Mar 7:1 ויקהלו אליו הפרושים ואנשים מן־הסופרים אשר באו מירושלים׃
Mar 7:2 ויהי כראותם מתלמידיו אכלים לחם בידים טמאות כלומר בלא נטילה ויוכיחו אתם׃
Mar 7:3 כי הפרושים וכל־היהודים לא יאכלו עד־אשר נטלו את־ידיהם עד־הפרק באחזם במה־שמסרו הזקנים׃
Mar 7:4 ואת אשר מן־השוק אינם אכלים בלא טבילה ועוד דברים רבים אשר קבלו לשמר כמו טבילת כסות וכדים ויורות (ומטות)׃
Mar 7:5 וישאלו אותו הפרושים והסופרים מדוע תלמידיך אינם נהגים כפי מסרת הזקנים כי־אכלים לחם בלא נטילת ידים׃
Mar 7:6 ויען ויאמר אליהם היטב נבא ישעיהו עליכם החנפים ככתוב העם הזה בשפתיו כבדוני ולבו רחק ממני׃
Mar 7:7 ותהו יראתם אתי מצות אנשים מלמדים׃
Mar 7:8 כי עזבתם את־מצות אלהים להחזיק במסרת בני־אדם (טבילות כדים וכסות וכאלה רבות אתם עשים)׃
Mar 7:9 ויאמר אליהם יפה בטלתם את־מצות האלהים כדי שתשמרו את־המסרת שלכם׃
Mar 7:10 כי־משה אמר כבד את־אביך ואת־אמך ומקלל אביו ואמו מות יומת׃
Mar 7:11 ואתם אמרים איש כי־יאמר לאביו ולאמו קרבן פרושו מתנה לאלהים מה־שאתה נהנה לי׃
Mar 7:12 ולא תניחו לו לעשות עוד מאומה לאביו ולאמו׃
Mar 7:13 ותפרו את־דבר האלהים על־ידי קבלתכם אשר קבלתם והרבה כאלה אתם עשים׃
Mar 7:14 ויקרא אל־כל־העם ויאמר אליהם שמעו אלי כלכם והבינו׃
Mar 7:15 אין דבר מחוץ לאדם אשר יוכל לטמא אותו בבאו אל־קרבו כי אם־הדברים היוצאים ממנו המה יטמאו את־האדם׃
Mar 7:16 כל־אשר אזנים לו לשמע ישמע׃
Mar 7:17 ויהי כאשר שב הביתה מן־ההמון וישאלהו תלמידיו על־דבר המשל׃
Mar 7:18 ויאמר אליהם האף־אתם חסרי בינה הלא תשכילו כי כל־הבא אל־תוך האדם מחוצה לו לא יטמאנו׃
Mar 7:19 כי לא־יבוא בלבו כי אם־בכרשו ויצא אל־בית הכסא המנקה כל־הנאכל׃
Mar 7:20 ויאמר היצא מן־האדם הוא מטמא את־האדם׃
Mar 7:21 כי מקרב האדם מלבו יצאות המחשבות הרעות נאף וזנה ורצוח׃
Mar 7:22 וגנוב ואהבת בצע ורשעה ורמיה וזוללות ועין רעה וגדוף וזדון וסכלות׃
Mar 7:23 כל־הרעות האלה מקרב האדם הן יוצאות ומטמאות אתו׃
Mar 7:24 ויקם משם וילך לו אל־גבולות צור וצידון ובבואו הביתה לא אבה שיודע לאיש ולא יכל להסתר׃
Mar 7:25 כי אשה אשר רוח טמאה נכנסה בבתה הקטנה שמעה את־שמעו ותבא ותפל לרגליו׃
Mar 7:26 והאשה יונית וארץ מולדתה פניקיא אשר לסוריא ותבקש ממנו לגרש את־השד מבתה׃
Mar 7:27 ויאמר אליה ישוע הניחי לבנים לשבע בראשונה כי לא־טוב לקחת לחם הבנים ולהשליכו לצעירי הכלבים׃
Mar 7:28 ותען ותאמר אליו כן אדני אבל גם־צעירי הכלבים יאכלו תחת השלחן מפרורי לחם הבנים׃
Mar 7:29 ויאמר אליה בגלל דברך זה לכי־לך יצא השד מבתך׃
Mar 7:30 ותבא אל־ביתה ותמצא את־הילדה משכבת על־המטה והשד יצא ממנה׃
Mar 7:31 וישב ויצא מגבול צור וצידון ויבא אל־ים הגליל בתוך גבול עשר הערים׃
Mar 7:32 ויביאו אליו איש אשר היה חרש ואלם ויתחננו לו לשום עליו את־ידו׃
Mar 7:33 ויקח אתו לבדו מקרב ההמון וישם את־אצבעותיו באזניו וירק ויגע על־לשנו׃
Mar 7:34 ויבט השמימה ויאנח ויאמר אליו אפתח ופרושו התפתח׃
Mar 7:35 וברגע נפתחו אזניו ויתר אסור לשונו וידבר בשפה ברורה׃
Mar 7:36 ויצו עליהם שלא־יגידו לאיש וכאשר יזהירם כן ירבו להשמיע׃
Mar 7:37 וישתוממו עד־מאד ויאמרו את־הכל עשה יפה גם־החרשים הוא עשה לשמעים גם־האלמים למדברים׃
Mar 8:1 ויהי בימים ההם בהקבץ עם רב ואין להם מה־יאכלו ויקרא ישוע אל־תלמידיו ויאמר אליהם׃
Mar 8:2 נכמרו רחמי על־העם כי־זה שלשת ימים עמדו עמי ואין להם לחם לאכל׃
Mar 8:3 והיה בשלחי אותם רעבים לבתיהם יתעלפו בדרך כי־יש בהם אשר באו ממרחק׃
Mar 8:4 ויענו תלמידיו ויאמרו אליו מאין יוכל איש להשביע את־אלה לחם פה במדבר׃
Mar 8:5 וישאל אותם ויאמר כמה ככרות־לחם יש לכם ויאמרו שבע׃
Mar 8:6 ויצו את־העם לשבת לארץ ויקח את־שבע ככרות הלחם ויברך ויפרס ויתן לתלמידיו לשום לפניהם וישימו לפני העם׃
Mar 8:7 ולהם מעט דגים קטנים ויברך ויאמר לשום לפניהם גם־את־אלה׃
Mar 8:8 ויאכלו וישבעו וישאו מן־הפתותים הנותרים שבעה דודים׃
Mar 8:9 והאכלים כארבעת אלפים וישלחם׃
Mar 8:10 וירד באניה עם־תלמידיו ויבא אל־גלילות דלמנותא׃
Mar 8:11 ויצאו הפרושים ויחלו להתוכח עמו וישאלו מאתו אות מן־השמים למען נסתו׃
Mar 8:12 ויאנח ברוחו ויאמר מה־הדור הזה מבקש־לו אות אמן אמר אני לכם אם־ינתן אות לדור הזה׃
Mar 8:13 ויעל מעליהם וישב וירד באניה ויעבר אל־עבר הים׃
Mar 8:14 והם שכחו לקחת בידם לחם ולא־היה להם באניה בלתי אם־ככר־לחם אחת׃
Mar 8:15 ויזהר אותם לאמר ראו השמרו לכם משאר הפרושים ומשאר הורדוס׃
Mar 8:16 ויחשבו כה וכה ויאמרו איש אל־רעהו על כי־לחם אין אתנו׃
Mar 8:17 וידע ישוע ויאמר להם מה־תחשבו על כי־לחם אין לכם העוד לא תשכילו ולא תבינו ולבכם עודנו קשה׃
Mar 8:18 עינים לכם ולא תראו ואזנים לכם ולא תשמעו ולא תזכרו׃
Mar 8:19 כאשר פרסתי את־חמשת ככרות הלחם לחמשת אלפי איש כמה סלים מלאי פתותים נשאתם ויאמרו אליו שנים עשר׃
Mar 8:20 ובשבע לארבעת אלפי איש כמה דודים מלאי פתותים נשאתם ויאמרו אליו שבעה׃
Mar 8:21 ויאמר אליהם איך לא תבינו׃
Mar 8:22 ויבא אל־בית צידה ויביאו אליו איש עור ויתחננו לו לגעת בו׃
