent the night there.
Mat 21:18 And returning to the city early in the morning, He became hungry.
Mat 21:19 And seeing a single fig tree by the way, He came to it and found naught on it but leaves, and said to it, “Let no fruit grow on you ever again.” And immediately the fig tree withered.
Mat 21:20 And the talmidim, seeing it, marveled, saying, “How did the fig tree wither so soon?”
Mat 21:21 And יהושע answering, said to them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have belief and do not doubt, you shall not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be thrown into the sea,’ it shall be done.
Mat 21:22 “And whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive.”
Mat 21:23 And when He had come into the Kadosh Place, the chief Kohanim and the elders of the people came to Him as He was teaching, and said, “By what authority are You doing these? And who gave You this authority?”
Mat 21:24 And יהושע answering, said to them, “I shall ask you one question too, which if you answer Me, I also shall say to you by what authority I do these:
Mat 21:25 “The immersion of Yochanan, where did it come from? From heaven or from men?” So they reasoned among themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ He shall say to us, ‘Then why did you not believe him?’
Mat 21:26 “But if we say, ‘From men,’ we fear the crowd, for all hold Yochanan as a Navi.”
Mat 21:27 And they answered יהושע and said, “We do not know.” And He said to them, “Neither do I say to you by what authority I do these.
Mat 21:28 “But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first and said, ‘Son, go, work today in my vineyard.’
Mat 21:29 “And he answering, said, ‘I do not wish to,’ but afterwards he repented and went.
Mat 21:30 “And having come to the second, he said similarly. And he answering, said, ‘I go, master,’ but he did not go.
Mat 21:31 “Which of the two did the desire of the father?” They said to Him, “The first.” יהושע said to them, “Truly, I say to you that tax collectors and whores are entering into the reign of Elohim before you,
Mat 21:32 for Yochanan came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but tax collectors and whores believed him. And when you saw it, you did not repent afterwards, to believe him.
Mat 21:33 “Hear another parable: There was a certain man, a householder who planted a vineyard and placed a hedge around it, and dug a winepress in it and built a watchtower. And he leased it to farmers and went abroad.
Mat 21:34 “And when the season of the fruits drew near, he sent his slaves to the farmers, to receive its fruit.
Mat 21:35 “And the farmers took his slaves and beat one, and they killed one, and they stoned another.
Mat 21:36 “Again he sent other slaves, more than the first, and they did likewise to them.
Mat 21:37 “And at last he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They shall respect my son.’
Mat 21:38 “But when the farmers saw the son, they said among themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, and let us possess his inheritance.’
Mat 21:39 “And they took him, and threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him.
Mat 21:40 “Therefore, when the master of the vineyard comes, what shall he do to those farmers?”
Mat 21:41 They said to Him, “Evil ones! He shall bring them to evil destruction, and lease the vineyard to other farmers who shall give to him the fruits in their seasons.”
Mat 21:42 יהושע said to them, “Did you never read in the Scriptures, ‘The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief corner-stone. This was from יהוה, and it is marvelous in our eyes’?
Mat 21:43 “Because of this I say to you: the reign of Elohim shall be taken from you and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits of it.
Mat 21:44 “And he who falls on this stone shall be broken,1 but on whomever it falls, he shall be pulverized.” Footnote:1Rom. 8:10 & 13, Col. 3:5.
Mat 21:45 And the chief Kohanim and Pharisees, having heard His parables, knew that He was speaking of them.
Mat 21:46 And seeking to lay hands on Him, they feared the crowds, seeing they held Him to be a Navi.
Mat 22:1 And יהושע responded and spoke to them again by parables and said,
Mat 22:2 “The reign of the heavens is like a man, a sovereign, who made a wedding feast for his son,
Mat 22:3 and sent out his slaves to call those who were invited to the wedding feast. But they would not come.
Mat 22:4 “Again he sent out other slaves, saying, ‘Say to those who are invited, “See, I have prepared my dinner. My oxen and fattened cattle are slaughtered, and all is ready. Come to the wedding feast.” ’
Mat 22:5 “But they disregarded it and went their way – this one to his field, that one to his trade.
Mat 22:6 “And the rest, having seized his slaves, insulted and killed them.
Mat 22:7 “But when the sovereign heard, he was wroth, and sent out his soldiers, destroyed those murderers, and set their city on fire.
Mat 22:8 “Then he said to his slaves, ‘The wedding feast, indeed, is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy.
Mat 22:9 ‘Therefore go into the street corners, and as many as you find, invite to the wedding feast.’
Mat 22:10 “And those slaves went out into the street corners and gathered all whom they found, both wicked and good. And the wedding hall was filled with guests.
Mat 22:11 “And when the sovereign came in to view the guests, he saw there a man who had not put on a wedding garment,
Mat 22:12 and he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here not having a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless.
Mat 22:13 “Then the sovereign said to the slaves, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and throw him out into the outer darkness – there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

Mat 22:15 Then the Pharisees went and plotted how to trap Him in His words.
Mat 22:16 And they sent to Him their talmidim with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that You are true, and teach the way of Elohim in truth, and it does not concern You about anyone, for You are not partial to any man.
Mat 22:17 “Then say to us, what do You think? Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”
Mat 22:18 But knowing their wickedness, יהושע said, “Why do you try Me, you hypocrites?
Mat 22:19 “Show Me the coin of the tax.” And they brought Him a silver piece.
Mat 22:20 And He said to them, “Whose likeness and inscription is this?”
Mat 22:21 They said to Him, “Caesar’s.” And He said to them, “Then give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to Elohim what is Elohim’s.”
Mat 22:22 And having heard, they marveled, and left Him and went away.
Mat 22:23 On that day Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to Him and asked Him,
Mat 22:24 saying, “Teacher, Moshe said that if anyone should die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise offspring for his brother.
Mat 22:25 “And there were with us seven brothers, and the first died after he had married, and having no children, left his wife to his brother.
Mat 22:26 “In the same way the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.
Mat 22:27 “And last of all the woman died too.
Mat 22:28 “At the resurrection, then, whose wife of the seven shall she be – for all had her?”
Mat 22:29 And יהושע answering, said to them, “You go astray, not knowing the Scriptures1 nor the power of Elohim. Footnote: 1Mk. 12:24.
Mat 22:30 “For in the resurrection they do not marry, nor are they given in marriage, but are as messengers of Elohim in heaven.
Mat 22:31 “And concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by Elohim, saying,
Mat 22:32 ‘I am the Elohim of Avraham, and the Elohim of Yitzchak, and the Elohim of Ya`akov̱’? Elohim is not the Elohim of the dead, but of the living.”
Mat 22:33 And when the crowds heard, they were astonished at His teaching.
Mat 22:34 But the Pharisees, having heard that He had silenced the Sadducees, were gathered together,
Mat 22:35 and one of them, one learned in the Torah, did question, trying Him, and saying,
Mat 22:36 “Teacher, which is the great command in the Torah?”
Mat 22:37 And יהושע said to him, “ ‘You shall love יהוה your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your mind.’
Mat 22:38 “This is the first and great command.
Mat 22:39 “And the second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
Mat 22:40 “On these two commands hang all the Torah and the Nevi’im.”
Mat 22:41 And when the Pharisees were gathered together, יהושע asked them,
Mat 22:42 saying, “What do you think concerning HaMashiach? Whose Son is He?” They said to Him, “The Son of Dawiḏ.”
Mat 22:43 He said to them, “Then how does Dawiḏ in the Spirit call Him ‘Master,’ saying,
Mat 22:44 ‘יהוה said to my Master, “Sit at My right hand, until I make Your enemies a footstool of Your feet” ’?
Mat 22:45 “If then Dawiḏ calls Him ‘Master,’ how is He his Son?”
Mat 22:46 And no one was able to answer Him a word, and from that day on no one was bold enough to ask Him any more questions.

Melachim Alef 3:17 And one woman said, “O my Master, this woman and I dwell in the same house. And I gave birth while she was in the house.
Melachim Alef 3:18 “And it came to be, the third day after I had given birth, that this woman also gave birth. And we were together. There was no one else with us in the house, only the two of us in the house.
Melachim Alef 3:19 “Then this woman’s son died in the night, because she lay on him.
Melachim Alef 3:20 “And she rose up in the middle of the night and took my son from my side, while your female slave slept, and laid him in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom.

Melachim Alef 3:28 And all Yisra’ĕl heard of the right- ruling which the Melech had rendered. And they feared the Melech, for they saw that the wisdom of Elohim was in him to do right-ruling.

Zek 3:1 And he showed me Yehoshua the Kohen Gadol standing before the messenger of יהוה, and Satan standing at his right hand to be an adversary to him.
Zek 3:2 And יהוה said to Satan, “יהוה rebuke you, Satan! יהוה who has chosen Yerushalayim rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?”
Zek 3:3 And Yehoshua was dressed in filthy garments, and was standing before the messenger.
Zek 3:4 And He answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, “Remove the filthy garments from him.” And to him He said, “See, I have removed your guilt from you, and shall put costly robes on you.”
Zek 3:5 And I said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.” Then they put a clean turban on his head, and they put garments on him. And the messenger of יהוה stood by.
Zek 3:6 And the messenger of יהוה witnessed to Yehoshua, saying,
Zek 3:7 “Thus said יהוה of hosts, ‘If you walk in My ways, and if you guard My duty, then you shall also rule My beit, and also guard My courts. And I shall give you access among these standing here.
Zek 3:8 ‘Now listen, Yehoshua the Kohen Gadol, you and your companions who sit before you, for they are men of symbol. For look, I am bringing forth My Servant – the Branch
Zek 3:9 ‘See the stone which I have put before Yehoshua: on one stone are seven eyes. See, I am engraving its inscription,’ declares יהוה of hosts, ‘and I shall remove the guilt of that land in one day.
Zek 3:10 ‘In that day,’ declares יהוה of hosts, ‘you shall invite one another, under the vine and under the fig tree.’ ”

Zek 4:2 And he said to me, “What do you see?” So I said, “I have looked, and see: a lampstand all of gold with a bowl on top of it, and on the stand seven lamps with seven spouts to the seven lamps.

Zek 4:4 Then I responded and spoke to the messenger who was speaking to me, saying, “What are these, my Master?”

B’reisheet 41:1 ויהי מקץ שׁנתים ימים ופרעה חלם והנה עמד על־היאר׃
B’reisheet 41:2 והנה מן־היאר עלת שׁבע פרות יפות מראה ובריאת בשׂר ותרעינה באחו׃
B’reisheet 41:3 והנה שׁבע פרות אחרות עלות אחריהן מן־היאר רעות מראה ודקות בשׂר ותעמדנה אצל הפרות על־שׂפת היאר׃
B’reisheet 41:4 ותאכלנה הפרות רעות המראה ודקת הבשׂר את שׁבע הפרות יפת המראה והבריאת וייקץ פרעה׃
B’reisheet 41:5 ויישׁן ויחלם שׁנית והנה שׁבע שׁבלים עלות בקנה אחד בריאות וטבות׃
B’reisheet 41:6 והנה שׁבע שׁבלים דקות ושׁדופת קדים צמחות אחריהן׃
B’reisheet 41:7 ותבלענה השׁבלים הדקות את שׁבע השׁבלים הבריאות והמלאות וייקץ פרעה והנה חלום׃
B’reisheet 41:8 ויהי בבקר ותפעם רוחו וישׁלח ויקרא את־כל־חרטמי מצרים ואת־כל־חכמיה ויספר פרעה להם את־חלמו ואין־פותר אותם לפרעה׃
B’reisheet 41:9 וידבר שׂר המשׁקים את־פרעה לאמר את־חטאי אני מזכיר היום׃
B’reisheet 41:10 פרעה קצף על־עבדיו ויתן אתי במשׁמר בית שׂר הטבחים אתי ואת שׂר האפים׃
B’reisheet 41:11 ונחלמה חלום בלילה אחד אני והוא אישׁ כפתרון חלמו חלמנו׃
B’reisheet 41:12 ושׁם אתנו נער עברי עבד לשׂר הטבחים ונספר־לו ויפתר־לנו את־חלמתינו אישׁ כחלמו פתר׃
B’reisheet 41:13 ויהי כאשׁר פתר־לנו כן היה אתי השׁיב על־כני ואתו תלה׃
B’reisheet 41:14 וישׁלח פרעה ויקרא את־יוסף ויריצהו מן־הבור ויגלח ויחלף שׂמלתיו ויבא אל־פרעה׃
B’reisheet 41:15 ויאמר פרעה אל־יוסף חלום חלמתי ופתר אין אתו ואני שׁמעתי עליך לאמר תשׁמע חלום לפתר אתו׃
B’reisheet 41:16 ויען יוסף את־פרעה לאמר בלעדי אלהים יענה את־שׁלום פרעה׃
B’reisheet 41:17 וידבר פרעה אל־יוסף בחלמי הנני עמד על־שׂפת היאר׃
B’reisheet 41:18 והנה מן־היאר עלת שׁבע פרות בריאות בשׂר ויפת תאר ותרעינה באחו׃
B’reisheet 41:19 והנה שׁבע־פרות אחרות עלות אחריהן דלות ורעות תאר מאד ורקות בשׂר לא־ראיתי כהנה בכל־ארץ מצרים לרע׃
B’reisheet 41:20 ותאכלנה הפרות הרקות והרעות את שׁבע הפרות הראשׁנות הבריאת׃
B’reisheet 41:21 ותבאנה אל־קרבנה ולא נודע כי־באו אל־קרבנה ומראיהן רע כאשׁר בתחלה ואיקץ׃
B’reisheet 41:22 וארא בחלמי והנה שׁבע שׁבלים עלת בקנה אחד מלאת וטבות׃
B’reisheet 41:23 והנה שׁבע שׁבלים צנמות דקות שׁדפות קדים צמחות אחריהם׃
B’reisheet 41:24 ותבלען השׁבלים הדקת את שׁבע השׁבלים הטבות ואמר אל־החרטמים ואין מגיד לי׃
B’reisheet 41:25 ויאמר יוסף אל־פרעה חלום פרעה אחד הוא את אשׁר האלהים עשׂה הגיד לפרעה׃
B’reisheet 41:26 שׁבע פרת הטבת שׁבע שׁנים הנה ושׁבע השׁבלים הטבת שׁבע שׁנים הנה חלום אחד הוא׃
B’reisheet 41:27 ושׁבע הפרות הרקות והרעת העלת אחריהן שׁבע שׁנים הנה ושׁבע השׁבלים הרקות שׁדפות הקדים יהיו שׁבע שׁני רעב׃
B’reisheet 41:28 הוא הדבר אשׁר דברתי אל־פרעה אשׁר האלהים עשׂה הראה את־פרעה׃
B’reisheet 41:29 הנה שׁבע שׁנים באות שׂבע גדול בכל־ארץ מצרים׃
B’reisheet 41:30 וקמו שׁבע שׁני רעב אחריהן ונשׁכח כל־השׂבע בארץ מצרים וכלה הרעב את־הארץ׃
B’reisheet 41:31 ולא־יודע השׂבע בארץ מפני הרעב ההוא אחרי־כן כי־כבד הוא מאד׃
B’reisheet 41:32 ועל השׁנות החלום אל־פרעה פעמים כי־נכון הדבר מעם האלהים וממהר האלהים לעשׂתו׃
B’reisheet 41:33 ועתה ירא פרעה אישׁ נבון וחכם וישׁיתהו על־ארץ מצרים׃
B’reisheet 41:34 יעשׂה פרעה ויפקד פקדים על־הארץ וחמשׁ את־ארץ מצרים בשׁבע שׁני השׂבע׃
B’reisheet 41:35 ויקבצו את־כל־אכל השׁנים הטבות הבאת האלה ויצברו־בר תחת יד־פרעה אכל בערים ושׁמרו׃
B’reisheet 41:36 והיה האכל לפקדון לארץ לשׁבע שׁני הרעב אשׁר תהיין בארץ מצרים ולא־תכרת הארץ ברעב׃
B’reisheet 41:37 וייטב הדבר בעיני פרעה ובעיני כל־עבדיו׃
B’reisheet 41:38 ויאמר פרעה אל־עבדיו הנמצא כזה אישׁ אשׁר רוח אלהים בו׃
B’reisheet 41:39 ויאמר פרעה אל־יוסף אחרי הודיע אלהים אותך את־כל־זאת אין־נבון וחכם כמוך׃
B’reisheet 41:40 אתה תהיה על־ביתי ועל־פיך ישׁק כל־עמי רק הכסא אגדל ממך׃
B’reisheet 41:41 ויאמר פרעה אל־יוסף ראה נתתי אתך על כל־ארץ מצרים׃
B’reisheet 41:42 ויסר פרעה את־טבעתו מעל ידו ויתן אתה על־יד יוסף וילבשׁ אתו בגדי־שׁשׁ וישׂם רבד הזהב על־צוארו׃
B’reisheet 41:43 וירכב אתו במרכבת המשׁנה אשׁר־לו ויקראו לפניו אברך ונתון אתו על כל־ארץ מצרים׃
B’reisheet 41:44 ויאמר פרעה אל־יוסף אני פרעה ובלעדיך לא־ירים אישׁ את־ידו ואת־רגלו בכל־ארץ מצרים׃
B’reisheet 41:45 ויקרא פרעה שׁם־יוסף צפנת פענח ויתן־לו את־אסנת בת־פוטי פרע כהן אן לאשׁה ויצא יוסף על־ארץ מצרים׃
B’reisheet 41:46 ויוסף בן־שׁלשׁים שׁנה בעמדו לפני פרעה מלך־מצרים ויצא יוסף מלפני פרעה ויעבר בכל־ארץ מצרים׃
B’reisheet 41:47 ותעשׂ הארץ בשׁבע שׁני השׂבע לקמצים׃
B’reisheet 41:48 ויקבץ את־כל־אכל שׁבע שׁנים אשׁר היו בארץ מצרים ויתן־אכל בערים אכל שׂדה־העיר אשׁר סביבתיה נתן בתוכה׃
B’reisheet 41:49 ויצבר יוסף בר כחול הים הרבה מאד עד כי־חדל לספר כי־אין מספר׃
B’reisheet 41:50 וליוסף ילד שׁני בנים בטרם תבוא שׁנת הרעב אשׁר ילדה־לו אסנת בת־פוטי פרע כהן און׃
B’reisheet 41:51 ויקרא יוסף את־שׁם הבכור מנשׁה כי־נשׁני אלהים את־כל־עמלי ואת כל־בית אבי׃
B’reisheet 41:52 ואת שׁם השׁני קרא אפרים כי־הפרני אלהים בארץ עניי׃
B’reisheet 41:53 ותכלינה שׁבע שׁני השׂבע אשׁר היה בארץ מצרים׃
B’reisheet 41:54 ותחלינה שׁבע שׁני הרעב לבוא כאשׁר אמר יוסף ויהי רעב בכל־הארצות ובכל־ארץ מצרים היה לחם׃
B’reisheet 41:55 ותרעב כל־ארץ מצרים ויצעק העם אל־פרעה ללחם ויאמר פרעה לכל־מצרים לכו אל־יוסף אשׁר־יאמר לכם תעשׂו׃
B’reisheet 41:56 והרעב היה על כל־פני הארץ ויפתח יוסף את־כל־אשׁר בהם וישׁבר למצרים ויחזק הרעב בארץ מצרים׃
B’reisheet 41:57 וכל־הארץ באו מצרימה לשׁבר אל־יוסף כי־חזק הרעב בכל־הארץ׃
B’reisheet 42:1 וירא יעקב כי ישׁ־שׁבר במצרים ויאמר יעקב לבניו למה תתראו׃
B’reisheet 42:2 ויאמר הנה שׁמעתי כי ישׁ־שׁבר במצרים רדו־שׁמה ושׁברו־לנו משׁם ונחיה ולא נמות׃
B’reisheet 42:3 וירדו אחי־יוסף עשׂרה לשׁבר בר ממצרים׃
B’reisheet 42:4 ואת־בנימין אחי יוסף לא־שׁלח יעקב את־אחיו כי אמר פן־יקראנו אסון׃
B’reisheet 42:5 ויבאו בני ישׂראל לשׁבר בתוך הבאים כי־היה הרעב בארץ כנען׃
B’reisheet 42:6 ויוסף הוא השׁליט על־הארץ הוא המשׁביר לכל־עם הארץ ויבאו אחי יוסף וישׁתחוו־לו אפים ארצה׃
B’reisheet 42:7 וירא יוסף את־אחיו ויכרם ויתנכר אליהם וידבר אתם קשׁות ויאמר אלהם מאין באתם ויאמרו מארץ כנען לשׁבר־אכל׃
B’reisheet 42:8 ויכר יוסף את־אחיו והם לא הכרהו׃
B’reisheet 42:9 ויזכר יוסף את החלמות אשׁר חלם להם ויאמר אלהם מרגלים אתם לראות את־ערות הארץ באתם׃
B’reisheet 42:10 ויאמרו אליו לא אדני ועבדיך באו לשׁבר־אכל׃
B’reisheet 42:11 כלנו בני אישׁ־אחד נחנו כנים אנחנו לא־היו עבדיך מרגלים׃
B’reisheet 42:12 ויאמר אלהם לא כי־ערות הארץ באתם לראות׃
B’reisheet 42:13 ויאמרו שׁנים עשׂר עבדיך אחים אנחנו בני אישׁ־אחד בארץ כנען והנה הקטן את־אבינו היום והאחד איננו׃
B’reisheet 42:14 ויאמר אלהם יוסף הוא אשׁר דברתי אלכם לאמר מרגלים אתם׃
B’reisheet 42:15 בזאת תבחנו חי פרעה אם־תצאו מזה כי אם־בבוא אחיכם הקטן הנה׃
B’reisheet 42:16 שׁלחו מכם אחד ויקח את־אחיכם ואתם האסרו ויבחנו דבריכם האמת אתכם ואם־לא חי פרעה כי מרגלים אתם׃
B’reisheet 42:17 ויאסף אתם אל־משׁמר שׁלשׁת ימים׃
B’reisheet 42:18 ויאמר אלהם יוסף ביום השׁלישׁי זאת עשׂו וחיו את־האלהים אני ירא׃
B’reisheet 42:19 אם־כנים אתם אחיכם אחד יאסר בבית משׁמרכם ואתם לכו הביאו שׁבר רעבון בתיכם׃
B’reisheet 42:20 ואת־אחיכם הקטן תביאו אלי ויאמנו דבריכם ולא תמותו ויעשׂו־כן׃