Mar 8:23 ויאחז ביד העור ויוליכהו אל־מחוץ לכפר וירק בעיניו וישם ידיו עליו וישאלהו ויאמר אליו הראה אתה׃
Mar 8:24 ויבט ויאמר אראה את־בני האדם כי מתהלכים כאילנות אני ראה׃
Mar 8:25 ויוסף וישם שנית ידיו על־עיניו ותפקחנה עיניו וירפא וירא הכל היטב עד־למרחוק׃
Mar 8:26 וישלחהו אל־ביתו ויאמר אל־תבא אל־תוך הכפר (ואל־תדבר לאיש בכפר)׃
Mar 8:27 ויצא ישוע ותלמידיו ללכת אל־כפרי קיסריה של־פיליפוס ויהי בדרך וישאל את־תלמידיו ויאמר אליהם מה־אמרים לי בני אדם מי־אני׃
Mar 8:28 ויענו ויאמרו יוחנן המטביל ויש אמרים אליהו ואחרים אמרים אחד מן־הנביאים׃
Mar 8:29 וישאל אתם לאמר ואתם מה־תאמרו לי מי־אני ויען פטרוס ויאמר אליו אתה הוא המשיח׃
Mar 8:30 ויעד בם לבלתי דבר־עליו לאיש׃
Mar 8:31 ויחל להורתם שצריך בן־האדם לענות הרבה והזקנים וראשי הכהנים והסופרים ימאסהו ויהרג ומקצה שלשת ימים קום יקום׃
Mar 8:32 והוא דבר את־הדבר הזה באזני כלם ויקחהו פטרוס ויחל לגער־בו׃
Mar 8:33 ויפן אחריו ויבט אל־תלמידיו ויגער בפטרוס ויאמר סור מעל פני השטן כי אין לבך לדברי האלהים כי אם־לדברי האדם׃
Mar 8:34 ויקרא אל־העם ואל־תלמידיו ויאמר אליהם החפץ ללכת אחרי יכחש בנפשו וישא את־צלובו וילך אחרי׃
Mar 8:35 כי כל־אשר יחפץ להציל את־נפשו יאבדנה וכל אשר תאבד נפשו למעני ולמען הבשורה הוא יצילנה׃
Mar 8:36 כי מה־יסכן לאדם שיקנה את־כל־העולם ונשחתה נפשו׃
Mar 8:37 או מה־יתן איש פדיון נפשו׃
Mar 8:38 כי האיש אשר־הייתי אני ודברי לו לחרפה בדור הנאף והחוטא הזה אף־הוא יהיה לחרפה לבן־האדם בבואו בכבוד אביו עם־המלאכים הקדושים׃

Mark 7-8
Mar 7:1 And the Pharisees and some of the scribes assembled to Him, having come from Yerushalayim.
Mar 7:2 And seeing some of His talmidim eat bread with defiled, that is, with unwashed hands, they found fault.
Mar 7:3 For the Pharisees, and all the Yehuḏim, do not eat unless they wash their hands thoroughly, holding fast the tradition of the elders,
Mar 7:4 and coming from the market-place, they do not eat unless they wash. And there are many other traditions which they have received and hold fast – the washing of cups and utensils and copper vessels and couches.
Mar 7:5 Then the Pharisees and scribes asked Him, “Why do Your talmidim not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashed hands?”
Mar 7:6 And He answering, said to them, “Well did Yesha’Yahu prophesy concerning you hypocrites, as it has been written, ‘This people respect Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.
Mar 7:7 And in vain do they worship Me, teaching as doctrines man-made rules.’1 Footnote: 1See Isa. 29:13, 2 Ki. 17:19, and Mt. 15:3-9.
Mar 7:8 “Forsaking the command of Elohim, you hold fast the tradition of men.”
Mar 7:9 And He said to them, “Well do you set aside the command of Elohim, in order to guard your tradition.
Mar 7:10 “For Moshe said, ‘Respect your father and your mother,’ and, ‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’
Mar 7:11 “But you say, ‘If a man says to his father or mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me, is Qorban (that is, a gift),” ’
Mar 7:12 you no longer let him do any matter at all for his father or his mother,
Mar 7:13 nullifying the Word of Elohim through your tradition which you have handed down. And many such traditions you do.”
Mar 7:14 And calling the crowd to Him, He said to them, “Hear Me, everyone, and understand:
Mar 7:15 “There is no matter that enters a man from outside which is able to defile him, but it is what comes out of him that defiles the man.
Mar 7:16 “If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!”
Mar 7:17 And when He went from the crowd into a house, His talmidim asked Him concerning the parable.
Mar 7:18 And He said to them, “Are you also without understanding? Do you not perceive that whatever enters a man from outside is unable to defile him,
Mar 7:19 because it does not enter his heart but his stomach,1 and is eliminated?” Footnote: 1Mt. 15:20.
Mar 7:20 And He said, “What comes out of a man, that defiles a man.
Mar 7:21 “For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil reasonings, adulteries, whorings, murders,
Mar 7:22 thefts, greedy desires, wickednesses, deceit, indecency, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness.
Mar 7:23 “All these wicked matters come from within and defile a man.”
Mar 7:24 And rising up from there He went to the borders of Tsor and Tsiḏon. And entering into a house He wished no one to know it, but it was impossible to be hidden.