B’reisheet 42:21 ויאמרו אישׁ אל־אחיו אבל אשׁמים אנחנו על־אחינו אשׁר ראינו צרת נפשׁו בהתחננו אלינו ולא שׁמענו על־כן באה אלינו הצרה הזאת׃
B’reisheet 42:22 ויען ראובן אתם לאמר הלוא אמרתי אליכם לאמר אל־תחטאו בילד ולא שׁמעתם וגם־דמו הנה נדרשׁ׃
B’reisheet 42:23 והם לא ידעו כי שׁמע יוסף כי המליץ בינתם׃
B’reisheet 42:24 ויסב מעליהם ויבך וישׁב אלהם וידבר אלהם ויקח מאתם את־שׁמעון ויאסר אתו לעיניהם׃
B’reisheet 42:25 ויצו יוסף וימלאו את־כליהם בר ולהשׁיב כספיהם אישׁ אל־שׂקו ולתת להם צדה לדרך ויעשׂ להם כן׃
B’reisheet 42:26 וישׂאו את־שׁברם על־חמריהם וילכו משׁם׃
B’reisheet 42:27 ויפתח האחד את־שׂקו לתת מספוא לחמרו במלון וירא את־כספו והנה־הוא בפי אמתחתו׃
B’reisheet 42:28 ויאמר אל־אחיו הושׁב כספי וגם הנה באמתחתי ויצא לבם ויחרדו אישׁ אל־אחיו לאמר מה־זאת עשׂה אלהים לנו׃
B’reisheet 42:29 ויבאו אל־יעקב אביהם ארצה כנען ויגידו לו את כל־הקרת אתם לאמר׃
B’reisheet 42:30 דבר האישׁ אדני הארץ אתנו קשׁות ויתן אתנו כמרגלים את־הארץ׃
B’reisheet 42:31 ונאמר אליו כנים אנחנו לא היינו מרגלים׃
B’reisheet 42:32 שׁנים־עשׂר אנחנו אחים בני אבינו האחד איננו והקטן היום את־אבינו בארץ כנען׃
B’reisheet 42:33 ויאמר אלינו האישׁ אדני הארץ בזאת אדע כי כנים אתם אחיכם האחד הניחו אתי ואת־רעבון בתיכם קחו ולכו׃
B’reisheet 42:34 והביאו את־אחיכם הקטן אלי ואדעה כי לא מרגלים אתם כי כנים אתם את־אחיכם אתן לכם ואת־הארץ תסחרו׃
B’reisheet 42:35 ויהי הם מריקים שׂקיהם והנה־אישׁ צרור־כספו בשׂקו ויראו את־צררות כספיהם המה ואביהם וייראו׃
B’reisheet 42:36 ויאמר אלהם יעקב אביהם אתי שׁכלתם יוסף איננו ושׁמעון איננו ואת־בנימן תקחו עלי היו כלנה׃
B’reisheet 42:37 ויאמר ראובן אל־אביו לאמר את־שׁני בני תמית אם־לא אביאנו אליך תנה אתו על־ידי ואני אשׁיבנו אליך׃
B’reisheet 42:38 ויאמר לא־ירד בני עמכם כי־אחיו מת והוא לבדו נשׁאר וקראהו אסון בדרך אשׁר תלכו־בה והורדתם את־שׂיבתי ביגון שׁאולה׃
B’reisheet 43:1 והרעב כבד בארץ׃
B’reisheet 43:2 ויהי כאשׁר כלו לאכל את־השׁבר אשׁר הביאו ממצרים ויאמר אליהם אביהם שׁבו שׁברו־לנו מעט־אכל׃
B’reisheet 43:3 ויאמר אליו יהודה לאמר העד העד בנו האישׁ לאמר לא־תראו פני בלתי אחיכם אתכם׃
B’reisheet 43:4 אם־ישׁך משׁלח את־אחינו אתנו נרדה ונשׁברה לך אכל׃
B’reisheet 43:5 ואם־אינך משׁלח לא נרד כי־האישׁ אמר אלינו לא־תראו פני בלתי אחיכם אתכם׃
B’reisheet 43:6 ויאמר ישׂראל למה הרעתם לי להגיד לאישׁ העוד לכם אח׃
B’reisheet 43:7 ויאמרו שׁאול שׁאל־האישׁ לנו ולמולדתנו לאמר העוד אביכם חי הישׁ לכם אח ונגד־לו על־פי הדברים האלה הידוע נדע כי יאמר הורידו את־אחיכם׃
B’reisheet 43:8 ויאמר יהודה אל־ישׂראל אביו שׁלחה הנער אתי ונקומה ונלכה ונחיה ולא נמות גם־אנחנו גם־אתה גם־טפנו׃
B’reisheet 43:9 אנכי אערבנו מידי תבקשׁנו אם־לא הביאתיו אליך והצגתיו לפניך וחטאתי לך כל־הימים׃
B’reisheet 43:10 כי לולא התמהמהנו כי־עתה שׁבנו זה פעמים׃
B’reisheet 43:11 ויאמר אלהם ישׂראל אביהם אם־כן אפוא זאת עשׂו קחו מזמרת הארץ בכליכם והורידו לאישׁ מנחה מעט צרי ומעט דבשׁ נכאת ולט בטנים ושׁקדים׃
B’reisheet 43:12 וכסף משׁנה קחו בידכם ואת־הכסף המושׁב בפי אמתחתיכם תשׁיבו בידכם אולי משׁגה הוא׃
B’reisheet 43:13 ואת־אחיכם קחו וקומו שׁובו אל־האישׁ׃
B’reisheet 43:14 ואל שׁדי יתן לכם רחמים לפני האישׁ ושׁלח לכם את־אחיכם אחר ואת־בנימין ואני כאשׁר שׁכלתי שׁכלתי׃
B’reisheet 43:15 ויקחו האנשׁים את־המנחה הזאת ומשׁנה־כסף לקחו בידם ואת־בנימן ויקמו וירדו מצרים ויעמדו לפני יוסף׃
B’reisheet 43:16 וירא יוסף אתם את־בנימין ויאמר לאשׁר על־ביתו הבא את־האנשׁים הביתה וטבח טבח והכן כי אתי יאכלו האנשׁים בצהרים׃
B’reisheet 43:17 ויעשׂ האישׁ כאשׁר אמר יוסף ויבא האישׁ את־האנשׁים ביתה יוסף׃
B’reisheet 43:18 וייראו האנשׁים כי הובאו בית יוסף ויאמרו על־דבר הכסף השׁב באמתחתינו בתחלה אנחנו מובאים להתגלל עלינו ולהתנפל עלינו ולקחת אתנו לעבדים ואת־חמרינו׃
B’reisheet 43:19 ויגשׁו אל־האישׁ אשׁר על־בית יוסף וידברו אליו פתח הבית׃
B’reisheet 43:20 ויאמרו בי אדני ירד ירדנו בתחלה לשׁבר־אכל׃
B’reisheet 43:21 ויהי כי־באנו אל־המלון ונפתחה את־אמתחתינו והנה כסף־אישׁ בפי אמתחתו כספנו במשׁקלו ונשׁב אתו בידנו׃
B’reisheet 43:22 וכסף אחר הורדנו בידנו לשׁבר־אכל לא ידענו מי־שׂם כספנו באמתחתינו׃
B’reisheet 43:23 ויאמר שׁלום לכם אל־תיראו אלהיכם ואלהי אביכם נתן לכם מטמון באמתחתיכם כספכם בא אלי ויוצא אלהם את־שׁמעון׃
B’reisheet 43:24 ויבא האישׁ את־האנשׁים ביתה יוסף ויתן־מים וירחצו רגליהם ויתן מספוא לחמריהם׃
B’reisheet 43:25 ויכינו את־המנחה עד־בוא יוסף בצהרים כי שׁמעו כי־שׁם יאכלו לחם׃
B’reisheet 43:26 ויבא יוסף הביתה ויביאו לו את־המנחה אשׁר־בידם הביתה וישׁתחוו־לו ארצה׃
B’reisheet 43:27 וישׁאל להם לשׁלום ויאמר השׁלום אביכם הזקן אשׁר אמרתם העודנו חי׃
B’reisheet 43:28 ויאמרו שׁלום לעבדך לאבינו עודנו חי ויקדו וישׁתחו׃
B’reisheet 43:29 וישׂא עיניו וירא את־בנימין אחיו בן־אמו ויאמר הזה אחיכם הקטן אשׁר אמרתם אלי ויאמר אלהים יחנך בני׃
B’reisheet 43:30 וימהר יוסף כי־נכמרו רחמיו אל־אחיו ויבקשׁ לבכות ויבא החדרה ויבך שׁמה׃
B’reisheet 43:31 וירחץ פניו ויצא ויתאפק ויאמר שׂימו לחם׃
B’reisheet 43:32 וישׂימו לו לבדו ולהם לבדם ולמצרים האכלים אתו לבדם כי לא יוכלון המצרים לאכל את־העברים לחם כי־תועבה הוא למצרים׃
B’reisheet 43:33 וישׁבו לפניו הבכר כבכרתו והצעיר כצערתו ויתמהו האנשׁים אישׁ אל־רעהו׃
B’reisheet 43:34 וישׂא משׂאת מאת פניו אלהם ותרב משׂאת בנימן ממשׂאת כלם חמשׁ ידות וישׁתו וישׁכרו עמו׃
B’reisheet 44:1 ויצו את־אשׁר על־ביתו לאמר מלא את־אמתחת האנשׁים אכל כאשׁר יוכלון שׂאת ושׂים כסף־אישׁ בפי אמתחתו׃
B’reisheet 44:2 ואת־גביעי גביע הכסף תשׂים בפי אמתחת הקטן ואת כסף שׁברו ויעשׂ כדבר יוסף אשׁר דבר׃
B’reisheet 44:3 הבקר אור והאנשׁים שׁלחו המה וחמריהם׃
B’reisheet 44:4 הם יצאו את־העיר לא הרחיקו ויוסף אמר לאשׁר על־ביתו קום רדף אחרי האנשׁים והשׂגתם ואמרת אלהם למה שׁלמתם רעה תחת טובה׃
B’reisheet 44:5 הלוא זה אשׁר ישׁתה אדני בו והוא נחשׁ ינחשׁ בו הרעתם אשׁר עשׂיתם׃
B’reisheet 44:6 וישׂגם וידבר אלהם את־הדברים האלה׃
B’reisheet 44:7 ויאמרו אליו למה ידבר אדני כדברים האלה חלילה לעבדיך מעשׂות כדבר הזה׃
B’reisheet 44:8 הן כסף אשׁר מצאנו בפי אמתחתינו השׁיבנו אליך מארץ כנען ואיך נגנב מבית אדניך כסף או זהב׃
B’reisheet 44:9 אשׁר ימצא אתו מעבדיך ומת וגם־אנחנו נהיה לאדני לעבדים׃
B’reisheet 44:10 ויאמר גם־עתה כדבריכם כן־הוא אשׁר ימצא אתו יהיה־לי עבד ואתם תהיו נקים׃
B’reisheet 44:11 וימהרו ויורדו אישׁ את־אמתחתו ארצה ויפתחו אישׁ אמתחתו׃
B’reisheet 44:12 ויחפשׂ בגדול החל ובקטן כלה וימצא הגביע באמתחת בנימן׃
B’reisheet 44:13 ויקרעו שׂמלתם ויעמס אישׁ על־חמרו וישׁבו העירה׃
B’reisheet 44:14 ויבא יהודה ואחיו ביתה יוסף והוא עודנו שׁם ויפלו לפניו ארצה׃
B’reisheet 44:15 ויאמר להם יוסף מה־המעשׂה הזה אשׁר עשׂיתם הלוא ידעתם כי־נחשׁ ינחשׁ אישׁ אשׁר כמני׃
B’reisheet 44:16 ויאמר יהודה מה־נאמר לאדני מה־נדבר ומה־נצטדק האלהים מצא את־עון עבדיך הננו עבדים לאדני גם־אנחנו גם אשׁר־נמצא הגביע בידו׃
B’reisheet 44:17 ויאמר חלילה לי מעשׂות זאת האישׁ אשׁר נמצא הגביע בידו הוא יהיה־לי עבד ואתם עלו לשׁלום אל־אביכם׃

B’reisheet 41:2 והנה מן־היאר עלת שׁבע פרות יפות מראה ובריאת בשׂר ותרעינה באחו׃
B’reisheet 41:3 והנה שׁבע פרות אחרות עלות אחריהן מן־היאר רעות מראה ודקות בשׂר ותעמדנה אצל הפרות על־שׂפת היאר׃