Mar 7:25 For a woman whose young daughter had an unclean spirit heard about Him, and she came and fell at His feet.
Mar 7:26 Now the woman was a Greek, a Syro-Phoenician by birth, and she kept asking Him to cast the demon out of her daughter.
Mar 7:27 And יהושע said to her, “Let the children be satisfied first, for it is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.”1 Footnote: 1Mt. 15:27.
Mar 7:28 But she answering, said to Him, “Yea, Master, for even the little dogs under the table eat from the children’s crumbs.”
Mar 7:29 And He said to her, “Because of this word go, the demon has gone out of your daughter.”
Mar 7:30 And having come into her house, she found the demon gone out, and her daughter lying on the bed.
Mar 7:31 And again, going out from the borders of Tsor and Tsiḏon, He came to the Sea of Galil, through the midst of the borders of Dekapolis.
Mar 7:32 And they brought to Him one who was deaf and spoke with difficulty, and they begged Him to lay His hand upon him.
Mar 7:33 And taking him away from the crowd, He put His fingers in his ears, and having spit, He touched his tongue.
Mar 7:34 And looking up to the heaven, He sighed, and said to him, “Ephphatha,” that is, “Be opened.”
Mar 7:35 And immediately his ears were opened, and the binding of his tongue was loosed, and he was speaking plainly.
Mar 7:36 And He ordered them, that they should say it to no one, but the more He ordered them, the more they published it.
Mar 7:37 And they were immeasurably astonished, saying, “He has done all well. He makes even the deaf to hear and the dumb to speak.”
Mar 8:1 In those days, the crowd being very great and not having any to eat, יהושע called His talmidim near and said to them,
Mar 8:2 “I have compassion on the crowd, for they have now been with Me three days and do not have food to eat.
Mar 8:3 “And if I dismiss them unfed to their home, they shall faint on the way, for some of them have come from far.”
Mar 8:4 And His talmidim answered Him, “How shall anyone be able to feed these people with bread here in the desert?”
Mar 8:5 And He asked them, “How many loaves do you have?” And they said, “Seven.”
Mar 8:6 And He commanded the crowd to sit down on the ground. And taking the seven loaves, giving thanks, He broke them and gave them to His talmidim to set before them. And they set them before the crowd.
Mar 8:7 And they had a few small fishes. And having blessed, He said to set them also before them.
Mar 8:8 And they ate and were satisfied, and they picked up seven large baskets of broken pieces.
Mar 8:9 And those eating were about four thousand, and He dismissed them.
Mar 8:10 And immediately entering into the boat with His talmidim, He came to the parts of Dalmanutha.
Mar 8:11 And the Pharisees came out and began to dispute with Him, seeking from Him a sign from heaven, trying Him.
Mar 8:12 And sighing deeply in His spirit He said, “Why does this generation seek a sign? Truly, I say to you, no sign shall be given to this generation.”
Mar 8:13 And leaving them, again entering into the boat, He went away to the other side.
Mar 8:14 And they had forgotten to take bread, and they did not have more than one loaf with them in the boat.
Mar 8:15 And He was warning them, saying, “Mind! Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the leaven of Herodes.”
Mar 8:16 And they were reasoning with one another, saying, “Because we have no bread.”
Mar 8:17 And יהושע, being aware of it, said to them, “Why do you reason because you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive nor understand? Is your heart still hardened?
Mar 8:18 “Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember?
Mar 8:19 “When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets filled with broken pieces did you pick up?” They said to Him, “Twelve.”
Mar 8:20 “And when I broke the seven for the four thousand, how many large baskets filled with broken pieces did you pick up?” And they said, “Seven.”
Mar 8:21 And He said to them, “How do you not understand?”
Mar 8:22 And He came to Bĕyth Tsaiḏa, and they brought a blind man to Him, and begged Him to touch him.
Mar 8:23 And taking the blind man by the hand He led him out of the village. And having spit on his eyes, laying hands on him, He asked him, “Do you see at all?”
Mar 8:24 And he looked up and said, “I see men like trees, walking.”
Mar 8:25 Then He placed His hands on his eyes again and made him look up. And he was restored, and saw all clearly.
Mar 8:26 And He sent him away to his home, saying, “Do not go into the village.”
Mar 8:27 And יהושע and His talmidim went out to the villages of Caesarea Philippi. And on the way He asked His talmidim, saying to them, “Who do men say I am?”
Mar 8:28 And they said to Him, “Yochanan the Immerser, and others, Ěliyahu, but others, one of the nevi’im.”
Mar 8:29 And He asked them, “And you, who do you say I am?” And Kĕpha answering, said to Him, “You are the Mashiach.”
Mar 8:30 And He warned them that they should speak to no one about Him.
Mar 8:31 And He began to teach them that the Son of Aḏam has to suffer much, and be rejected by the elders and chief kohanim and Torah-teachers, and be killed, and after three days to rise again.
Mar 8:32 And He was speaking about this openly. Then Kĕpha, taking Him aside, began to rebuke Him.
Mar 8:33 And turning around and seeing His talmidim, He rebuked Kĕpha, saying, “Get behind Me, Satan! For your thoughts are not those of Elohim, but those of men.”
Mar 8:34 And calling near the crowd with His talmidim, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his stake, and follow Me.
Mar 8:35 “For whoever desires to save his life shall lose it, but whoever loses his life for the sake of Me and the Good News, he shall save it.
Mar 8:36 “For what shall it profit a man if he gains all the world, and loses his own life?
Mar 8:37 “Or what shall a man give in exchange for his life?
Mar 8:38 “For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinning generation, of him the Son of Aḏam also shall be ashamed when He comes in the esteem of His Father with the kadosh messengers.”

Mar 8:11 And the Pharisees came out and began to dispute with Him, seeking from Him a sign from heaven, trying Him.
Mar 8:12 And sighing deeply in His spirit He said, “Why does this generation seek a sign? Truly, I say to you, no sign shall be given to this generation.”
Mar 8:13 And leaving them, again entering into the boat, He went away to the other side.
Mar 8:14 And they had forgotten to take bread, and they did not have more than one loaf with them in the boat.
Mar 8:15 And He was warning them, saying, “Mind! Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the leaven of Herodes.”
Mar 8:16 And they were reasoning with one another, saying, “Because we have no bread.”
Mar 8:17 And יהושע, being aware of it, said to them, “Why do you reason because you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive nor understand? Is your heart still hardened?
Mar 8:18 “Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember?
Mar 8:19 “When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets filled with broken pieces did you pick up?” They said to Him, “Twelve.”
Mar 8:20 “And when I broke the seven for the four thousand, how many large baskets filled with broken pieces did you pick up?” And they said, “Seven.”