B’reisheet 41:4 ותאכלנה הפרות רעות המראה ודקת הבשׂר את שׁבע הפרות יפת המראה והבריאת וייקץ פרעה׃
B’reisheet 41:5 ויישׁן ויחלם שׁנית והנה שׁבע שׁבלים עלות בקנה אחד בריאות וטבות׃
B’reisheet 41:6 והנה שׁבע שׁבלים דקות ושׁדופת קדים צמחות אחריהן׃
B’reisheet 41:7 ותבלענה השׁבלים הדקות את שׁבע השׁבלים הבריאות והמלאות וייקץ פרעה והנה חלום׃
B’reisheet 41:8 ויהי בבקר ותפעם רוחו וישׁלח ויקרא את־כל־חרטמי מצרים ואת־כל־חכמיה ויספר פרעה להם את־חלמו ואין־פותר אותם לפרעה׃
B’reisheet 41:9 וידבר שׂר המשׁקים את־פרעה לאמר את־חטאי אני מזכיר היום׃
B’reisheet 41:10 פרעה קצף על־עבדיו ויתן אתי במשׁמר בית שׂר הטבחים אתי ואת שׂר האפים׃
B’reisheet 41:11 ונחלמה חלום בלילה אחד אני והוא אישׁ כפתרון חלמו חלמנו׃
B’reisheet 41:12 ושׁם אתנו נער עברי עבד לשׂר הטבחים ונספר־לו ויפתר־לנו את־חלמתינו אישׁ כחלמו פתר׃
B’reisheet 41:13 ויהי כאשׁר פתר־לנו כן היה אתי השׁיב על־כני ואתו תלה׃
B’reisheet 41:14 וישׁלח פרעה ויקרא את־יוסף ויריצהו מן־הבור ויגלח ויחלף שׂמלתיו ויבא אל־פרעה׃
B’reisheet 41:15 ויאמר פרעה אל־יוסף חלום חלמתי ופתר אין אתו ואני שׁמעתי עליך לאמר תשׁמע חלום לפתר אתו׃
B’reisheet 41:16 ויען יוסף את־פרעה לאמר בלעדי אלהים יענה את־שׁלום פרעה׃
B’reisheet 41:17 וידבר פרעה אל־יוסף בחלמי הנני עמד על־שׂפת היאר׃
B’reisheet 41:18 והנה מן־היאר עלת שׁבע פרות בריאות בשׂר ויפת תאר ותרעינה באחו׃
B’reisheet 41:19 והנה שׁבע־פרות אחרות עלות אחריהן דלות ורעות תאר מאד ורקות בשׂר לא־ראיתי כהנה בכל־ארץ מצרים לרע׃
B’reisheet 41:20 ותאכלנה הפרות הרקות והרעות את שׁבע הפרות הראשׁנות הבריאת׃
B’reisheet 41:21 ותבאנה אל־קרבנה ולא נודע כי־באו אל־קרבנה ומראיהן רע כאשׁר בתחלה ואיקץ׃
B’reisheet 41:22 וארא בחלמי והנה שׁבע שׁבלים עלת בקנה אחד מלאת וטבות׃
B’reisheet 41:23 והנה שׁבע שׁבלים צנמות דקות שׁדפות קדים צמחות אחריהם׃
B’reisheet 41:24 ותבלען השׁבלים הדקת את שׁבע השׁבלים הטבות ואמר אל־החרטמים ואין מגיד לי׃
B’reisheet 41:25 ויאמר יוסף אל־פרעה חלום פרעה אחד הוא את אשׁר האלהים עשׂה הגיד לפרעה׃
B’reisheet 41:26 שׁבע פרת הטבת שׁבע שׁנים הנה ושׁבע השׁבלים הטבת שׁבע שׁנים הנה חלום אחד הוא׃
B’reisheet 41:27 ושׁבע הפרות הרקות והרעת העלת אחריהן שׁבע שׁנים הנה ושׁבע השׁבלים הרקות שׁדפות הקדים יהיו שׁבע שׁני רעב׃
B’reisheet 41:28 הוא הדבר אשׁר דברתי אל־פרעה אשׁר האלהים עשׂה הראה את־פרעה׃
B’reisheet 41:29 הנה שׁבע שׁנים באות שׂבע גדול בכל־ארץ מצרים׃
B’reisheet 41:30 וקמו שׁבע שׁני רעב אחריהן ונשׁכח כל־השׂבע בארץ מצרים וכלה הרעב את־הארץ׃
B’reisheet 41:31 ולא־יודע השׂבע בארץ מפני הרעב ההוא אחרי־כן כי־כבד הוא מאד׃
B’reisheet 41:32 ועל השׁנות החלום אל־פרעה פעמים כי־נכון הדבר מעם האלהים וממהר האלהים לעשׂתו׃
B’reisheet 41:33 ועתה ירא פרעה אישׁ נבון וחכם וישׁיתהו על־ארץ מצרים׃
B’reisheet 41:34 יעשׂה פרעה ויפקד פקדים על־הארץ וחמשׁ את־ארץ מצרים בשׁבע שׁני השׂבע׃
B’reisheet 41:35 ויקבצו את־כל־אכל השׁנים הטבות הבאת האלה ויצברו־בר תחת יד־פרעה אכל בערים ושׁמרו׃
B’reisheet 41:36 והיה האכל לפקדון לארץ לשׁבע שׁני הרעב אשׁר תהיין בארץ מצרים ולא־תכרת הארץ ברעב׃
B’reisheet 41:37 וייטב הדבר בעיני פרעה ובעיני כל־עבדיו׃
B’reisheet 41:38 ויאמר פרעה אל־עבדיו הנמצא כזה אישׁ אשׁר רוח אלהים בו׃
B’reisheet 41:39 ויאמר פרעה אל־יוסף אחרי הודיע אלהים אותך את־כל־זאת אין־נבון וחכם כמוך׃
B’reisheet 41:40 אתה תהיה על־ביתי ועל־פיך ישׁק כל־עמי רק הכסא אגדל ממך׃
B’reisheet 41:41 ויאמר פרעה אל־יוסף ראה נתתי אתך על כל־ארץ מצרים׃
B’reisheet 41:42 ויסר פרעה את־טבעתו מעל ידו ויתן אתה על־יד יוסף וילבשׁ אתו בגדי־שׁשׁ וישׂם רבד הזהב על־צוארו׃
B’reisheet 41:43 וירכב אתו במרכבת המשׁנה אשׁר־לו ויקראו לפניו אברך ונתון אתו על כל־ארץ מצרים׃
B’reisheet 41:44 ויאמר פרעה אל־יוסף אני פרעה ובלעדיך לא־ירים אישׁ את־ידו ואת־רגלו בכל־ארץ מצרים׃
B’reisheet 41:45 ויקרא פרעה שׁם־יוסף צפנת פענח ויתן־לו את־אסנת בת־פוטי פרע כהן אן לאשׁה ויצא יוסף על־ארץ מצרים׃
B’reisheet 41:46 ויוסף בן־שׁלשׁים שׁנה בעמדו לפני פרעה מלך־מצרים ויצא יוסף מלפני פרעה ויעבר בכל־ארץ מצרים׃
B’reisheet 41:47 ותעשׂ הארץ בשׁבע שׁני השׂבע לקמצים׃
B’reisheet 41:48 ויקבץ את־כל־אכל שׁבע שׁנים אשׁר היו בארץ מצרים ויתן־אכל בערים אכל שׂדה־העיר אשׁר סביבתיה נתן בתוכה׃
B’reisheet 41:49 ויצבר יוסף בר כחול הים הרבה מאד עד כי־חדל לספר כי־אין מספר׃
B’reisheet 41:50 וליוסף ילד שׁני בנים בטרם תבוא שׁנת הרעב אשׁר ילדה־לו אסנת בת־פוטי פרע כהן און׃
B’reisheet 41:51 ויקרא יוסף את־שׁם הבכור מנשׁה כי־נשׁני אלהים את־כל־עמלי ואת כל־בית אבי׃
B’reisheet 41:52 ואת שׁם השׁני קרא אפרים כי־הפרני אלהים בארץ עניי׃
B’reisheet 41:53 ותכלינה שׁבע שׁני השׂבע אשׁר היה בארץ מצרים׃
B’reisheet 41:54 ותחלינה שׁבע שׁני הרעב לבוא כאשׁר אמר יוסף ויהי רעב בכל־הארצות ובכל־ארץ מצרים היה לחם׃
B’reisheet 41:55 ותרעב כל־ארץ מצרים ויצעק העם אל־פרעה ללחם ויאמר פרעה לכל־מצרים לכו אל־יוסף אשׁר־יאמר לכם תעשׂו׃
B’reisheet 41:56 והרעב היה על כל־פני הארץ ויפתח יוסף את־כל־אשׁר בהם וישׁבר למצרים ויחזק הרעב בארץ מצרים׃
B’reisheet 41:57 וכל־הארץ באו מצרימה לשׁבר אל־יוסף כי־חזק הרעב בכל־הארץ׃
B’reisheet 42:1 וירא יעקב כי ישׁ־שׁבר במצרים ויאמר יעקב לבניו למה תתראו׃
B’reisheet 42:2 ויאמר הנה שׁמעתי כי ישׁ־שׁבר במצרים רדו־שׁמה ושׁברו־לנו משׁם ונחיה ולא נמות׃
B’reisheet 42:3 וירדו אחי־יוסף עשׂרה לשׁבר בר ממצרים׃
B’reisheet 42:4 ואת־בנימין אחי יוסף לא־שׁלח יעקב את־אחיו כי אמר פן־יקראנו אסון׃
B’reisheet 42:5 ויבאו בני ישׂראל לשׁבר בתוך הבאים כי־היה הרעב בארץ כנען׃
B’reisheet 42:6 ויוסף הוא השׁליט על־הארץ הוא המשׁביר לכל־עם הארץ ויבאו אחי יוסף וישׁתחוו־לו אפים ארצה׃
B’reisheet 42:7 וירא יוסף את־אחיו ויכרם ויתנכר אליהם וידבר אתם קשׁות ויאמר אלהם מאין באתם ויאמרו מארץ כנען לשׁבר־אכל׃
B’reisheet 42:8 ויכר יוסף את־אחיו והם לא הכרהו׃
B’reisheet 42:9 ויזכר יוסף את החלמות אשׁר חלם להם ויאמר אלהם מרגלים אתם לראות את־ערות הארץ באתם׃
B’reisheet 42:10 ויאמרו אליו לא אדני ועבדיך באו לשׁבר־אכל׃
B’reisheet 42:11 כלנו בני אישׁ־אחד נחנו כנים אנחנו לא־היו עבדיך מרגלים׃
B’reisheet 42:12 ויאמר אלהם לא כי־ערות הארץ באתם לראות׃
B’reisheet 42:13 ויאמרו שׁנים עשׂר עבדיך אחים אנחנו בני אישׁ־אחד בארץ כנען והנה הקטן את־אבינו היום והאחד איננו׃
B’reisheet 42:14 ויאמר אלהם יוסף הוא אשׁר דברתי אלכם לאמר מרגלים אתם׃
B’reisheet 42:15 בזאת תבחנו חי פרעה אם־תצאו מזה כי אם־בבוא אחיכם הקטן הנה׃
B’reisheet 42:16 שׁלחו מכם אחד ויקח את־אחיכם ואתם האסרו ויבחנו דבריכם האמת אתכם ואם־לא חי פרעה כי מרגלים אתם׃
B’reisheet 42:17 ויאסף אתם אל־משׁמר שׁלשׁת ימים׃
B’reisheet 42:18 ויאמר אלהם יוסף ביום השׁלישׁי זאת עשׂו וחיו את־האלהים אני ירא׃
B’reisheet 42:19 אם־כנים אתם אחיכם אחד יאסר בבית משׁמרכם ואתם לכו הביאו שׁבר רעבון בתיכם׃
B’reisheet 42:20 ואת־אחיכם הקטן תביאו אלי ויאמנו דבריכם ולא תמותו ויעשׂו־כן׃
B’reisheet 42:21 ויאמרו אישׁ אל־אחיו אבל אשׁמים אנחנו על־אחינו אשׁר ראינו צרת נפשׁו בהתחננו אלינו ולא שׁמענו על־כן באה אלינו הצרה הזאת׃
B’reisheet 42:22 ויען ראובן אתם לאמר הלוא אמרתי אליכם לאמר אל־תחטאו בילד ולא שׁמעתם וגם־דמו הנה נדרשׁ׃