Mar 8:21 And He said to them, “How do you not understand?”
Mar 8:22 And He came to Bĕyth Tsaiḏa, and they brought a blind man to Him, and begged Him to touch him.
Mar 8:23 And taking the blind man by the hand He led him out of the village. And having spit on his eyes, laying hands on him, He asked him, “Do you see at all?”
Mar 8:24 And he looked up and said, “I see men like trees, walking.”
Mar 8:25 Then He placed His hands on his eyes again and made him look up. And he was restored, and saw all clearly.
Mar 8:26 And He sent him away to his home, saying, “Do not go into the village.”
Mar 8:27 And יהושע and His talmidim went out to the villages of Caesarea Philippi. And on the way He asked His talmidim, saying to them, “Who do men say I am?”
Mar 8:28 And they said to Him, “Yochanan the Immerser, and others, Ěliyahu, but others, one of the nevi’im.”
Mar 8:29 And He asked them, “And you, who do you say I am?” And Kĕpha answering, said to Him, “You are the Mashiach.”
Mar 8:30 And He warned them that they should speak to no one about Him.
Mar 8:31 And He began to teach them that the Son of Aḏam has to suffer much, and be rejected by the elders and chief kohanim and Torah-teachers, and be killed, and after three days to rise again.
Mar 8:32 And He was speaking about this openly. Then Kĕpha, taking Him aside, began to rebuke Him.
Mar 8:33 And turning around and seeing His talmidim, He rebuked Kĕpha, saying, “Get behind Me, Satan! For your thoughts are not those of Elohim, but those of men.”
Mar 8:34 And calling near the crowd with His talmidim, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his stake, and follow Me.
Mar 8:35 “For whoever desires to save his life shall lose it, but whoever loses his life for the sake of Me and the Good News, he shall save it.
Mar 8:36 “For what shall it profit a man if he gains all the world, and loses his own life?
Mar 8:37 “Or what shall a man give in exchange for his life?
Mar 8:38 “For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinning generation, of him the Son of Aḏam also shall be ashamed when He comes in the esteem of His Father with the kadosh messengers.”

Yesha’Yahu 6:1 In the year that Melech Uzziyahu died, I saw יהוה sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the Hĕḵal.
Yesha’Yahu 6:2 Above it stood seraphim. Each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.
Yesha’Yahu 6:3 And one cried to another and said, “Kadosh, kadosh, kadosh is יהוה of hosts; all the earth is filled with His esteem!”
Yesha’Yahu 6:4 And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke.
Yesha’Yahu 6:5 And I said, “Woe to me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips – for my eyes have seen the Melech, יהוה of hosts.”
Yesha’Yahu 6:6 And one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar.
Yesha’Yahu 6:7 And he touched my mouth with it, and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your crookedness is taken away, and your sin is covered.”
Yesha’Yahu 6:8 And I heard the voice of יהוה, saying, “Whom do I send, and who would go for Us?” And I said, “Here am I! Send me.”
Yesha’Yahu 6:9 And He said, “Go, and you shall say to this people, ‘Hearing, you hear, but do not understand; and seeing, you see, but do not know.’
Yesha’Yahu 6:10 “Make the heart of this people fat, and their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and shall turn and be healed.”
Yesha’Yahu 6:11 Then I said, “יהוה, until when?” And He answered, “Until the cities are laid waste and without inhabitant, and the houses are without a man, and the land is laid waste, a ruin,
Yesha’Yahu 6:12 and יהוה has removed men far away, and the forsaken places be many in the midst of the land.
Yesha’Yahu 6:13 “But still, there is a tenth part in it, and it shall again be for a burning, like a terebinth tree and like an oak, whose stump remains when it is cut down. The kadosh seed is its stump!”
Yesha’Yahu 7:1 And it came to be in the days of Aḥaz son of Yotham, son of Uzziyahu, sovereign of Yehuḏah, that Retsin sovereign of Aram and Peqaḥ son of Remalyahu, Melech of Yisra’ĕl, went up to Yerushalayim to fight against it, but could not prevail against it.
Yesha’Yahu 7:2 And it was reported to the house of Dawiḏ, saying, “Aram has set up camp in Ephrayim.” And his heart and the heart of his people were moved as the trees of the forest are moved with the wind.
Yesha’Yahu 7:3 And יהוה said to Yesha’Yahu, “Go out now to meet Aḥaz, you and She’ar-Yashuḇ your son, at the end of the channel of the upper pool, on the highway of the Launderer’s Field,
Yesha’Yahu 7:4 and say to him, ‘Take heed, and be calm; do not fear or be faint-hearted for these two stubs of smoking firebrands, for the fierce displeasure of Retsin and Aram, and the son of Remalyahu.
Yesha’Yahu 7:5 ‘Because Aram, Ephrayim, and the son of Remalyahu have plotted evil against you, saying,
Yesha’Yahu 7:6 “Let us go up against Yehuḏah and tear it apart, and break it open for ourselves, and set a sovereign over them, the son of Taḇe’ĕl.”
Yesha’Yahu 9:6 For a Child shall be born unto us, a Son shall be given unto us, and the rule is on His shoulder. And His Name is called Wonder, Counselor, Mighty Ěl, Father of Continuity, Prince of Peace. (Pele-Yo`etz El Gibbor Avi-`Ad Sar-Shalom)

Shemot 18:2 ויקח יתרו חתן משׁה את־צפרה אשׁת משׁה אחר שׁלוחיה׃
Shemot 18:3 ואת שׁני בניה אשׁר שׁם האחד גרשׁם כי אמר גר הייתי בארץ נכריה׃
Shemot 18:4 ושׁם האחד אליעזר כי־אלהי אבי בעזרי ויצלני מחרב פרעה׃

Shemot 19:3 ומשׁה עלה אל־האלהים ויקרא אליו יהוה מן־ההר לאמר כה תאמר לבית יעקב ותגיד לבני ישׂראל׃
Shemot 19:4 אתם ראיתם אשׁר עשׂיתי למצרים ואשׂא אתכם על־כנפי נשׁרים ואבא אתכם אלי׃
Shemot 19:5 ועתה אם־שׁמוע תשׁמעו בקלי ושׁמרתם את־בריתי והייתם לי סגלה מכל־העמים כי־לי כל־הארץ׃
Shemot 19:6 ואתם תהיו־לי ממלכת כהנים וגוי קדושׁ אלה הדברים אשׁר תדבר אל־בני ישׂראל׃
Shemot 19:7 ויבא משׁה ויקרא לזקני העם וישׂם לפניהם את כל־הדברים האלה אשׁר צוהו יהוה׃
Shemot 19:8 ויענו כל־העם יחדו ויאמרו כל אשׁר־דבר יהוה נעשׂה וישׁב משׁה את־דברי העם אל־יהוה׃
Shemot 19:9 ויאמר יהוה אל־משׁה הנה אנכי בא אליך בעב הענן בעבור ישׁמע העם בדברי עמך וגם־בך יאמינו לעולם ויגד משׁה את־דברי העם אל־יהוה׃
Shemot 19:10 ויאמר יהוה אל־משׁה לך אל־העם וקדשׁתם היום ומחר וכבסו שׂמלתם׃
Shemot 19:11 והיו נכנים ליום השׁלישׁי כי ביום השׁלשׁי ירד יהוה לעיני כל־העם על־הר סיני׃
Shemot 19:12 והגבלת את־העם סביב לאמר השׁמרו לכם עלות בהר ונגע בקצהו כל־הנגע בהר מות יומת׃
Shemot 19:13 לא־תגע בו יד כי־סקול יסקל או־ירה יירה אם־בהמה אם־אישׁ לא יחיה במשׁך היבל המה יעלו בהר׃
Shemot 19:14 וירד משׁה מן־ההר אל־העם ויקדשׁ את־העם ויכבסו שׂמלתם׃
Shemot 19:15 ויאמר אל־העם היו נכנים לשׁלשׁת ימים אל־תגשׁו אל־אשׁה׃
Shemot 19:16 ויהי ביום השׁלישׁי בהית הבקר ויהי קלת וברקים וענן כבד על־ההר וקל שׁפר חזק מאד ויחרד כל־העם אשׁר במחנה׃
Shemot 19:17 ויוצא משׁה את־העם לקראת האלהים מן־המחנה ויתיצבו בתחתית ההר׃
Shemot 19:18 והר סיני עשׁן כלו מפני אשׁר ירד עליו יהוה באשׁ ויעל עשׁנו כעשׁן הכבשׁן ויחרד כל־ההר מאד׃
Shemot 19:19 ויהי קול השׁפר הולך וחזק מאד משׁה ידבר והאלהים יעננו בקול׃
Shemot 19:20 וירד יהוה על־הר סיני אל־ראשׁ ההר ויקרא יהוה למשׁה אל־ראשׁ ההר ויעל משׁה׃
Shemot 19:21 ויאמר יהוה אל־משׁה רד העד בעם פן־יהרסו אל־יהוה לראות ונפל ממנו רב׃
Shemot 19:22 וגם הכהנים הנגשׁים אל־יהוה יתקדשׁו פן־יפרץ בהם יהוה׃
Shemot 19:23 ויאמר משׁה אל־יהוה לא־יוכל העם לעלת אל־הר סיני כי־אתה העדתה בנו לאמר הגבל את־ההר וקדשׁתו׃
Shemot 19:24 ויאמר אליו יהוה לך־רד ועלית אתה ואהרן עמך והכהנים והעם אל־יהרסו לעלת אל־יהוה פן־יפרץ־בם׃
Shemot 19:25 וירד משׁה אל־העם ויאמר אלהם׃
Shemot 20:1 וידבר אלהים את כל־הדברים האלה לאמר׃
Shemot 20:2 אנכי יהוה אלהיך אשׁר הוצאתיך מארץ מצרים מבית עבדים׃
Shemot 20:3 לא יהיה־לך אלהים אחרים על־פני׃
Shemot 20:4 לא תעשׂה־לך פסל וכל־תמונה אשׁר בשׁמים ממעל ואשׁר בארץ מתחת ואשׁר במים מתחת לארץ׃
Shemot 20:5 לא־תשׁתחוה להם ולא תעבדם כי אנכי יהוה אלהיך אל קנא פקד עון אבת על־בנים על־שׁלשׁים ועל־רבעים לשׂנאי׃
Shemot 20:6 ועשׂה חסד לאלפים לאהבי ולשׁמרי מצותי׃
Shemot 20:7 לא תשׂא את־שׁם־יהוה אלהיך לשׁוא כי לא ינקה יהוה את אשׁר־ישׂא את־שׁמו לשׁוא׃
Shemot 20:8 זכור את־יום השׁבת לקדשׁו׃
Shemot 20:9 שׁשׁת ימים תעבד ועשׂית כל־מלאכתך׃
Shemot 20:10 ויום השׁביעי שׁבת ליהוה אלהיך לא־תעשׂה כל־מלאכה אתה ובנך־ובתך עבדך ואמתך ובהמתך וגרך אשׁר בשׁעריך׃
Shemot 20:11 כי שׁשׁת־ימים עשׂה יהוה את־השׁמים ואת־הארץ את־הים ואת־כל־אשׁר־בם וינח ביום השׁביעי על־כן ברך יהוה את־יום השׁבת ויקדשׁהו׃
Shemot 20:12 כבד את־אביך ואת־אמך למען יארכון ימיך על האדמה אשׁר־יהוה אלהיך נתן לך׃
Shemot 20:13 לא תרצח׃
Shemot 20:14 לא תנאף׃
Shemot 20:15 לא תגנב׃
Shemot 20:16 לא־תענה ברעך עד שׁקר׃
Shemot 20:17 לא תחמד בית רעך לא־תחמד אשׁת רעך ועבדו ואמתו ושׁורו וחמרו וכל אשׁר לרעך׃
Shemot 20:18 וכל־העם ראים את־הקולת ואת־הלפידם ואת קול השׁפר ואת־ההר עשׁן וירא העם וינעו ויעמדו מרחק׃
Shemot 20:19 ויאמרו אל־משׁה דבר־אתה עמנו ונשׁמעה ואל־ידבר עמנו אלהים פן־נמות׃
Shemot 20:20 ויאמר משׁה אל־העם אל־תיראו כי לבעבור נסות אתכם בא האלהים ובעבור תהיה יראתו על־פניכם לבלתי תחטאו׃
Shemot 20:21 ויעמד העם מרחק ומשׁה נגשׁ אל־הערפל אשׁר־שׁם האלהים׃
Shemot 20:22 ויאמר יהוה אל־משׁה כה תאמר אל־בני ישׂראל אתם ראיתם כי מן־השׁמים דברתי עמכם׃
Shemot 20:23 לא תעשׂון אתי אלהי כסף ואלהי זהב לא תעשׂו לכם׃
Shemot 20:24 מזבח אדמה תעשׂה־לי וזבחת עליו את־עלתיך ואת־שׁלמיך את־צאנך ואת־בקרך בכל־המקום אשׁר אזכיר את־שׁמי אבוא אליך וברכתיך׃