B’reisheet 42:23 והם לא ידעו כי שׁמע יוסף כי המליץ בינתם׃
B’reisheet 42:24 ויסב מעליהם ויבך וישׁב אלהם וידבר אלהם ויקח מאתם את־שׁמעון ויאסר אתו לעיניהם׃
B’reisheet 42:25 ויצו יוסף וימלאו את־כליהם בר ולהשׁיב כספיהם אישׁ אל־שׂקו ולתת להם צדה לדרך ויעשׂ להם כן׃
B’reisheet 42:26 וישׂאו את־שׁברם על־חמריהם וילכו משׁם׃
B’reisheet 42:27 ויפתח האחד את־שׂקו לתת מספוא לחמרו במלון וירא את־כספו והנה־הוא בפי אמתחתו׃
B’reisheet 42:28 ויאמר אל־אחיו הושׁב כספי וגם הנה באמתחתי ויצא לבם ויחרדו אישׁ אל־אחיו לאמר מה־זאת עשׂה אלהים לנו׃
B’reisheet 42:29 ויבאו אל־יעקב אביהם ארצה כנען ויגידו לו את כל־הקרת אתם לאמר׃
B’reisheet 42:30 דבר האישׁ אדני הארץ אתנו קשׁות ויתן אתנו כמרגלים את־הארץ׃
B’reisheet 42:31 ונאמר אליו כנים אנחנו לא היינו מרגלים׃
B’reisheet 42:32 שׁנים־עשׂר אנחנו אחים בני אבינו האחד איננו והקטן היום את־אבינו בארץ כנען׃
B’reisheet 42:33 ויאמר אלינו האישׁ אדני הארץ בזאת אדע כי כנים אתם אחיכם האחד הניחו אתי ואת־רעבון בתיכם קחו ולכו׃
B’reisheet 42:34 והביאו את־אחיכם הקטן אלי ואדעה כי לא מרגלים אתם כי כנים אתם את־אחיכם אתן לכם ואת־הארץ תסחרו׃
B’reisheet 42:35 ויהי הם מריקים שׂקיהם והנה־אישׁ צרור־כספו בשׂקו ויראו את־צררות כספיהם המה ואביהם וייראו׃
B’reisheet 42:36 ויאמר אלהם יעקב אביהם אתי שׁכלתם יוסף איננו ושׁמעון איננו ואת־בנימן תקחו עלי היו כלנה׃
B’reisheet 42:37 ויאמר ראובן אל־אביו לאמר את־שׁני בני תמית אם־לא אביאנו אליך תנה אתו על־ידי ואני אשׁיבנו אליך׃
B’reisheet 42:38 ויאמר לא־ירד בני עמכם כי־אחיו מת והוא לבדו נשׁאר וקראהו אסון בדרך אשׁר תלכו־בה והורדתם את־שׂיבתי ביגון שׁאולה׃
B’reisheet 43:1 והרעב כבד בארץ׃
B’reisheet 43:2 ויהי כאשׁר כלו לאכל את־השׁבר אשׁר הביאו ממצרים ויאמר אליהם אביהם שׁבו שׁברו־לנו מעט־אכל׃
B’reisheet 43:3 ויאמר אליו יהודה לאמר העד העד בנו האישׁ לאמר לא־תראו פני בלתי אחיכם אתכם׃
B’reisheet 43:4 אם־ישׁך משׁלח את־אחינו אתנו נרדה ונשׁברה לך אכל׃
B’reisheet 43:5 ואם־אינך משׁלח לא נרד כי־האישׁ אמר אלינו לא־תראו פני בלתי אחיכם אתכם׃
B’reisheet 43:6 ויאמר ישׂראל למה הרעתם לי להגיד לאישׁ העוד לכם אח׃
B’reisheet 43:7 ויאמרו שׁאול שׁאל־האישׁ לנו ולמולדתנו לאמר העוד אביכם חי הישׁ לכם אח ונגד־לו על־פי הדברים האלה הידוע נדע כי יאמר הורידו את־אחיכם׃
B’reisheet 43:8 ויאמר יהודה אל־ישׂראל אביו שׁלחה הנער אתי ונקומה ונלכה ונחיה ולא נמות גם־אנחנו גם־אתה גם־טפנו׃
B’reisheet 43:9 אנכי אערבנו מידי תבקשׁנו אם־לא הביאתיו אליך והצגתיו לפניך וחטאתי לך כל־הימים׃
B’reisheet 43:10 כי לולא התמהמהנו כי־עתה שׁבנו זה פעמים׃
B’reisheet 43:11 ויאמר אלהם ישׂראל אביהם אם־כן אפוא זאת עשׂו קחו מזמרת הארץ בכליכם והורידו לאישׁ מנחה מעט צרי ומעט דבשׁ נכאת ולט בטנים ושׁקדים׃
B’reisheet 43:12 וכסף משׁנה קחו בידכם ואת־הכסף המושׁב בפי אמתחתיכם תשׁיבו בידכם אולי משׁגה הוא׃
B’reisheet 43:13 ואת־אחיכם קחו וקומו שׁובו אל־האישׁ׃
B’reisheet 43:14 ואל שׁדי יתן לכם רחמים לפני האישׁ ושׁלח לכם את־אחיכם אחר ואת־בנימין ואני כאשׁר שׁכלתי שׁכלתי׃
B’reisheet 43:15 ויקחו האנשׁים את־המנחה הזאת ומשׁנה־כסף לקחו בידם ואת־בנימן ויקמו וירדו מצרים ויעמדו לפני יוסף׃
B’reisheet 43:16 וירא יוסף אתם את־בנימין ויאמר לאשׁר על־ביתו הבא את־האנשׁים הביתה וטבח טבח והכן כי אתי יאכלו האנשׁים בצהרים׃
B’reisheet 43:17 ויעשׂ האישׁ כאשׁר אמר יוסף ויבא האישׁ את־האנשׁים ביתה יוסף׃
B’reisheet 43:18 וייראו האנשׁים כי הובאו בית יוסף ויאמרו על־דבר הכסף השׁב באמתחתינו בתחלה אנחנו מובאים להתגלל עלינו ולהתנפל עלינו ולקחת אתנו לעבדים ואת־חמרינו׃
B’reisheet 43:19 ויגשׁו אל־האישׁ אשׁר על־בית יוסף וידברו אליו פתח הבית׃
B’reisheet 43:20 ויאמרו בי אדני ירד ירדנו בתחלה לשׁבר־אכל׃
B’reisheet 43:21 ויהי כי־באנו אל־המלון ונפתחה את־אמתחתינו והנה כסף־אישׁ בפי אמתחתו כספנו במשׁקלו ונשׁב אתו בידנו׃
B’reisheet 43:22 וכסף אחר הורדנו בידנו לשׁבר־אכל לא ידענו מי־שׂם כספנו באמתחתינו׃
B’reisheet 43:23 ויאמר שׁלום לכם אל־תיראו אלהיכם ואלהי אביכם נתן לכם מטמון באמתחתיכם כספכם בא אלי ויוצא אלהם את־שׁמעון׃
B’reisheet 43:24 ויבא האישׁ את־האנשׁים ביתה יוסף ויתן־מים וירחצו רגליהם ויתן מספוא לחמריהם׃
B’reisheet 43:25 ויכינו את־המנחה עד־בוא יוסף בצהרים כי שׁמעו כי־שׁם יאכלו לחם׃
B’reisheet 43:26 ויבא יוסף הביתה ויביאו לו את־המנחה אשׁר־בידם הביתה וישׁתחוו־לו ארצה׃
B’reisheet 43:27 וישׁאל להם לשׁלום ויאמר השׁלום אביכם הזקן אשׁר אמרתם העודנו חי׃
B’reisheet 43:28 ויאמרו שׁלום לעבדך לאבינו עודנו חי ויקדו וישׁתחו׃
B’reisheet 43:29 וישׂא עיניו וירא את־בנימין אחיו בן־אמו ויאמר הזה אחיכם הקטן אשׁר אמרתם אלי ויאמר אלהים יחנך בני׃
B’reisheet 43:30 וימהר יוסף כי־נכמרו רחמיו אל־אחיו ויבקשׁ לבכות ויבא החדרה ויבך שׁמה׃
B’reisheet 43:31 וירחץ פניו ויצא ויתאפק ויאמר שׂימו לחם׃
B’reisheet 43:32 וישׂימו לו לבדו ולהם לבדם ולמצרים האכלים אתו לבדם כי לא יוכלון המצרים לאכל את־העברים לחם כי־תועבה הוא למצרים׃
B’reisheet 43:33 וישׁבו לפניו הבכר כבכרתו והצעיר כצערתו ויתמהו האנשׁים אישׁ אל־רעהו׃
B’reisheet 43:34 וישׂא משׂאת מאת פניו אלהם ותרב משׂאת בנימן ממשׂאת כלם חמשׁ ידות וישׁתו וישׁכרו עמו׃
B’reisheet 44:1 ויצו את־אשׁר על־ביתו לאמר מלא את־אמתחת האנשׁים אכל כאשׁר יוכלון שׂאת ושׂים כסף־אישׁ בפי אמתחתו׃
B’reisheet 44:2 ואת־גביעי גביע הכסף תשׂים בפי אמתחת הקטן ואת כסף שׁברו ויעשׂ כדבר יוסף אשׁר דבר׃
B’reisheet 44:3 הבקר אור והאנשׁים שׁלחו המה וחמריהם׃
B’reisheet 44:4 הם יצאו את־העיר לא הרחיקו ויוסף אמר לאשׁר על־ביתו קום רדף אחרי האנשׁים והשׂגתם ואמרת אלהם למה שׁלמתם רעה תחת טובה׃
B’reisheet 44:5 הלוא זה אשׁר ישׁתה אדני בו והוא נחשׁ ינחשׁ בו הרעתם אשׁר עשׂיתם׃
B’reisheet 44:6 וישׂגם וידבר אלהם את־הדברים האלה׃
B’reisheet 44:7 ויאמרו אליו למה ידבר אדני כדברים האלה חלילה לעבדיך מעשׂות כדבר הזה׃
B’reisheet 44:8 הן כסף אשׁר מצאנו בפי אמתחתינו השׁיבנו אליך מארץ כנען ואיך נגנב מבית אדניך כסף או זהב׃
B’reisheet 44:9 אשׁר ימצא אתו מעבדיך ומת וגם־אנחנו נהיה לאדני לעבדים׃
B’reisheet 44:10 ויאמר גם־עתה כדבריכם כן־הוא אשׁר ימצא אתו יהיה־לי עבד ואתם תהיו נקים׃
B’reisheet 44:11 וימהרו ויורדו אישׁ את־אמתחתו ארצה ויפתחו אישׁ אמתחתו׃
B’reisheet 44:12 ויחפשׂ בגדול החל ובקטן כלה וימצא הגביע באמתחת בנימן׃
B’reisheet 44:13 ויקרעו שׂמלתם ויעמס אישׁ על־חמרו וישׁבו העירה׃
B’reisheet 44:14 ויבא יהודה ואחיו ביתה יוסף והוא עודנו שׁם ויפלו לפניו ארצה׃
B’reisheet 44:15 ויאמר להם יוסף מה־המעשׂה הזה אשׁר עשׂיתם הלוא ידעתם כי־נחשׁ ינחשׁ אישׁ אשׁר כמני׃
B’reisheet 44:16 ויאמר יהודה מה־נאמר לאדני מה־נדבר ומה־נצטדק האלהים מצא את־עון עבדיך הננו עבדים לאדני גם־אנחנו גם אשׁר־נמצא הגביע בידו׃
B’reisheet 44:17 ויאמר חלילה לי מעשׂות זאת האישׁ אשׁר נמצא הגביע בידו הוא יהיה־לי עבד ואתם עלו לשׁלום אל־אביכם׃

B’reisheet 41:1 And it came to be, at the end of two years’ time, that Pharaoh had a dream, and saw him standing by the river,
B’reisheet 41:2 and saw seven cows coming up out of the river, fine looking and fat, and they fed amongst the reeds,
B’reisheet 41:3 then saw seven other cows coming up after them out of the river, ugly and lean of flesh, and stood by the other cows on the bank of the river.