Shemot 20:25 ואם־מזבח אבנים תעשׂה־לי לא־תבנה אתהן גזית כי חרבך הנפת עליה ותחללה׃
Shemot 20:26 ולא־תעלה במעלת על־מזבחי אשׁר לא־תגלה ערותך עליו׃
Shemot 18:1 וישׁמע יתרו כהן מדין חתן משׁה את כל־אשׁר עשׂה אלהים למשׁה ולישׂראל עמו כי־הוציא יהוה את־ישׂראל ממצרים׃
Shemot 18:2 ויקח יתרו חתן משׁה את־צפרה אשׁת משׁה אחר שׁלוחיה׃
Shemot 18:3 ואת שׁני בניה אשׁר שׁם האחד גרשׁם כי אמר גר הייתי בארץ נכריה׃
Shemot 18:4 ושׁם האחד אליעזר כי־אלהי אבי בעזרי ויצלני מחרב פרעה׃
Shemot 18:5 ויבא יתרו חתן משׁה ובניו ואשׁתו אל־משׁה אל־המדבר אשׁר־הוא חנה שׁם הר האלהים׃
Shemot 18:6 ויאמר אל־משׁה אני חתנך יתרו בא אליך ואשׁתך ושׁני בניה עמה׃
Shemot 18:7 ויצא משׁה לקראת חתנו וישׁתחו וישׁק־לו וישׁאלו אישׁ־לרעהו לשׁלום ויבאו האהלה׃
Shemot 18:8 ויספר משׁה לחתנו את כל־אשׁר עשׂה יהוה לפרעה ולמצרים על אודת ישׂראל את כל־התלאה אשׁר מצאתם בדרך ויצלם יהוה׃
Shemot 18:9 ויחד יתרו על כל־הטובה אשׁר־עשׂה יהוה לישׂראל אשׁר הצילו מיד מצרים׃
Shemot 18:10 ויאמר יתרו ברוך יהוה אשׁר הציל אתכם מיד מצרים ומיד פרעה אשׁר הציל את־העם מתחת יד־מצרים׃
Shemot 18:11 עתה ידעתי כי־גדול יהוה מכל־האלהים כי בדבר אשׁר זדו עליהם׃
Shemot 18:12 ויקח יתרו חתן משׁה עלה וזבחים לאלהים ויבא אהרן וכל זקני ישׂראל לאכל־לחם עם־חתן משׁה לפני האלהים׃
Shemot 18:13 ויהי ממחרת וישׁב משׁה לשׁפט את־העם ויעמד העם על־משׁה מן־הבקר עד־הערב׃
Shemot 18:14 וירא חתן משׁה את כל־אשׁר־הוא עשׂה לעם ויאמר מה־הדבר הזה אשׁר אתה עשׂה לעם מדוע אתה יושׁב לבדך וכל־העם נצב עליך מן־בקר עד־ערב׃
Shemot 18:15 ויאמר משׁה לחתנו כי־יבא אלי העם לדרשׁ אלהים׃
Shemot 18:16 כי־יהיה להם דבר בא אלי ושׁפטתי בין אישׁ ובין רעהו והודעתי את־חקי האלהים ואת־תורתיו׃
Shemot 18:17 ויאמר חתן משׁה אליו לא־טוב הדבר אשׁר אתה עשׂה׃
Shemot 18:18 נבל תבל גם־אתה גם־העם הזה אשׁר עמך כי־כבד ממך הדבר לא־תוכל עשׂהו לבדך׃
Shemot 18:19 עתה שׁמע בקלי איעצך ויהי אלהים עמך היה אתה לעם מול האלהים והבאת אתה את־הדברים אל־האלהים׃
Shemot 18:20 והזהרתה אתהם את־החקים ואת־התורת והודעת להם את־הדרך ילכו בה ואת־המעשׂה אשׁר יעשׂון׃
Shemot 18:21 ואתה תחזה מכל־העם אנשׁי־חיל יראי אלהים אנשׁי אמת שׂנאי בצע ושׂמת עלהם שׂרי אלפים שׂרי מאות שׂרי חמשׁים ושׂרי עשׂרת׃
Shemot 18:22 ושׁפטו את־העם בכל־עת והיה כל־הדבר הגדל יביאו אליך וכל־הדבר הקטן ישׁפטו־הם והקל מעליך ונשׂאו אתך׃
Shemot 18:23 אם את־הדבר הזה תעשׂה וצוך אלהים ויכלת עמד וגם כל־העם הזה על־מקמו יבא בשׁלום׃
Shemot 18:24 וישׁמע משׁה לקול חתנו ויעשׂ כל אשׁר אמר׃
Shemot 18:25 ויבחר משׁה אנשׁי־חיל מכל־ישׂראל ויתן אתם ראשׁים על־העם שׂרי אלפים שׂרי מאות שׂרי חמשׁים ושׂרי עשׂרת׃
Shemot 18:26 ושׁפטו את־העם בכל־עת את־הדבר הקשׁה יביאון אל־משׁה וכל־הדבר הקטן ישׁפוטו הם׃
Shemot 18:27 וישׁלח משׁה את־חתנו וילך לו אל־ארצו׃
Shemot 19:1 בחדשׁ השׁלישׁי לצאת בני־ישׂראל מארץ מצרים ביום הזה באו מדבר סיני׃
Shemot 19:2 ויסעו מרפידים ויבאו מדבר סיני ויחנו במדבר ויחן־שׁם ישׂראל נגד ההר׃
Shemot 19:3 ומשׁה עלה אל־האלהים ויקרא אליו יהוה מן־ההר לאמר כה תאמר לבית יעקב ותגיד לבני ישׂראל׃

Shemot 18:1 And Yitro, the priest of Miḏyan, Moshe’s father-in-law, heard of all that Elohim had done for Moshe and for Yisra’ĕl His people, that יהוה had brought Yisra’ĕl out of Mitsrayim.
Shemot 18:2 And Yitro, Moshe’s father-in-law, took Tsipporah, the wife of Moshe – after he had sent her back,
Shemot 18:3 and her two sons, of whom the name of one was Gĕreshom, for he said, “I have been a sojourner in a foreign land,”
Shemot 18:4 and the name of the other was Eliʽezer, for he said, “The Elohim of my father was my help, and delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh.”
Shemot 18:5 Yitro, Moshe’s father-in-law, came with his sons and his wife to Moshe in the wilderness, where he was encamped at the mountain of Elohim.
Shemot 18:6 And he had said to Moshe, “I, your father-in-law Yitro, am coming to you with your wife and her two sons with her.”
Shemot 18:7 And Moshe went out to meet his father-in-law, and bowed down, and kissed him. And they asked each other about their welfare, and they went into the tent.
Shemot 18:8 And Moshe told his father-in-law all that יהוה had done to Pharaoh and to the Mitsrites for Yisra’ĕl’s sake, all the hardship that had come upon them on the way, and how יהוה had delivered them.
Shemot 18:9 And Yitro rejoiced for all the good which יהוה had done for Yisra’ĕl, whom He had delivered out of the hand of the Mitsrites.
Shemot 18:10 And Yitro said, “Blessed be יהוה, who has delivered you out of the hand of the Mitsrites and out of the hand of Pharaoh, and who has delivered the people from under the hand of the Mitsrites.
Shemot 18:11 “Now I know that יהוה is greater than all the elohim, indeed in the matter in which they acted proudly, above them.”
Shemot 18:12 Then Yitro, the father-in-law of Moshe, brought a burnt offering and other slaughterings unto Elohim. And Aharon came with all the elders of Yisra’ĕl to eat bread with the father-in-law of Moshe before Elohim.
Shemot 18:13 And it came to be, on the next day, that Moshe sat to rightly rule the people. And the people stood before Moshe from morning until evening.
Shemot 18:14 And when the father-in-law of Moshe saw all that he did for the people, he said, “What is this that you are doing for the people? Why do you sit by yourself, and all the people stand before you from morning until evening?”
Shemot 18:15 And Moshe said to his father-in-law, “Because the people come to me to seek Elohim.
Shemot 18:16 “When they have a matter, they come to me, and I rightly rule between one and another, and make known the laws of Elohim and His Torot.”
Shemot 18:17 And the father-in-law of Moshe said to him, “What you are doing is not good.
Shemot 18:18 “Both you and these people with you shall certainly wear yourselves out. For the matter is too heavy for you. You are not able to do it by yourself.
Shemot 18:19 “Now listen to my voice. Let me counsel you and Elohim be with you: Stand before Elohim for the people, and you shall bring the matters to Elohim.
Shemot 18:20 “And you shall enlighten them concerning the laws and the Torot, and show them the way in which they should walk and the work which they do.
Shemot 18:21 “But you yourself, seek out from all the people able men, who fear Elohim, men of truth, hating unfair gain. And place these over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.
Shemot 18:22 “And they shall rightly rule the people at all times. And it shall be that they bring every great matter to you, but they themselves rightly rule every small matter. So, make it lighter for yourself, for they shall bear with you.
Shemot 18:23 “If you do this word, and Elohim shall command you, then you shall be able to stand and all this people also go to their place in peace.”
Shemot 18:24 And Moshe listened to the voice of his father-in-law and did all that he said.
Shemot 18:25 And Moshe chose able men out of all Yisra’ĕl, and made them heads over the people: rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.
Shemot 18:26 And they rightly ruled the people at all times – the hard matters they brought to Moshe, but they rightly ruled every small matter themselves.
Shemot 18:27 And Moshe sent off his father-in-law, and he went away to his own land.
Shemot 19:1 In the third month after the children of Yisra’ĕl had come out of the land of Mitsrayim, on this day they came to the Wilderness of Sinai.
Shemot 19:2 For they set out from Rephiḏim, and had come to the Wilderness of Sinai, and camped in the wilderness. So Yisra’ĕl camped there before the mountain.
Shemot 19:3 And Moshe went up to Elohim, and יהוה called to him from the mountain, saying, “This is what you are to say to the house of Ya`akov̱, and declare to the children of Yisra’ĕl:
Shemot 19:4 ‘You have seen what I did to the Mitsrites, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself.
Shemot 19:5 ‘And now, if you diligently obey My voice, and shall guard My covenant, then you shall be My treasured possession above all the peoples – for all the earth is Mine –
Shemot 19:6 ‘and you shall be to Me a reign of kohanim and a kadosh nation.’ Those are the words which you are to speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl.”
Shemot 19:7 And Moshe came and called for the elders of the people, and set before them all these words which יהוה commanded him.
Shemot 19:8 And all the people answered together and said, “All that יהוה has spoken we shall do.” So Moshe brought back the words of the people to יהוה.
Shemot 19:9 And יהוה said to Moshe, “See, I am coming to you in the thick cloud, so that the people hear when I speak with you, and believe you forever.” And Moshe reported the words of the people to יהוה.
Shemot 19:10 And יהוה said to Moshe, “Go to the people and set them apart today and tomorrow. And they shall wash their garments,
Shemot 19:11 and shall be prepared by the third day. For on the third day יהוה shall come down upon Har Sinai before the eyes of all the people.
Shemot 19:12 “And you shall make a border for the people all around, saying, ‘Take heed to yourselves that you do not go up to the mountain or touch the border of it. Whoever touches the mountain shall certainly be put to death.
Shemot 19:13 ‘Not a hand is to touch it, but he shall certainly be stoned or shot with an arrow, whether man or beast, he shall not live.’ When the trumpet sounds long, let them come near the mountain.”
Shemot 19:14 And Moshe came down from the mountain to the people and set the people apart, and they washed their garments.
Shemot 19:15 And he said to the people, “Be prepared by the third day. Do not come near a wife.”
Shemot 19:16 And it came to be, on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain. And the sound of the ram’s horn was very loud, and all the people who were in the camp trembled.
Shemot 19:17 And Moshe brought the people out of the camp to meet with Elohim, and they stood at the foot of the mountain.
Shemot 19:18 And Har Sinai was in smoke, all of it, because יהוה descended upon it in fire. And its smoke went up like the smoke of a furnace, and all the mountain trembled exceedingly.
Shemot 19:19 And when the blast of the ram’s horn sounded long and became louder and louder, Moshe spoke, and Elohim answered him by voice.
Shemot 19:20 And יהוה came down upon Har Sinai, on the top of the mountain. And יהוה called Moshe to the top of the mountain, and Moshe went up.
Shemot 19:21 And יהוה said to Moshe, “Go down, and warn the people, lest they break through unto יהוה to see, and many of them fall.
Shemot 19:22 “And let the kohanim who come near יהוה set themselves apart too, lest יהוה break out against them.”
Shemot 19:23 And Moshe said to יהוה, “The people are not able to come up to Har Sinai, for You warned us, saying, ‘Make a border around the mountain and set it apart.’ ”
Shemot 19:24 And יהוה said to him, “Come, go down and then come up, you and Aharon with you. But do not let the kohanim and the people break through to come up to יהוה, lest He break out against them.”
Shemot 19:25 And Moshe went down to the people and spoke to them.
Shemot 20:1 And Elohim spoke all these Words, saying,
Shemot 20:2 א “I am יהוה your Elohim, who brought you out of the land of Mitsrayim, out of the house of slavery.
Shemot 20:3 ב “You have no other elohim against My face.
Shemot 20:4 “You do not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of that which is in the heavens above, or which is in the earth beneath, or which is in the waters under the earth,
Shemot 20:5 you do not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, יהוה your Elohim am a jealous Ěl, visiting the crookedness of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,
Shemot 20:6 but showing kindness to thousands, to those who love Me and guard My mitzvot.
Shemot 20:7 ג “You do not bring1 the Name of יהוה your Elohim to naught, for יהוה does not leave the one unpunished who brings His Name to naught. Footnote: 1Or lift up, or take.