B’reisheet 41:4 And the ugly and lean of flesh cows ate up the seven fine looking and fat cows. Then Pharaoh awoke.
B’reisheet 41:5 And he slept and dreamed a second time and saw seven heads of grain coming up on one stalk, plump and good,
B’reisheet 41:6 and saw seven lean heads, scorched by the east wind, coming up after them.
B’reisheet 41:7 And the seven lean heads swallowed the seven plump and complete heads. Then Pharaoh awoke and saw it was a dream.
B’reisheet 41:8 And it came to be in the morning that his spirit was moved, and he sent and called for all the magicians of Mitsrayim and all its wise men. And Pharaoh related to them his dreams, but there was no one who could interpret them for Pharaoh.
B’reisheet 41:9 Then the chief cupbearer spoke to Pharaoh, saying, “I remember my crimes this day.
B’reisheet 41:10 “When Pharaoh was wroth with his servants, and put me in confinement in the house of the captain of the guard, both me and the chief baker,
B’reisheet 41:11 each one of us dreamed a dream in one night, him and me. Each of us dreamed according to the interpretation of his own dream.
B’reisheet 41:12 “And there was with us a Heḇrew youth, a servant of the captain of the guard. And we related to him, and he interpreted our dreams for us. To each man he interpreted according to his own dream.
B’reisheet 41:13 “And it came to be, as he interpreted for us, so it came to be. He restored me to my office, and he hanged him.”
B’reisheet 41:14 Then Pharaoh sent and called Yosĕf, and they hurriedly brought him out of the dungeon. And he shaved and changed his garments, and came to Pharaoh.
B’reisheet 41:15 And Pharaoh said to Yosĕf, “I have dreamed a dream, and there is no one to interpret it. Now I myself have heard it said of you that you understand a dream, to interpret it.”
B’reisheet 41:16 And Yosĕf answered Pharaoh, saying, “It is not in me, let Elohim answer Pharaoh with peace.”
B’reisheet 41:17 And Pharaoh said to Yosĕf, “See, in my dream I stood on the bank of the river
B’reisheet 41:18 and saw seven cows coming up out of the river, fine looking and fat, and they fed amongst the reeds,
B’reisheet 41:19 then saw seven other cows coming up after them, poor and very ugly and lean of flesh, such ugliness as I have never seen in all the land of Mitsrayim.
B’reisheet 41:20 “And the lean of flesh and ugly cows ate up the first seven, the fat cows.
B’reisheet 41:21 “Yet when they had eaten them up, no one would have known that they had eaten them, for they were as ugly as at the beginning. Then I awoke.
B’reisheet 41:22 “Also, I looked in my dream and saw seven heads coming up on one stalk, complete and good,
B’reisheet 41:23 then saw seven heads, withered, lean, scorched by the east wind, coming up after them.
B’reisheet 41:24 “And the lean heads swallowed the seven good heads. And I spoke to the magicians, but there was no one who could explain it to me.”
B’reisheet 41:25 And Yosĕf said to Pharaoh, “The dream of Pharaoh is one. Elohim has shown Pharaoh what He is about to do:
B’reisheet 41:26 “The seven good cows are seven years, and the seven good heads are seven years – it is one dream.
B’reisheet 41:27 “And the seven lean and ugly cows which came up after them are seven years, and the seven empty heads scorched by the east wind are seven years of scarcity of food.
B’reisheet 41:28 “This is the word which I spoke to Pharaoh: Elohim has shown Pharaoh what He is about to do.
B’reisheet 41:29 “See, seven years of great plenty are coming in all the land of Mitsrayim,
B’reisheet 41:30 but after them seven years of scarcity of food shall arise and all the plenty will be forgotten in the land of Mitsrayim. And the scarcity of food shall destroy the land,
B’reisheet 41:31 and the plenty shall not be remembered in the land, because of the scarcity of food following, for it is very severe.
B’reisheet 41:32 “And the dream was repeated to Pharaoh twice because the word is established by Elohim, and Elohim is hastening to do it.
B’reisheet 41:33 “And now, let Pharaoh look for a discerning and wise man, and set him over the land of Mitsrayim.
B’reisheet 41:34 “Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint overseers over the land, to take up one-fifth of the land of Mitsrayim in the seven years of plenty.
B’reisheet 41:35 “And let them gather all the food of those good years that are coming, and store up grain under the hand of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities.
B’reisheet 41:36 “And the food shall be for a store for the land for the seven years of scarcity of food which shall be in the land of Mitsrayim, and do not let the land be cut off by the scarcity of food.”
B’reisheet 41:37 And the word was good in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of all his servants.
B’reisheet 41:38 And Pharaoh said to his servants, “Could we find another like him, a man in whom is the Spirit of Elohim?”
B’reisheet 41:39 Then Pharaoh said to Yosĕf, “Since Elohim has shown you all this, there is no one as discerning and wise as you.
B’reisheet 41:40 “Be over my house, you yourself, and at your mouth all my people shall kiss – only in the throne I am greater than you.”
B’reisheet 41:41 And Pharaoh said to Yosĕf, “See, I have set you over all the land of Mitsrayim.”
B’reisheet 41:42 And Pharaoh took his seal-ring off his hand and put it on Yosĕf’s hand. And he dressed him in garments of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck.
B’reisheet 41:43 And he had him ride in the second chariot which he had. And they cried out before him, “Bow the knee!” And he set him over all the land of Mitsrayim.
B’reisheet 41:44 And Pharaoh said to Yosĕf, “I am Pharaoh, and without a word from you let no man lift his hand or foot in all the land of Mitsrayim.”
B’reisheet 41:45 And Pharaoh called Yosĕf’s name Zaphnath-Paʽnĕaḥ. And he gave him as a wife Asenath, the daughter of Poti-Pherah priest of On. And Yosĕf went out over all the land of Mitsrayim.
B’reisheet 41:46 Now Yosĕf was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh sovereign of Mitsrayim. And Yosĕf went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Mitsrayim.
B’reisheet 41:47 And in the seven years of plenty the ground brought forth generously.
B’reisheet 41:48 And he gathered all the food of the seven years which were in the land of Mitsrayim, and laid up the food in the cities. He laid up in every city the food of the fields which surrounded them.
B’reisheet 41:49 Thus Yosĕf gathered very much grain, as the sand of the sea, until he ceased counting, for it was without number.
B’reisheet 41:50 And to Yosĕf were born two sons before the years of scarcity of food came, whom Asenath, the daughter of Poti-Pherah priest of On, bore to him.
B’reisheet 41:51 And Yosĕf called the name of the first-born Menashsheh (Forgetfulness), “For Elohim has made me forget all my toil and all my father’s house.”
B’reisheet 41:52 And the name of the second he called Ephrayim (Double portion), “For Elohim has caused me to bear fruit in the land of my affliction.”
B’reisheet 41:53 And the seven years of plenty which were in the land of Mitsrayim came to an end,
B’reisheet 41:54 and the seven years of scarcity of food began to come, as Yosĕf had said. And the scarcity of food was in all lands, but in all the land of Mitsrayim there was bread.
B’reisheet 41:55 But when all the land of Mitsrayim hungered, and the people cried to Pharaoh for bread, Pharaoh said to all the Mitsrites, “Go to Yosĕf, do whatever he says to you.”
B’reisheet 41:56 And the scarcity of food was over all the face of the earth, and Yosĕf opened all the storehouses and sold to the Mitsrites. And the scarcity of food was severe in the land of Mitsrayim.
B’reisheet 41:57 And all the earth came to Yosĕf in Mitsrayim to buy grain, because the scarcity of food was severe in all the earth.
B’reisheet 42:1 And when Ya`akov̱ saw that there was grain in Mitsrayim, Ya`akov̱ said to his sons, “Why do you look at each other?”
B’reisheet 42:2 And he said, “See, I have heard that there is grain in Mitsrayim. Go down to that place and buy for us there, and let us live and not die.”
B’reisheet 42:3 And Yosĕf’s ten brothers went down to buy grain in Mitsrayim.
B’reisheet 42:4 But Ya`akov̱ did not send Yosĕf’s brother Binyamin with his brothers, for he said, “Lest some harm come to him.”
B’reisheet 42:5 And the sons of Yisra’ĕl went to buy grain among those who journeyed, for the scarcity of food was in the land of Kenaʽan.
B’reisheet 42:6 And Yosĕf was the governor over the land, he was the one who sold to all the people of the land. And Yosĕf’s brothers came and bowed down before him with their faces to the earth.
B’reisheet 42:7 And Yosĕf saw his brothers and recognized them, but he acted as a stranger to them and spoke to them harshly, and said to them, “Where do you come from?” And they said, “From the land of Kenaʽan to buy food.”
B’reisheet 42:8 So Yosĕf recognized his brothers, but they did not recognize him.
B’reisheet 42:9 And Yosĕf remembered the dreams which he had dreamed about them, and said to them, “You are spies! You have come to see the nakedness of the land!”
B’reisheet 42:10 And they said to him, “No, my master, but your servants have come to buy food.
B’reisheet 42:11 “We are all one man’s sons, we are trustworthy, your servants are not spies.”
B’reisheet 42:12 But he said to them, “No, but you have come to see the nakedness of the land.”
B’reisheet 42:13 And they said, “Your servants are twelve brothers, the sons of one man in the land of Kenaʽan. And see, the youngest is with our father today, and one is no more.”
B’reisheet 42:14 And Yosĕf said to them, “It is as I spoke to you, saying, ‘You are spies!’
B’reisheet 42:15 “By this you shall be proven: By the life of Pharaoh, you do not leave this place unless your youngest brother comes here.
B’reisheet 42:16 “Send one of you, and let him bring your brother, while you are kept in prison. So let your words be proven to see whether there is any truth in you, or else, by the life of Pharaoh, you are spies!”
B’reisheet 42:17 And he put them all together in prison for three days.
B’reisheet 42:18 Now Yosĕf said to them the third day, “Do this and live, for I fear Elohim:
B’reisheet 42:19 “If you are trustworthy, let one of your brothers be confined to your prison house, and you, go, bring grain for the scarcity of food of your houses.
B’reisheet 42:20 “And bring your youngest brother to me, and let your words be confirmed, and you do not die.” And so they did.
B’reisheet 42:21 And they said to each other, “Truly, we are guilty concerning our brother, for we saw the distress of his life when he pleaded with us, yet we did not listen, that is why this distress has come upon us.”
B’reisheet 42:22 And Re’uḇĕn answered them, saying, “Did I not speak to you, saying, ‘Do not sin against the boy,’ and you would not listen? And see, his blood is now required of us.”
B’reisheet 42:23 And they did not know that Yosĕf understood them, for he spoke to them through an interpreter.
B’reisheet 42:24 And he turned himself away from them and wept, but came back to them and spoke to them. And he took Shimʽon from them and bound him before their eyes.
B’reisheet 42:25 And Yosĕf commanded and they filled their sacks with grain, also to put back every man’s silver to his sack, and to give them food for the journey. And thus it was done for them.
B’reisheet 42:26 So they loaded their donkeys with the grain and went from there.
B’reisheet 42:27 And as one of them opened his sack to give his donkey fodder at the lodging place, he saw his silver, for there it was in the mouth of his sack!
B’reisheet 42:28 And he said to his brothers, “My silver has been returned, and there it is, in my sack!” And their hearts sank and they were afraid, saying to each other, “What is this that Elohim has done to us?”
B’reisheet 42:29 So they came to Ya`akov̱ their father in the land of Kenaʽan and reported to him all that befell them, saying,
B’reisheet 42:30 “The man, the master of the land, spoke to us harshly, and took us for spies of the land.
B’reisheet 42:31 “But we said to him, ‘We are trustworthy, we are not spies.
B’reisheet 42:32 ‘We are twelve brothers, sons of our father. One is no more, and the youngest is today with our father in the land of Kenaʽan.’
B’reisheet 42:33 “And the man, the master of the land, said to us, ‘By this I know that you are trustworthy: Leave one of your brothers here with me, and take food for the scarcity of food of your households, and go.
B’reisheet 42:34 ‘And bring your youngest brother to me, then I know that you are not spies, but that you are trustworthy – I give your brother to you, and you move about in the land.’ ”
B’reisheet 42:35 And it came to be as they emptied their sacks, that look, the bundle of each man’s silver was in his sack! And when they and their father saw the bundles of silver, they were afraid.
B’reisheet 42:36 And Ya`akov̱ their father said to them, “You have bereaved me – Yosĕf is no more, and Shimʽon is no more, and you would take Binyamin! All this is against me.”
B’reisheet 42:37 So Re’uḇĕn spoke to his father, saying, “Take the lives of my two sons if I do not bring him back to you. Put him in my hands, and I myself bring him back to you.”
B’reisheet 42:38 But he said, “My son is not going down with you, for his brother is dead, and he is left alone. If any harm should come to him along the way in which you go, then you would bring down my grey hair with sorrow to the grave.”
B’reisheet 43:1 But the scarcity of food was severe in the land.
B’reisheet 43:2 And it came to be, when they had eaten up the grain which they had brought from Mitsrayim, that their father said to them, “Go back, buy us a little food.”
B’reisheet 43:3 But Yehuḏah spoke to him, saying, “The man vehemently warned us, saying, ‘You do not see my face unless your brother is with you.’ ”
B’reisheet 43:4 “If you let our brother go with us, we go down and buy you food.
B’reisheet 43:5 “But if you do not let him go, we do not go down, because the man said to us, ‘You do not see my face unless your brother is with you.’ ”
B’reisheet 43:6 And Yisra’ĕl said, “Why did you do evil to me to inform the man that you still had another brother?”
B’reisheet 43:7 And they said, “The man kept asking about us and our relatives, saying, ‘Is your father still alive? Have you another brother?’ And we informed him according to these words. How could we know that he would say, ‘Bring your brother down’?”
B’reisheet 43:8 And Yehuḏah said to Yisra’ĕl his father, “Send the boy with me, and let us arise and go, and live and not die, both we and you and also our little ones.
B’reisheet 43:9 “I myself shall stand guaranty for him – from my hand you are to require him. If I do not bring him back to you and set him before you, then let me bear the blame forever.
B’reisheet 43:10 “For if we had not delayed, truly by now we could have returned this second time.”
B’reisheet 43:11 And their father Yisra’ĕl said to them, “If so, then do this: Take some of the best fruit of the land in your vessels and bring a present down for the man, a little balm and a little honey, spices and myrrh, nuts and almonds.
B’reisheet 43:12 “And take double silver in your hand, and take back in your hand the silver that was returned in the mouth of your sacks. It could have been a mistake.
B’reisheet 43:13 “And take your brother, and arise, go back to the man.
B’reisheet 43:14 “And Ěl Shaddai give to you compassion before the man, so that he shall release your other brother and Binyamin. And I, if I am bereaved, I am bereaved!”
B’reisheet 43:15 And the men took that present and Binyamin, and they took double the amount of silver in their hand, and arose and went down to Mitsrayim, and stood before Yosĕf.
B’reisheet 43:16 And Yosĕf saw Binyamin with them, and said to the one over his house, “Bring the men home, and make a great slaughter, and prepare, for these men are to eat with me at noon.”
B’reisheet 43:17 And the man did as Yosĕf said, and the man brought the men into Yosĕf’s house.
B’reisheet 43:18 And the men were afraid because they were brought into Yosĕf’s house. And they said, “It is because of the silver, which was put back into our sacks the first time that we are brought in, to throw himself upon us and fall upon us, to take us as slaves, our donkeys too.”
B’reisheet 43:19 So they came near to the man over the house of Yosĕf, and spoke to him at the door of the house,
B’reisheet 43:20 and said, “O my master, we indeed came down the first time to buy food,
B’reisheet 43:21 but it came to be, when we came to the lodging place, that we opened our sacks and saw each man’s silver in the mouth of his sack, our silver in its weight. And we have brought it back in our hand.
B’reisheet 43:22 “And we have brought down other silver in our hands to buy food. We do not know who put our silver in our sacks.”
B’reisheet 43:23 But he said, “Peace be with you, do not be afraid. Your Elohim and the Elohim of your father has given you treasure in your sacks – your silver had come to me!” And he brought Shimʽon out to them.
B’reisheet 43:24 And the man brought the men into Yosĕf’s house and gave them water, and they washed their feet. And he gave their donkeys fodder.
B’reisheet 43:25 And they made the present ready for Yosĕf’s coming at noon, for they heard that they were to eat there.
B’reisheet 43:26 And when Yosĕf came home, they brought him the present which was in their hand, into the house, and bowed down before him to the earth.
B’reisheet 43:27 And he asked them about their welfare, and said, “Is your father well, the old man of whom you spoke? Is he still alive?”
B’reisheet 43:28 And they said, “Your servant our father is in good health, he is still alive.” And they bowed their heads down and did obeisance.
B’reisheet 43:29 And he lifted his eyes and saw his brother Binyamin, his mother’s son, and said, “Is this your younger brother of whom you spoke to me?” And he said, “Elohim show favor to you, my son.”
B’reisheet 43:30 And Yosĕf hurried, for his emotions were deeply moved towards his brother, and he looked for a place to weep, and went into his room and wept there.
B’reisheet 43:31 Then he washed his face and came out, and controlled himself, and said, “Serve the food.”
B’reisheet 43:32 And they set him a place by himself, and them by themselves, and the Mitsrites who ate with him by themselves, for the Mitsrites could not eat food with the Heḇrews, for that is an abomination to the Mitsrites.
B’reisheet 43:33 And they sat before him, the first-born according to his birthright and the youngest according to his youth, and the men looked at each other in astonishment.
B’reisheet 43:34 And he took portions to them from before him, but Binyamin’s portion was five times as much as any of theirs. And they feasted and they drank with him.
B’reisheet 44:1 And he commanded the one over his house, saying, “Fill the men’s sacks with food, as they are able to bear, and put each man’s silver in the mouth of his sack.
B’reisheet 44:2 “And put my cup, the silver cup, in the mouth of the sack of the youngest, and the silver for his grain.” And he did according to the word of Yosĕf which he spoke.
B’reisheet 44:3 As soon as the morning was light, the men were sent away, they and their donkeys.
B’reisheet 44:4 And when they had gone out of the city, not having gone far, Yosĕf said to the one over his house, “Rise up, follow the men, and when you overtake them, say to them, ‘Why have you repaid evil for good?
B’reisheet 44:5 ‘Is this not the one from which my master drinks, and with which he indeed divines? You have done evil in what you have done.’ ”
B’reisheet 44:6 So he overtook them and spoke these words to them.
B’reisheet 44:7 And they said to him, “Why does my master say these words? Far be it from us that your servants should do according to this word.
B’reisheet 44:8 “See, we brought back to you from the land of Kenaʽan the silver which we found in the mouth of our sacks. How then should we steal silver or gold from your master’s house?
B’reisheet 44:9 “With whomever of your servants it is found – he shall die and we shall become my master’s slaves as well.”
B’reisheet 44:10 And he said, “Now also let it be according to your words: he with whom it is found becomes my slave, and you are innocent.”
B’reisheet 44:11 And they hurried, each man let down his sack to the ground, and each opened his sack.
B’reisheet 44:12 And he searched, with the oldest first and with the youngest last, and the cup was found in Binyamin’s sack.
B’reisheet 44:13 And they tore their garments, and each man loaded his donkey and went back to the city.
B’reisheet 44:14 And Yehuḏah and his brothers came to Yosĕf’s house, and he was still there. And they fell before him on the ground.
B’reisheet 44:15 And Yosĕf said to them, “What deed is this you have done? Did you not know that a man like me indeed divines?”
B’reisheet 44:16 And Yehuḏah said, “What do we say to my master? What do we speak? Or how do we clear ourselves? Elohim has found out the crookedness of your servants. See, we are my master’s slaves, both we and he also with whom the cup was found.”
B’reisheet 44:17 But he said, “Far be it from me to do this. The man in whose hand the cup was found: he becomes my slave. And you, go up in peace to your father.”

B’reisheet 41:38 And Pharaoh said to his servants, “Could we find another like him, a man in whom is the Spirit of Elohim?”
B’reisheet 41:39 Then Pharaoh said to Yosĕf, “Since Elohim has shown you all this, there is no one as discerning and wise as you.
B’reisheet 41:40 “Be over my house, you yourself, and at your mouth all my people shall kiss – only in the throne I am greater than you.”
B’reisheet 41:41 And Pharaoh said to Yosĕf, “See, I have set you over all the land of Mitsrayim.”
B’reisheet 41:42 And Pharaoh took his seal-ring off his hand and put it on Yosĕf’s hand. And he dressed him in garments of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck.
B’reisheet 41:43 And he had him ride in the second chariot which he had. And they cried out before him, “Bow the knee!” And he set him over all the land of Mitsrayim.
B’reisheet 41:44 And Pharaoh said to Yosĕf, “I am Pharaoh, and without a word from you let no man lift his hand or foot in all the land of Mitsrayim.”
B’reisheet 41:45 And Pharaoh called Yosĕf’s name Zaphnath-Paʽnĕaḥ. And he gave him as a wife Asenath, the daughter of Poti-Pherah priest of On. And Yosĕf went out over all the land of Mitsrayim.
B’reisheet 41:46 Now Yosĕf was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh sovereign of Mitsrayim. And Yosĕf went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Mitsrayim.
B’reisheet 41:47 And in the seven years of plenty the ground brought forth generously.
B’reisheet 41:48 And he gathered all the food of the seven years which were in the land of Mitsrayim, and laid up the food in the cities. He laid up in every city the food of the fields which surrounded them.
B’reisheet 41:49 Thus Yosĕf gathered very much grain, as the sand of the sea, until he ceased counting, for it was without number.
B’reisheet 41:50 And to Yosĕf were born two sons before the years of scarcity of food came, whom Asenath, the daughter of Poti-Pherah priest of On, bore to him.
B’reisheet 41:51 And Yosĕf called the name of the first-born Menashsheh (Forgetfulness), “For Elohim has made me forget all my toil and all my father’s house.”
B’reisheet 41:52 And the name of the second he called Ephrayim (Double portion), “For Elohim has caused me to bear fruit in the land of my affliction.”
B’reisheet 41:53 And the seven years of plenty which were in the land of Mitsrayim came to an end,
B’reisheet 41:54 and the seven years of scarcity of food began to come, as Yosĕf had said. And the scarcity of food was in all lands, but in all the land of Mitsrayim there was bread.
B’reisheet 41:55 But when all the land of Mitsrayim hungered, and the people cried to Pharaoh for bread, Pharaoh said to all the Mitsrites, “Go to Yosĕf, do whatever he says to you.”
B’reisheet 41:56 And the scarcity of food was over all the face of the earth, and Yosĕf opened all the storehouses and sold to the Mitsrites. And the scarcity of food was severe in the land of Mitsrayim.
B’reisheet 41:57 And all the earth came to Yosĕf in Mitsrayim to buy grain, because the scarcity of food was severe in all the earth.
B’reisheet 42:1 And when Ya`akov̱ saw that there was grain in Mitsrayim, Ya`akov̱ said to his sons, “Why do you look at each other?”
B’reisheet 42:2 And he said, “See, I have heard that there is grain in Mitsrayim. Go down to that place and buy for us there, and let us live and not die.”
B’reisheet 42:3 And Yosĕf’s ten brothers went down to buy grain in Mitsrayim.
B’reisheet 42:4 But Ya`akov̱ did not send Yosĕf’s brother Binyamin with his brothers, for he said, “Lest some harm come to him.”
B’reisheet 42:5 And the sons of Yisra’ĕl went to buy grain among those who journeyed, for the scarcity of food was in the land of Kenaʽan.
B’reisheet 42:6 And Yosĕf was the governor over the land, he was the one who sold to all the people of the land. And Yosĕf’s brothers came and bowed down before him with their faces to the earth.
B’reisheet 42:7 And Yosĕf saw his brothers and recognized them, but he acted as a stranger to them and spoke to them harshly, and said to them, “Where do you come from?” And they said, “From the land of Kenaʽan to buy food.”
B’reisheet 42:8 So Yosĕf recognized his brothers, but they did not recognize him.
B’reisheet 42:9 And Yosĕf remembered the dreams which he had dreamed about them, and said to them, “You are spies! You have come to see the nakedness of the land!”
B’reisheet 42:10 And they said to him, “No, my master, but your servants have come to buy food.
B’reisheet 42:11 “We are all one man’s sons, we are trustworthy, your servants are not spies.”
B’reisheet 42:12 But he said to them, “No, but you have come to see the nakedness of the land.”
B’reisheet 42:13 And they said, “Your servants are twelve brothers, the sons of one man in the land of Kenaʽan. And see, the youngest is with our father today, and one is no more.”
B’reisheet 42:14 And Yosĕf said to them, “It is as I spoke to you, saying, ‘You are spies!’
B’reisheet 42:15 “By this you shall be proven: By the life of Pharaoh, you do not leave this place unless your youngest brother comes here.
B’reisheet 42:16 “Send one of you, and let him bring your brother, while you are kept in prison. So let your words be proven to see whether there is any truth in you, or else, by the life of Pharaoh, you are spies!”
B’reisheet 42:17 And he put them all together in prison for three days.
B’reisheet 42:18 Now Yosĕf said to them the third day, “Do this and live, for I fear Elohim:
B’reisheet 42:19 “If you are trustworthy, let one of your brothers be confined to your prison house, and you, go, bring grain for the scarcity of food of your houses.
B’reisheet 42:20 “And bring your youngest brother to me, and let your words be confirmed, and you do not die.” And so they did.
B’reisheet 42:21 And they said to each other, “Truly, we are guilty concerning our brother, for we saw the distress of his life when he pleaded with us, yet we did not listen, that is why this distress has come upon us.”
B’reisheet 42:22 And Re’uḇĕn answered them, saying, “Did I not speak to you, saying, ‘Do not sin against the boy,’ and you would not listen? And see, his blood is now required of us.”
B’reisheet 42:23 And they did not know that Yosĕf understood them, for he spoke to them through an interpreter.
B’reisheet 42:24 And he turned himself away from them and wept, but came back to them and spoke to them. And he took Shimʽon from them and bound him before their eyes.
B’reisheet 42:25 And Yosĕf commanded and they filled their sacks with grain, also to put back every man’s silver to his sack, and to give them food for the journey. And thus it was done for them.
B’reisheet 42:26 So they loaded their donkeys with the grain and went from there.
B’reisheet 42:27 And as one of them opened his sack to give his donkey fodder at the lodging place, he saw his silver, for there it was in the mouth of his sack!
B’reisheet 42:28 And he said to his brothers, “My silver has been returned, and there it is, in my sack!” And their hearts sank and they were afraid, saying to each other, “What is this that Elohim has done to us?”
B’reisheet 42:29 So they came to Ya`akov̱ their father in the land of Kenaʽan and reported to him all that befell them, saying,
B’reisheet 42:30 “The man, the master of the land, spoke to us harshly, and took us for spies of the land.
B’reisheet 42:31 “But we said to him, ‘We are trustworthy, we are not spies.
B’reisheet 42:32 ‘We are twelve brothers, sons of our father. One is no more, and the youngest is today with our father in the land of Kenaʽan.’
B’reisheet 42:33 “And the man, the master of the land, said to us, ‘By this I know that you are trustworthy: Leave one of your brothers here with me, and take food for the scarcity of food of your households, and go.
B’reisheet 42:34 ‘And bring your youngest brother to me, then I know that you are not spies, but that you are trustworthy – I give your brother to you, and you move about in the land.’ ”
B’reisheet 42:35 And it came to be as they emptied their sacks, that look, the bundle of each man’s silver was in his sack! And when they and their father saw the bundles of silver, they were afraid.
B’reisheet 42:36 And Ya`akov̱ their father said to them, “You have bereaved me – Yosĕf is no more, and Shimʽon is no more, and you would take Binyamin! All this is against me.”
B’reisheet 42:37 So Re’uḇĕn spoke to his father, saying, “Take the lives of my two sons if I do not bring him back to you. Put him in my hands, and I myself bring him back to you.”
B’reisheet 42:38 But he said, “My son is not going down with you, for his brother is dead, and he is left alone. If any harm should come to him along the way in which you go, then you would bring down my grey hair with sorrow to the grave.”
B’reisheet 43:1 But the scarcity of food was severe in the land.
B’reisheet 43:2 And it came to be, when they had eaten up the grain which they had brought from Mitsrayim, that their father said to them, “Go back, buy us a little food.”
B’reisheet 43:3 But Yehuḏah spoke to him, saying, “The man vehemently warned us, saying, ‘You do not see my face unless your brother is with you.’ ”
B’reisheet 43:4 “If you let our brother go with us, we go down and buy you food.
B’reisheet 43:5 “But if you do not let him go, we do not go down, because the man said to us, ‘You do not see my face unless your brother is with you.’ ”
B’reisheet 43:6 And Yisra’ĕl said, “Why did you do evil to me to inform the man that you still had another brother?”
B’reisheet 43:7 And they said, “The man kept asking about us and our relatives, saying, ‘Is your father still alive? Have you another brother?’ And we informed him according to these words. How could we know that he would say, ‘Bring your brother down’?”
B’reisheet 43:8 And Yehuḏah said to Yisra’ĕl his father, “Send the boy with me, and let us arise and go, and live and not die, both we and you and also our little ones.
B’reisheet 43:9 “I myself shall stand guaranty for him – from my hand you are to require him. If I do not bring him back to you and set him before you, then let me bear the blame forever.
B’reisheet 43:10 “For if we had not delayed, truly by now we could have returned this second time.”
B’reisheet 43:11 And their father Yisra’ĕl said to them, “If so, then do this: Take some of the best fruit of the land in your vessels and bring a present down for the man, a little balm and a little honey, spices and myrrh, nuts and almonds.
B’reisheet 43:12 “And take double silver in your hand, and take back in your hand the silver that was returned in the mouth of your sacks. It could have been a mistake.
B’reisheet 43:13 “And take your brother, and arise, go back to the man.
B’reisheet 43:14 “And Ěl Shaddai give to you compassion before the man, so that he shall release your other brother and Binyamin. And I, if I am bereaved, I am bereaved!”
B’reisheet 43:15 And the men took that present and Binyamin, and they took double the amount of silver in their hand, and arose and went down to Mitsrayim, and stood before Yosĕf.
B’reisheet 43:16 And Yosĕf saw Binyamin with them, and said to the one over his house, “Bring the men home, and make a great slaughter, and prepare, for these men are to eat with me at noon.”
B’reisheet 43:17 And the man did as Yosĕf said, and the man brought the men into Yosĕf’s house.
B’reisheet 43:18 And the men were afraid because they were brought into Yosĕf’s house. And they said, “It is because of the silver, which was put back into our sacks the first time that we are brought in, to throw himself upon us and fall upon us, to take us as slaves, our donkeys too.”
B’reisheet 43:19 So they came near to the man over the house of Yosĕf, and spoke to him at the door of the house,
B’reisheet 43:20 and said, “O my master, we indeed came down the first time to buy food,
B’reisheet 43:21 but it came to be, when we came to the lodging place, that we opened our sacks and saw each man’s silver in the mouth of his sack, our silver in its weight. And we have brought it back in our hand.
B’reisheet 43:22 “And we have brought down other silver in our hands to buy food. We do not know who put our silver in our sacks.”
B’reisheet 43:23 But he said, “Peace be with you, do not be afraid. Your Elohim and the Elohim of your father has given you treasure in your sacks – your silver had come to me!” And he brought Shimʽon out to them.
B’reisheet 43:24 And the man brought the men into Yosĕf’s house and gave them water, and they washed their feet. And he gave their donkeys fodder.
B’reisheet 43:25 And they made the present ready for Yosĕf’s coming at noon, for they heard that they were to eat there.
B’reisheet 43:26 And when Yosĕf came home, they brought him the present which was in their hand, into the house, and bowed down before him to the earth.
B’reisheet 43:27 And he asked them about their welfare, and said, “Is your father well, the old man of whom you spoke? Is he still alive?”
B’reisheet 43:28 And they said, “Your servant our father is in good health, he is still alive.” And they bowed their heads down and did obeisance.
B’reisheet 43:29 And he lifted his eyes and saw his brother Binyamin, his mother’s son, and said, “Is this your younger brother of whom you spoke to me?” And he said, “Elohim show favor to you, my son.”
B’reisheet 43:30 And Yosĕf hurried, for his emotions were deeply moved towards his brother, and he looked for a place to weep, and went into his room and wept there.
B’reisheet 43:31 Then he washed his face and came out, and controlled himself, and said, “Serve the food.”
B’reisheet 43:32 And they set him a place by himself, and them by themselves, and the Mitsrites who ate with him by themselves, for the Mitsrites could not eat food with the Heḇrews, for that is an abomination to the Mitsrites.
B’reisheet 43:33 And they sat before him, the first-born according to his birthright and the youngest according to his youth, and the men looked at each other in astonishment.
B’reisheet 43:34 And he took portions to them from before him, but Binyamin’s portion was five times as much as any of theirs. And they feasted and they drank with him.
B’reisheet 44:1 And he commanded the one over his house, saying, “Fill the men’s sacks with food, as they are able to bear, and put each man’s silver in the mouth of his sack.
B’reisheet 44:2 “And put my cup, the silver cup, in the mouth of the sack of the youngest, and the silver for his grain.” And he did according to the word of Yosĕf which he spoke.
B’reisheet 44:3 As soon as the morning was light, the men were sent away, they and their donkeys.
B’reisheet 44:4 And when they had gone out of the city, not having gone far, Yosĕf said to the one over his house, “Rise up, follow the men, and when you overtake them, say to them, ‘Why have you repaid evil for good?
B’reisheet 44:5 ‘Is this not the one from which my master drinks, and with which he indeed divines? You have done evil in what you have done.’ ”
B’reisheet 44:6 So he overtook them and spoke these words to them.
B’reisheet 44:7 And they said to him, “Why does my master say these words? Far be it from us that your servants should do according to this word.
B’reisheet 44:8 “See, we brought back to you from the land of Kenaʽan the silver which we found in the mouth of our sacks. How then should we steal silver or gold from your master’s house?
B’reisheet 44:9 “With whomever of your servants it is found – he shall die and we shall become my master’s slaves as well.”
B’reisheet 44:10 And he said, “Now also let it be according to your words: he with whom it is found becomes my slave, and you are innocent.”
B’reisheet 44:11 And they hurried, each man let down his sack to the ground, and each opened his sack.
B’reisheet 44:12 And he searched, with the oldest first and with the youngest last, and the cup was found in Binyamin’s sack.
B’reisheet 44:13 And they tore their garments, and each man loaded his donkey and went back to the city.
B’reisheet 44:14 And Yehuḏah and his brothers came to Yosĕf’s house, and he was still there. And they fell before him on the ground.
B’reisheet 44:15 And Yosĕf said to them, “What deed is this you have done? Did you not know that a man like me indeed divines?”
B’reisheet 44:16 And Yehuḏah said, “What do we say to my master? What do we speak? Or how do we clear ourselves? Elohim has found out the crookedness of your servants. See, we are my master’s slaves, both we and he also with whom the cup was found.”
B’reisheet 44:17 But he said, “Far be it from me to do this. The man in whose hand the cup was found: he becomes my slave. And you, go up in peace to your father.”