Shemot 20:8 ד “Remember the Shabbat, to keep it kadosh.
Shemot 20:9 “Six days you labor, and shall do all your work,
Shemot 20:10 but the seventh day is the Shabbat1 of יהוה your Elohim. You do not do any work – you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male slave, nor your female slave, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. Footnote: 1There are other Sabbaths, but this is the weekly Sabbath.
Shemot 20:11 “For in six days יהוה made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore יהוה blessed the Shabbat and made it kadosh.
Shemot 20:12 ה “Respect your father and your mother, so that your days are prolonged upon the soil which יהוה your Elohim is giving you.
Shemot 20:13 ו “You do not murder.
Shemot 20:14 ז “You do not commit adultery.
Shemot 20:15 ח “You do not steal.
Shemot 20:16 ט “You do not bear false witness against your neighbor.
Shemot 20:17 י “You do not covet your neighbor’s house, you do not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male slave, nor his female slave, nor his ox, nor his donkey, or whatever belongs to your neighbor.”
Shemot 20:18 And all the people saw the thunders, the lightning flashes, the sound of the ram’s horn, and the mountain smoking. And the people saw it, and they trembled and stood at a distance,
Shemot 20:19 and said to Moshe, “You speak with us and we hear, but let not Elohim speak with us, lest we die.”
Shemot 20:20 And Moshe said to the people, “Do not fear, for Elohim has come to prove you, and in order that His fear be before you, so that you do not sin.”
Shemot 20:21 So the people stood at a distance, but Moshe drew near the thick darkness where Elohim was.
Shemot 20:22 And יהוה said to Moshe, “Say this to the children of Yisra’ĕl: ‘You yourselves have seen that I have spoken to you from the heavens.
Shemot 20:23 ‘You do not make besides Me elohim of silver, and you do not make elohim of gold for yourselves.
Shemot 20:24 ‘Make an altar of earth for Me, and you shall slaughter on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your cattle. In every place where I cause My Name to be remembered I shall come to you and bless you.
Shemot 20:25 ‘And if you make Me an altar of stone, do not build it of cut stone, for if you use your chisel on it, you have profaned it.
Shemot 20:26 ‘Nor do you go up by steps to My altar, lest your nakedness be exposed on it.’
Shemot 18:1 And Yitro, the priest of Miḏyan, Moshe’s father-in-law, heard of all that Elohim had done for Moshe and for Yisra’ĕl His people, that יהוה had brought Yisra’ĕl out of Mitsrayim.
Shemot 18:2 And Yitro, Moshe’s father-in-law, took Tsipporah, the wife of Moshe – after he had sent her back,
Shemot 18:3 and her two sons, of whom the name of one was Gĕreshom, for he said, “I have been a sojourner in a foreign land,”
Shemot 18:4 and the name of the other was Eliʽezer, for he said, “The Elohim of my father was my help, and delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh.”
Shemot 18:5 Yitro, Moshe’s father-in-law, came with his sons and his wife to Moshe in the wilderness, where he was encamped at the mountain of Elohim.
Shemot 18:6 And he had said to Moshe, “I, your father-in-law Yitro, am coming to you with your wife and her two sons with her.”
Shemot 18:7 And Moshe went out to meet his father-in-law, and bowed down, and kissed him. And they asked each other about their welfare, and they went into the tent.
Shemot 18:8 And Moshe told his father-in-law all that יהוה had done to Pharaoh and to the Mitsrites for Yisra’ĕl’s sake, all the hardship that had come upon them on the way, and how יהוה had delivered them.
Shemot 18:9 And Yitro rejoiced for all the good which יהוה had done for Yisra’ĕl, whom He had delivered out of the hand of the Mitsrites.
Shemot 18:10 And Yitro said, “Blessed be יהוה, who has delivered you out of the hand of the Mitsrites and out of the hand of Pharaoh, and who has delivered the people from under the hand of the Mitsrites.
Shemot 18:11 “Now I know that יהוה is greater than all the elohim, indeed in the matter in which they acted proudly, above them.”
Shemot 18:12 Then Yitro, the father-in-law of Moshe, brought a burnt offering and other slaughterings unto Elohim. And Aharon came with all the elders of Yisra’ĕl to eat bread with the father-in-law of Moshe before Elohim.
Shemot 18:13 And it came to be, on the next day, that Moshe sat to rightly rule the people. And the people stood before Moshe from morning until evening.
Shemot 18:14 And when the father-in-law of Moshe saw all that he did for the people, he said, “What is this that you are doing for the people? Why do you sit by yourself, and all the people stand before you from morning until evening?”
Shemot 18:15 And Moshe said to his father-in-law, “Because the people come to me to seek Elohim.
Shemot 18:16 “When they have a matter, they come to me, and I rightly rule between one and another, and make known the laws of Elohim and His Torot.”
Shemot 18:17 And the father-in-law of Moshe said to him, “What you are doing is not good.
Shemot 18:18 “Both you and these people with you shall certainly wear yourselves out. For the matter is too heavy for you. You are not able to do it by yourself.
Shemot 18:19 “Now listen to my voice. Let me counsel you and Elohim be with you: Stand before Elohim for the people, and you shall bring the matters to Elohim.
Shemot 18:20 “And you shall enlighten them concerning the laws and the Torot, and show them the way in which they should walk and the work which they do.
Shemot 18:21 “But you yourself, seek out from all the people able men, who fear Elohim, men of truth, hating unfair gain. And place these over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.
Shemot 18:22 “And they shall rightly rule the people at all times. And it shall be that they bring every great matter to you, but they themselves rightly rule every small matter. So, make it lighter for yourself, for they shall bear with you.
Shemot 18:23 “If you do this word, and Elohim shall command you, then you shall be able to stand and all this people also go to their place in peace.”
Shemot 18:24 And Moshe listened to the voice of his father-in-law and did all that he said.
Shemot 18:25 And Moshe chose able men out of all Yisra’ĕl, and made them heads over the people: rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.
Shemot 18:26 And they rightly ruled the people at all times – the hard matters they brought to Moshe, but they rightly ruled every small matter themselves.
Shemot 18:27 And Moshe sent off his father-in-law, and he went away to his own land.
Shemot 19:1 In the third month after the children of Yisra’ĕl had come out of the land of Mitsrayim, on this day they came to the Wilderness of Sinai.
Shemot 19:2 For they set out from Rephiḏim, and had come to the Wilderness of Sinai, and camped in the wilderness. So Yisra’ĕl camped there before the mountain.
Shemot 19:3 And Moshe went up to Elohim, and יהוה called to him from the mountain, saying, “This is what you are to say to the house of Ya`akov̱, and declare to the children of Yisra’ĕl:
